Law / Working rights for an Aussie in Poland? [3]

Hi. For an

Aussie

you have somewhat strange English. I would like to help you but I barely understand.

cant find any information regarding what I am requried to do

Where have you been looking? Just contact any Polish embassy/consulate! Your Polish wife can help you too.
Anyway, for work permit you should first find a prospective job and then the future employer does the rest.

Travel / American woman visiting Poland in March/April [15]

WHAT?! What do yu mean exactly? Was it in Poland or whare? There can happen occasional dislays of racism as everywhere, but I'd never build my opinion on this. You will be one of few of the kind here when you come and that is it. If you catch a few stares - well, that's understandable. Smaller towns: even more curiosity, understandably, but don't treat yourself as a circus exibit - WTF?! Settle whereyouu deicide and that's it.

Well finally you got this! Now, my next demand will be... a shrubbery!!! ;)

Are you sure? (Do you have any idea how many babies will be born after my visit??)

Arghh, you naughty shagger:D

News / Poland's atheist loonies have had their 5 minutes [239]

I say your cat is the source (and secret schemer) of all your failures. It is the tool in the hands [or paws or fins - who's really to say how it looks? :) ] of the Dark Lord. The dark matter is there as a sign! Does it secrete a hellish odour comparable to cat's shite? If so then there is a powerful deamon in your house and you should leave it instantly praying that the deamon won't follow you. Or you can just clean the cat shite and teach the mischief furry fekker to do it outside :D

you also heard abut another Christian, known a Mother Teresa.

Wasn't she was just an elderly atheist lady who liked to help people?

Elvis could still be alive following your logic.

Hwat?! That's insane! I saw him yesterday!
Suggesting that Elvis is dead is just as ridiculous as saying that man could ever land on the Moon.

Work / How to get to job at Krakow Business Park? [5]

Yep, basically train and car. Both are strugle, but I'd choose the train from the main central station. Goes 15 min. to KBP, ticket is around 2.5 PLN and you dont need to look for a parking space which is scarce at KBP at the moment.

Life / $3,000-$4,000 a month - would we have enough money to live in Poland? [273]

Jeez guys, enough with the OCD already.
And pass me the alcoholic handwash when you're done ...

Hahahahhha, good one.

Yes, 3000 PLN will be enough, but if you share a flat or other expenses then it can only be better. Students however are able to survive on much smaller amount. This unique ability is lost while aging:D

Love / Culture of Polish people (searching for a Polish guy who is the father of my baby) [45]

Sue the guy for paternity of Your child

- May be unnecessary if the guy admits to the child. DNA test is the last resort, but often unnecessary.

Oh, and this has IMO nothing to do with him being Polish and everything to do with him being a complete ass. Don't bite on the "culture excuse".

Totally!

Ok, the lad from facebook is off the hook then, he's like 20.

Heh, poor guy, he's not even aware what was up around him for a minute;)

Work / part-time job in Poland needs work permit? [40]

why would an employer waste their time going through this red tape if they could employ a candidate with the work permit or a local?

Simple: because of experience or qualifications or language. If not any of these then probably locals are cheaper. Anyway, as I said work permit is nt such a big hassle for employer, but it has to be done. You don't get work permit without an employer first.

working with private company and they didnt still send me work permit! I didnt know it would take so much time.

you don't buy it, you apply for it (your employer actually) and it has to take some time, which is normal and it's like that everywhere.

about getting work permit u have to apply big companies really like IBM, PMI, HCL, HAYS etc.. then it wont be problem...

Yes, they have it all sorted out already. Also now some of them are looking for accountant w/Turkish.

Work / part-time job in Poland needs work permit? [40]

Hi,
It's either you want to work in Poland or you came to study. You can't have both as a foreigner. Probably this restriction protects from lousy students and sleepy workers;)

Another thing is that it is your future employer's obligation, not yours, to take care of the work permit for non-EU citizen. Also, your visa application would rely on the process of getting the permit. Are you on a student visa, D-type or what kind?

News / Smoking ban in Polish bars and restaurants (AT LAST!) [400]

Well in that case, let's ban alcohol as well: it is proven to cause cancer

What? Alcohol is just as harmful as healthy it is! Why then your own body produces small amounts of alcohol itself? And being violent? Half of the people are violent and the other half is is much more relaxed and friendly after a few shots. No pattern here. Except alcohol abuse. But normal consumption is different and does not affect anyone else - not like smoking!

Cancer? Could you elaborate on that please? And isn't this about cigarettes - the cancer king?

killed another person in a traffic accident because they have just smoked a packet of cigarettes.

countless road accidents because of morons who dropped their cigarette on their pants just before a road crossing or were too busy with the fag instead of watching the road!

Harry, the rest of your arguments are not acceptable to me: the reason is that smoking affects the sorrounding harshly while alcohol - not, neither does the unhealthy food.

Lovely. Thanks for that, you thoughtful non-smokers.

I really can understand your frustrations - and thanks for this input - it is very interesting. However I still won't agree that it is unfair to the non smokers if someone said it.

a disaster in terms of enforcement

- imposing this law is supposed to be good, but generally imposing such a law, I can agree it is controversial. I treat it as a pro-health measure though.

Life / I got beaten and kicks in my face just cuz i dont look polish [205]

It doesn't have to be luck. If there are injured or wounded the police always comes very fast. In other cases you wait as this is obviously lower priority. 5 or 8 minutes is not exception in Poland, it is just the matter of how far they are and traffic, that's all.

And/or the guilt complex.

And/or the guilt complex.

... yeah, and this terrifying feeling that for our sins on this Earth we can spend whole eternity in hell, suffering unimaginable anguish and tearing pain from being hung by the testicles over a cauldron of sulphur and fire.

Because theyre are trying to prove the unprovable.

Trying to prove what? I don't think so. It is actually even more reasuring and convenient to know facts instead of things that are really hard to believe and even more to rely on. So who is trying to prove what? Maybe you mean some 'crusading' ones, but this type we can find on each side of the barricade.

OK..there is some religous thing on TVP2 at the moment...lots of people in strange robes with really silly hats on which they are kissing before they put on....

Run, Wildrover, run! It's the Hat sect!!! They can steal your hat and use it to greet stranger in other hats! ;)

Lots of people are queing up to kiss some picture on a table ( a great way to spread infection ) , and get a cross painted on their forehead with a small brush....\

- Justin Beaver photo maybe?

News / Poland's atheist loonies have had their 5 minutes [239]

People of all faiths, have one thing in common they believe in a higher power. Atheists believe in ... ???

They don't just resort to beliefs. They know facts, not believe improbable or imaginary things. This is the difference. Everyone's choice.

Atheists lie to themselves because their practical minds can only rationalise their existence that way.
They are not capable of admitting that life simply doesnt make sense, doesnt make sense at all.

So where is this lie? Is atheists' lie bigger than beliving things that are just as probable as fairy tales? You are reasonable man, why do you say that pure facts on which atheists rely are lies. Of course it doesn't make sense! When you start hoping for a 'bigger meaning' or higher purpose or some life after death - that's religion's arena and if it suits your needs - fine.

Magi

magoi is ther exact term, meaning 'the wise-@ss who travels guided by analog satnav' - meaning the star.

They were probably Zoroastrian (but maybe Buddhist)

- I guess we cannot completly exclude FSM followers, huh?

News / Today's holiday ("Three Kings") - Is everything closed in Poland? [25]

Yeah, everything is closed man. It comes form this very old tradition - where the three kings were travelling (which in fact were not three and not even kings, but what the heck let's not spoil the fun) everyone was supposed to close their business and we keep this tradition alive till now.
