History / How Polish history is viewed by other countries textbooks [124]

Oh, and it comes again. The only argument which Harry knows is that someone is lying. No, it's not a lie to guess other people intentions. SO I'M GUESSING I HIT THE NAIL with your intentions. If not, prove it! Tell 10 things you like in Poles.

That's true about Harry. He likes to accuse other people of "lying" while he lies and defames people with half-truths all the time.

Life / Hollywood Lyrics, why a Polish girl? ('A Polish girl in America') [37]

Not Slavic women, dude.. they hit 30 and look like they're 45. That's where yank and limey women, krauts too - have you beat.

This Polish girl Jane Krakowski is 42 and looks like she's 32.

Even though she's over 40, she looks pretty hot to me :)

News / Die Welt-Poland and Germany are the economic driving force of Europe [239]

Yeah...Germany/Poland is becoming the "terrible duo" of Europe ;)

In that German article I see quite a few references to "Deutschland und Polen". That's interesting. The new bad boys of Europe? LOL At least according to a certain country.

Yeah maybe German-Polish relations and cooperation, though not perfect, is better then thought.

No wonder I've been liking Germany more lately LOL

News / Polish cleaner blows the lid on 'dirty' Germans [124]

That is the point! *nods*

And she has no plans to leave the horrible country behind...wonder why!

I think one of the things you and I agree on is the craziness, of when person A goes to country B and complains about country B even though that person CHOSE to live there.

I have criticized those Poles who have CHOSE to live in England and Germany who then complain about those countries. If they don't like those countries, they should leave them.

At the same time, I'm sick of hearing about people who CHOOSE to live in Poland or the USA who then complain about those countries. We have people running over our southern borders who then exploit American hospitals and our welfare system who then have the nerve to complain about the USA.

I don't care who you are, if you CHOOSE to live in a country, you should not complain about it and if you do, you should LEAVE IT.

News / Polish cleaner blows the lid on 'dirty' Germans [124]

PS: I have a strong feeling you can wait for the ukrainian version of such a book blaming their polish employers.
There is a lot of envy and jealousy around...especially for people who think being a cleaner is something to be ashamed about!

I don't think there is anything wrong with people doing any kind of dirty job since the truth is they need to be done. One interesting TV show they have here is called "Dirty Jobs" and it shows how needed these jobs are to keep a civilized society going. It gives an appreciation for the people who do these dirty jobs.

There is nothing wrong with these jobs, especially if somebody can build a business from them. Some of the wealthiest people here own, cleaning, sanitation, landscaping, plumbing, construction, etc type businesses.

As for this lady writing this book about "dirty Germans", it could be based on sour grapes and a grudge she has against Germans. The book is based on her opinion. I'm sure there are some biases she has.

But if she didn't like the cleaning jobs she was doing in Germany, maybe she should have left Germany.

Life / What is the reason for POLISH jokes ? [486]

It does in a way because if there's no objects to make jokes about around, people don't even think about this kind of jokes to begin with.

Really?

Do you really think the American people of today are that prejudiced against Polish people on their own that when they see someone Polish they're going to go ridicule them? I mean I'm sure there are some ignorant and prejudiced people who do do that but I think that's the exception.

MediaWatch:
It has more to do with what kind of media and culture people in the area are exposed to.

Well, media has an impact, that's true. As far as the culture, yes it is exactly what I said earlier, no Polish people so it's no Polish culture around here too and what follows is also no Polish jokes. Unless you meant the level of the population and not the culture that the people are exposed to.

What do you mean by level of the population?

But, Media has more impact then anything else.

As stated earlier in this topic, there were reports of people in the 70's in parts of the US with no Polish people, who thought of Poles along the lines of inferior intelligence jokes. When they were asked "What do you think about Polish people?" They would respond "they are dumb". When asked if they thought that way because of Polish people they know? They would say they didn't know any Polish people. The questioner would then ask them how they can have that negative opinion of Polish people if they never met them?

The responder would then say basically, "Oh I think Polish people are dumb because of those Polish jokes I see and hear on TV". They then would repeat the Polish jokes they heard the night before on TV. That tells you something about the power of TV media. Especially in those days when Americans were locked into watching a handful of TV channels.

I also live in an area with quite a few Polish Americans but I don't notice any people ridiculing me or them with subhuman intelligence jokes. But if this was years ago maybe it would be different.

Wouldn't you agree that making ethnic slurs in polite company is generally taboo in America today?

In this case of course I fully agree with you even though it happens even to the highly educated people to make stupid jokes every once in a while. nobody is perfect.

Yes nobody is perfect.

Life / What is the reason for POLISH jokes ? [486]

To be fair, you have to admit that there are jokes being made about almost every nation out there. Ignore it, you can't stop it anyway.

Honestly, on a personal basis, I almost never hear these so called "Polish jokes" as an adult. I don't know, maybe its the class of people I'm around which is why I don't hear them. I have found in general that in polite company, Polish jokes and ethnic jokes in general, are taboo. The few times I have heard these Polish jokes, if I politely told the person that they were insult jokes, they were like "Oh I'm sorry" and we moved on. It was no big deal and they respected me for speaking up on this.

Ironically, when I was younger, when they these Polish jokes were "popular", one guy who told me a "Polish joke" turned out to be one of my best friends after I explained that they were insult jokes. I have found that most people in America are fair minded and don't want to insult other people or be a bigot. This is the reason why former Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter apologized for saying them, a couple years ago. Evidently, it could have been one reason for his disproportionate defeat in a state with a large Polish-American population.

It seems these Polish jokes are most "popular" on the internet where people who are insecure about their own ethnic identity or have prejudice against Polish people, can push them in anonymity.

Life / What is the reason for POLISH jokes ? [486]

In case of USA you have only those jokes - that phenomena is interested in itself- question arise why mass media in U.S. did keep so called jokes alive and kicking for decades !

As pointed out before, the media led by NBC-TV was prejudiced against Polish people and introduced in the 60's these subhuman intelligence jokes about Polish people in the US. NBC-TV and other media then repeated them using the big lie technique to condition the public to have the same anti-Polish prejudice that they have.

George Schlatter of NBC-TV basically admitted that he was pushing these insult Polish jokes about Poles to dehumanize the image of Polish people to the public, according to the Polish American Guardian Society.

These so called Polish jokes were definitely part of a media hate-campaign against Polish people. You have over half the world with third world populations that don't have housing and clean running water, that are far worse off then Poland, yet the media didn't single them out for their much lower IQ or lack of intelligence.

Unfortunitely the IQ doesn't have much to do with one's ability to be successful in life.
You can't buy yourself even a candy simply because of your high IQ. It's still nice to have it but in most cases it's nothing but a "breadless art".

Well of course. No kidding. Not everyone who has a high IQ utilizes them. But then again you don't become Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Steve Jobs, Mike Bloomberg, etc or for that matter..... a productive citizen, without at least an average IQ.

Its hard to define what exactly the definition of intelligence is so the next best thing to look at is anectodal evidence of people. Such as not only how they score on IQ tests but how they apply their minds to create a decent life for themselves.

In the book "The Jewish Phenomenon", Polish Americans on a per capita basis are the third wealthiest group in the US behind Jewish Americans and Japanese Americans. How did this happen if Polish people do have the inferior intelligence that Hollywood and NBC-TV said they have?

According to page 5 of the book "The Jewish Phenomenon"

Ethnic Household Income (US Average 100)

Jewish 172
Japanese 132
Polish 115

Chinese 112
Italian 112
German 107

Anglo-Saxon 107
Irish 103

US Average 100

Filipino 99
W. Indian 94
Mexican 76

Puerto Rican 63
Black 62
Native American 60

How does Hollywood and other anti-Polish media bigots explain that the first American self-made female billionaire - Martha Stewart - is Polish?

How do they explain the Co-founder of Apple Computer, (with all its Ipods, Imacs, Ipads, etc) as being Polish?

No these subhuman intelligence jokes about Polish people were created out of thin air in the studios of Hollywood in the 1960's. My parents said they never heard of them growing up in the 50's but all of a sudden in the mid 60's they came out of nowhere and were everywhere in the US. Gee I wonder why???

delph,

Since the IQ of Poland is competitive with other European countries, I don't think Poles are giving anymore of a reason then any other group. You're just looking for these reasons.

Too bad you don't look for anything positive about Poland.

News / Why is Poland developing so slowly or in the wrong direction? Who is responsible ? [317]

Nah...it's not about what we want or can do but what others accuse us off...you know the conspirational theories after those we "manipulate" and "influence" everything and their grand ma!

Well I guess every individual has his or her opinion.

But I think any fair minded person would see that any country in Europe can't do too much "manipulating" and "influencing" of another country in a negative way, because to a certain degree, European countries (especially neighboring ones) need each other. The days of net zero sum, one country benefiting at the expense of another, I believe are over in Europe. At least I don't think we will be seeing any kind of Molotov-Ribbentrop agreements anytime soon LOL

Any country in Europe, Germany, Poland, France, etc will always be stronger individually, when they work WITH each other and NOT against each other. At least that's how I see it.

We are an economical giant but a political midget....

LOL

I don't know about that.

I just think Germany needs to assert itself a little more on the world scene. We have seen some of that in the Mid-East and on Iran. Its also good Merkel had the guts to talk about multi-culturalism when it doesn't work. Good.

News / Why is Poland developing so slowly or in the wrong direction? Who is responsible ? [317]

As a German it seems we have *** influence.

Why do you say as a German "we have **** influence"?

Germany is the main power in Europe. Everyone knows that.

It seems to me in general, Germany wants to be fair with its neighbors and is pro-EU/pan European minded. At least much more now then before.

So what kind of things would you like to see Germany manipulate?
It might be good to see happen.

Some say Germany is not assertive enough in world politics based on her past. Relative to Germany's economic status, I would say Germany is kind of shy on the world scene. You have poor third world dictator countries with tiny economies yapping a way on the world scene (N. Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, etc). Their political clout on the world scene seems to far exceed their economic clout/influence.

it's the same story over and over on PF and in this country in general. heaven forbid you criticise Poland.

You say, "Heaven forbid you criticize Poland". My butt!

What a silly premise you have.

Half of these topics criticize Poland with knee jerk "Poland is bad no matter what" anti-Polish trolls running wild.

Actually you should have said "heaven forbid some Poles stand up to the constant "Poland is bad" drum-beat going on"

And there is nothing wrong with referencing other nations to find perspective, especially those nations that were part of Poland's history.

It's much easier to do the research in Poland though. Really, it's nothing more than that - Poland is an easy place to write books, Russia is not. Russians also don't tend to care much about what someone says about them, whereas Poles do - so it makes even more sense to write a book that appalls Jews and offends Poles?

Yeah sure I see how Russian sympathizers/closet Russians on this forum like yourself never get offended at anything said about Russians. LOL

One time you were going on and on, how "terrible" it was for Poles to think badly of Russians based on what the Soviet Russians did to them, when NOBODY was even talking about the Russians LOL. No no Russians don't care about what people think about them. LOL

News / Pole-basher Gross up to old tricks [284]

The same thing can be said for Jews and Russians. The "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" orginated in Russia, so that should tell you about how Russians felt about Jews. They didn't exactly have the warmest relationship with each other.

Also if you were to ask Russian nationalists, who started communism in Russia, can you guess who they say did it? I'll give you a hint. They will say it wasn't the Russians.

I just find it interesting how Jan Gross and his Holocaust Industry types haven't investigated Russia for anti-semitism the way they have gone after Poland (despite the fact most Jews CHOSE to live in Poland for 1000 years).

Unless of course its only a matter of time before they go after Russia.

And before you ask...no..i am not Russian...

Well of course I don't believe you are a Russian citizen, I just think you have Russian ancestry in you based on your sensitivity about things said about Russia while lacking that same sensitivity about equal things said about Poland.

Don,t worry , nobody will believe whats in these books...I mean , Polish people doing anything wrong , its just not possible is it....?

Oh please.

Of course the Polish have done things wrong.

All people on this forum like you do is point out the wrongs of Polish people while being ultra-sensitive about the wrongs of your Russia which started WWII WITH Nazi Germany (Russia's ultimate wrong).

Maybe Gross and the Holocaust Industry should start investigating Russia for things it did that led to the suffering of Jews? Afterall, the Holocaust Industrialists feel deep down all of Central and Eastern Europe is somehow responsible for anything bad that happened to Jews in the past 200 years.

And past Polish presidents, from Lech Walesa to Alexander Kwasinewski have gone on apology tours apologizing to Jews for the bad things that some Poles did to Jews. They did this of course while the people they apologized to never apologized for the wrongs some of their people did to Poles, like there disproportionate participation in high ranking Soviet positions that led to the mass murder of Poles.

Have the Russians ever apologized to the Jews for all of their anti-semitism? Have the Russians ever apologized to the Jews for STARTING WWII with Nazi Germany and training the Nazis how best to find and liquidate Jews? (as referenced in the movie "The Soviet Story)

Yeah this is just another book by the "Holocaust Industrialist" Jan Gross to put more cash in his bank acccount and others like him. Norman Finkelstein who has written the book "Holocaust Industry" has said Jan Gross is a Holocaust Industrialist.

Of course the anti-Polish Lefty Holocaust Industrialist newspapers like the New York Times will say this book is the best most wonderful book on the face of the earth, etc etc.

This is just another attempt by the Lefty Polish-Hater propagandists and Holocaust Industrialists to place the blame of WWII away from Nazi Germany and onto Poland. We have already seen this with the BIG LIE anti-Polish mass media propaganda campaign of the media calling Nazi German death camps - "Polish death camps".

This is all part of the media's anti-Polish conditioning and the media (Leftist) just loves Jan Gross for his hatred of all things Polish.

So what next are these Polish-Haters going to say next about the Polish, that Adolf Hilter is Polish?

So why is Gross stopping here? When is Gross and his fellow anti-Polish bigots in the Holocaust Industry going to come out and say that Adolf Hitler was Polish?

Then they can really rake in the cash for the Holocaust Industry.

Jan Gross has about as much honesty and integrity as these Holocaust Industrialist Scammers.

News / Poles don't have a heart for math... says The New York Times [84]

Well leave it to the New York Times to write slanted new pieces on Poland.

Everyone knows that if you're a journalist you can SELECTIVELY pick your sources in a nation to make that nation look according to your own positive or negative bias for that country.

We see it here in the US all the time.

Basically if you read the old Left-wing media all the time they will interview sources that make America look like an arrogant or flawed country. Many times our US military doesn't look the greatest because the New York Times type media will put a MICROSCOPE on the flaws or mistakes of the US military or people. I'm not saying America doesn't make mistakes but I don't think the Left-wing media puts the US in the best light.

But if you read conservative American media, or listen to most radio talk shows (mostly conservative) you get the opposite opinion of American because their journalism or reports are from Pro-America sources who aren't ashamed of America and are optimistic about America despite its problems.

You can make a news story look any which way you want based on your Cherry Picked sources of information.

This New York Times story wasn't too bad since it gave some differing points of view but you can see they didn't want to talk to too many sources that puts Poland in the best light for education.

No doubt Poland has its problems, but why couldn't they reference these positive sources on the intellectual ability of Poles?

Like when Polish students from Warsaw WON the 2007 World IBM Battle of the Brains software contest in Tokyo in March 2007? Polish students beat out students from Japan, Germany, India, China and even MIT students from the US

ddj.com/linux-open-source/201807194
marketwire.com/mw/release.do?id=769147&sourceType=1

If you ask me Poles can't be too bad at math if they're winning difficult WORLD IBM software programming contests.

Gee, I wonder why the New York Times didn't talk to these Polish students or their professors?

History / Lwów, Wilno ... kresy - Poland have lost enormoust part of our heritage... [389]

Come on Socrates be nice.

The Ukrainians have a history of suffering parallel to that of the Poles.

Let's not forget that a lot of the friction between Poles and Ukrainians in the past was because of nearby large nations playing Poland and Ukraine against each other for their own benefit.

Much of the anti-Ukraine and anti-Polish propaganda out there came from Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. More so the Soviet Union since it outlasted Nazi Germany by 45 years. Much of this anti-Ukraine and anti-Poland propaganda sadly still exists today in the minds of some people.

I fully support the improved Poland-Ukraine relations of the past 10 years.

Life / What is the reason for POLISH jokes ? [486]

The sad thing is that you seem to be totally unaware of what kind of jokes Polish people make. It's very common to hear jokes about black people, Asians, Germans, Russians, etc here. And these jokes are often quite malicious in nature - many people have no issue with telling a joke with the word "nigger" in it.

For Gods sakes you barely speak any Polish so what would know about what Polish people say.

Your knowledge of what's going on in Poland is so weak.

For people to know what's really going on in Poland, all they have to do is take the opposite of what you say since you purposely distort everything going on in Poland for your own anti-Polish agenda.

You said before that only Polish Americans care about the media lie of "Polish Death Camps" and not regular Poles. It turns out that more Poles care about this issue then Polish Americans based on the signatures on the Kosciusko Foundation website against this propaganda.

You are nothing but a liar and propagandist against Poland while you fight tooth and nail for all things Russian.

All you do is read Russian English language reports for what goes in Poland for your act that "you live in Poland".

Its unbelieveable that somebody with all his anti-Polish criticisms and hatred of a littany of all things Polish that you have would CHOOSE to live in Poland.

You are that same Russian American going onto various national websites fighting tooth and nail for all things Russia with all your phoney aliases including on this website.

You talk about prejudice in Poland, its nothing compared to all the Neo-Nazis running around in Russia beating the crap out of minorities with GOVERNMENT BACKING.

The Nashis in Russia are all over Russia pushing white Russian Neo-Nazism. No wonder they call themselves Nashis.

As for Polish jokes, they barely exist in mainstream America today. They exist mostly only on the internet like websites like this with people like you and you other aliases on this forum.

So you can only feel like a man when you fight? Pretty poor in my eyes.

MediaWatch:
I think Pennboy was joking about using his fists LOL

guesswho:
no, he obviously didn't: "No but it makes a man feel like a man"

Well I think if a person is telling a "Polish joke" and he at least has some class or fair mindedness, there is no reason to raise a fist at him. Unless he deserves it! No just joking LOL!!

I find that most Americans are reasonable and the times I did hear an American tell a Polish joke, once I told them about the prejudice behind them, that was it. I didn't hear anymore so called Polish jokes from them. They actually respected me for standing up for Polish people. They would also then go talking about how they had a Polish friend or relative that they liked and how they never really understood why Polish people were singled out in America for these insult jokes.

Its kind of like TV guy Bill Maher in 2001 telling a Polish joke on air and when he didn't get a favorable reaction from his panel he then went onto say in so many words "OK I shouldn't have told that Polish joke" "Although I have always believed that in general there is a basis for stereotypes about people, in fairness to Polish people, I never understood the notion that they are stupid. Where did that even come from?'

As for "Pennboy"

I can't speak for Pennboy, but if I said I would like to punch somebody for telling a joke I didn't like, I would say that as a joke.

I would even admit that if I heard an Anti-Polish Media Bigot got his arse kicked for bashing Polish people, it would be funny. LOL

But I thank you for responding since you bring up a very interesting point.

WHO is to say who the arbiter or judge is to say when something is meant to hurt somebody and when its not??

Well at least its good to know that all those inferior intelligence jokes about Polish people were meant as a term of endearment to Polish people. LOL!!!!

I'll remember to tell those Polish Americans I know who years ago had their windows smashed and house vandalized with graffitti of "Polish jokes" that were said on TV just days before their house was attacked. After they were caught, the perpetrators seemed to enjoy all the anti-Polish brainwashing the TV media was feeding them.
