UK, Ireland / Ed Miliband, new Labour leader, talking about Polish immigrants yesterday [62]

However, from direct personal knowledge I know he does look after local Polish constituents.

I'll post this link on a few sites and that'll ensure he doesnt get the vote the British public ;0)

But I do hate the treachery and support for mindless Stalinist thuggery that surfaced time and again in the Miliband family in the past.

Past being the operative word sweetie..Besides Red Ed only got in because of his backing from the Unions...lets see how long he lasts!

That is obligatory press-BS, he openly says his party is "Red",

He's been put where is by the Unions, and will be manipulated...and brother is what he is...another Blairite..Neither are strong enough to look after a herd of goats let alone a country! But I look forward to what they have to say at the end of next month in respond to the budget.

I wouldnt want either of them running the country! This has nothing to do with their families past, it has to do with them!

and remember Britain had a Jewish Premier over a hundred years before, and the number of Jews holding high office in the UK proves that the public are not overly bothered about whether someone is Jewish or not.

Quite the oposite really, they prove to be honest...Cant remember a Jewish MP being done for corruption (unlike other immigrants who abuse their power in this country)...There are also plenty of Jewish circuit judges and all very respected.

My dislike of the brothers, has nothing do with their religion or ancestry, more to do with the policital views.

Pure comedy!

Did these people not do natural history at school? OMG! Does stupidity have no bounds!

That's in the eye of the beholder....

Im sure some Germans and other nationalities (older people who should be dead but for some reason they still continue to waste precious air!) will say the Jews deserved all they got! But we both know this isnt true!

Love / Polish Girl Doesn't Want To Touch. [240]

I dont see it that way, I see it as "I know this poor sap fancies me so I'll string him along and get a good free ride whilst it lasts"

Polonia / i need advice for a korean friend [13]

Tell her not to even think about coming back here.

Back in the UK I see Yoshi...WB :D

As for immigration be prepared for it to get even tougher and yes its partly due to bogus marriages, bogus colleges, bogus jobs, bogus finances, bogus qualifications, bogus documents, mass chain immigration and none integration...the list is endless really...take your pick.

As to Espana's friend...Its her child I feel for, Korea isnt the most multi-culti country in the world so its possible the kid's going to have a tough time! It was a bad move on her behalf to have the child in Korea...But she's made her bed she must lie in it..visa routes apart from spousal / family ones are limited...

I did no think that Korea was such a bad place to live and she would be better off being with her immediate family anyways, since the father is not interested in his baby. She should think about the benefit of the baby not about hers alone anymore.

I just hope the family accept the child...

UK, Ireland / Polish eligibility to claim benefits in the UK [30]

I am indeed British, my dealings with the job centre were confusing beyond beleif.

Probably because you've always worked!

Just asumed by all the daily mail style hysteria I have heard over the years that it would be easier for her.

People who know how to work the system can milk it..

She worked all her life till she got here, I am sure that the moment she realises I ain't paying out she will find work quickly.

No offence, but you only have her word for that, any women who has had independent means all their adult life isnt going to be comfortable relying on someone for every penny they spend, in fact moving to another country you'd have thought she'd be desparate to have her own money coming in if thats what she was always used to.

Old enough to know way better.

Then so should you...time to cut the cord and let her start fending for herself....

Isn't the deposit on the Oyster card worth 3 pounds? I'd be inclined to simply pay for the bus fare and no more ;)

I see you had a re-think and curbed your extravagant ways!

(nah bus is a lot cheaper, by the time he adds tax and luggage to a flights its a joke these days!)

UK, Ireland / Polish eligibility to claim benefits in the UK [30]

(heck, I'd be paying for a cab to the airport and the plane ticket if I was him...)

You're much kinder than I am, it would be an old oyster card with enough on to get to the bus station and bus ticket back to Poland!

Aha! this is indeed the reason behind why I could not claim during a short dry patch of work earlier this year

I dont get that because as a British person (are you?) and a tax payer you could have claimed JSA in your own right so you were miss informed.

I was hoping that with us no longer being together she would become eligible as yes, her options are the streets or to go home.

If you as a person who has already worked were turned down, what made you think they give her a free ride?

her options are the streets or to go home.

Didnt you forget the work option? You know that strange thing that pays the bills? Just curious but how old is she?

UK, Ireland / Polish eligibility to claim benefits in the UK [30]

She won't get a thing because she hasn't worked legally for 12 months. It'll either be work or the streets for her - or she can go home.

Oh well, such is life.... :D Maybe he should invest in a bus ticket for her a parting gift.

UK, Ireland / Polish eligibility to claim benefits in the UK [30]

Could she get deported?

Since she has never actually exercised her rights to working in the UK, she should be!

So now she is a single Polish woman living in London (living in the UK since march 2009) with no job, my question is, is she eligible to claim anything at all? I was hoping jsa and housing, I need to know this as I intend to remove myself from our lease next week and also disable her access to my bank accounts, I have no choice I just wanted the info so I could post it to her or something.

Possibly none NI based contributary JSA, but if she has never worked and has no intention of working, I doubt they'll give her that as she'll have to prove she has been looking for work and by the sounds of it she has no intention of doing so - as for housing benefits possibly, but again she'd have to make the effort to to the town hall and get the forms, why doesnt the lazy biatch get a job like the rest of us?

She has no one in the UK, no friends as she never leaves the house, no one to turn to for help at all

She sounds fun to be with!

Just one question, why on gods earth did you put up with a sponger for all this time? Also why did you come to a forum when you could have got the information here:

Love / Polish girls fall for Indian guys ? [217]

Indian guys are hard working and take care of family, unlike western guys who love themselves more.

Give me a break! You lot still sell your kids to factories! Or is that what you consider taking care of the family?

SOME Polish girls(Id say a minority as Ive never met one that would be interested in anything other than a Polish man) are attracted to something different and fall for the lies that these men tell them..most are here in the UK on student visas and are desparate to stay...So the more bull they tell the better chance they have of getting their British passport - note they never have any intention of going to live in Poland with their new brides, unlike Brits.

Just one persons view, but pretty accurate :)

UK, Ireland / Work in any office in England without any degree? [11]

I dont want be another useless emigrant who only take money from goverments n pass time.

I wouldnt worry about that too much you're not actually entitled to anything.

im not afraid any job

Most people are developing this attitude so Im afraid there arent even the low end jobs available..plus the 1,000s of 3rd worlders who are studying here will be desparate to work their "20" hours a week...

I agree ! I'm sick of my tax being spent on interpreters and translations for various leaflets as well as diversity training and other similar bo**ocks !

It'll never happen, because of course while people dont have these kind of luxuries in their own countries - they expect the world on a gold platter when they come to the UK!! The Police will chop down their numbers of front line staff (the ones we actually need) yet they will pay stupid money to some immigrant to interpret because some scummy immigrant cant abide by the laws here!!! Laughable isnt it?

News / POLAND IS 4TH BEST PLACE TO LIVE IN EUROPE [60]

Can someone on a small private pension plus full State pension do that in the UK?

Plenty do, because life isnt that expensive in the UK...most if not ALL pensioners own their own properties outright by the time they retire..so outgoings are significantly lower - Take for instance my parents a not rich my any means but they spend about 2 or 3 some times 4 months of the year in Cyprus, they also go to a couple of other countries for holidays, neither of them smoke and they have the odd glass of wine so - you see, in the UK its quite possible to have a good life in retirement if you dont puff and drink your money away.

This "article" has the strong whiff of BS about it to me.

A little?

News / POLAND IS 4TH BEST PLACE TO LIVE IN EUROPE [60]

such as Germany and Britain which finished in fifth and ninth place

Funny how we finish in 9 but Poles cant wait to get here!

he average Pole retires at 59.3 years

What is his pension when he retires? Can he travel abroad when he feels like it and spend a few months of year out of the country relaxing in the sun in a foreign coutry?

Poland can also boast the cheapest petrol and diesel prices (at £0.98 and £0.90 per liter) and shares the lowest electricity prices with France (£0.08 per kWh).

It also boasts the lowest wages so these prices are pretty expensive if a guy is only earning 8 zlt an hour (circa. £2.00) in comparison to your average Brit who will pay circa. £1.15 and he earns circa. (medium average) £14.00 per hour - who's the one who's laughing?

Considering that a Polish smoker can expect to pay just £1.70 for a packet of cigarettes - in Britain a packet costs a whopping £6.30 -

So again, he has to work nearly a full hour to buy a pack of fags - by the way most of the money on fags in the UK is tax which goes in to the coffers which is good for none smokers...Spain used to boast cheap fags but their government has whacked them with lots of tax, Poland will follow (just back from Czech Rep and the fags have doubled in 4 years do you think their wages have doubled????)

Its all relative Rychlik and the figures you posted maybe cheap by Western European standards but they are not by Polish standards...

and Poles work the longest hours (40.7 hours a week).

Wrong:

The average is 42.2 in the Netherlands it is 46.0 so they are far behind working the longest hours, but the legal limit in Poland is actually lower than most European countries.

I will also experimentally stew a bit of it

Get a smoked bacon joint and make a ham and pea soup..Its lovely in winter :D

Just grill the gammon steak... :D

so tell them they can have pie and chips, with treacle tart and custard for pudding, and if they don't like it... tough! haha :D

There's more to English food than pie and chips...lol..and it would be more a treacle sponge pudding - tarts are French ;0)

Food / I have a Polish couple coming over for afew days and would like to cook for them. [93]

I just bought a largish piece of unsmoked gammon at Asda and am wondering how to best cook it.

Just grill it, treat it just like you would bacon because thats all it is. It's okayish from a supermarket but much nicer from the butchers.

britishbacon.com/gammon.htm

As to the OP, cook what ever you feel most comfortable with and more so your best dish...Tried and tested is sometimes the best when expecting company, you dont want to spend half you time in the kitchen when you could be enjoying their company...

Life / 2 months to go - I will be a Polish citizen and try to find a better place to raise my kid. [67]

I'm pretty sure that it does for some... For me not really. I was just messing with zion

Oh dear, I think I was being sensitive, I should I have known better as it was comment from you :( sorry if I sounded harsh Mr Magic :)

Poland's a long way behind the Czech Republic, as always. They've had one for some time.

After this visit, Im not so sure(its changed for the worst) ...I'll fill you in..in PM or the Woody..

some *Empire* Britain's become, with illegal immigrants and criminals having more rights than the law abiding, hard working folk

No they dont, we just dont want to be called racists..so we pander to their needs...Its what I call post colonial guilt! Time to move one..These brown fekers wanted independence and they got it yet they flock here like flies! But I have to say others that flock here demand interpreters and such like and cost us a fortune (and I include you when I say us Justy, you've been paying tax for years too) so thank your countrymen who dont make the effort and send every spare penny they have home to build a house...You're a minority Hon! They used to say Pakis were the new Jews...Well, Poles are the knew Pakis...And that is the 100% view of all of my friends and most people I know...

Life / 2 months to go - I will be a Polish citizen and try to find a better place to raise my kid. [67]

and she is a JEW!

She's also Polish...Does it really make a difference still in Poland if someone is Jewish? If so I find that heartbreaking in this day and age :(

zion - I would write some jews jokes to you, but I'm too kind.

I would call you a Kvnt but Im too much of a lady! Oh my bad, I already did call you one!

I'm from a much richer country than Poland. We have a proud history of democracy, prosperity, and tolerance. That doesn't mean I'd go online and mouth off about Poland. I'm looking forward to living there soon, because I respect and love my wife's family, and because Poland has an awesome strategic position in Europe, fascinating history...

You havent lived there yet so you dont know the reality, people and places change a person, but I wouldnt broadcast it to the world...and there is the difference..You however are already broadcasting to the world you wont...see you 6 months after you arrive in Poland!

As for your comments about the language, poor you. Nothing sounds as nice as a beautiful woman talking sophisticated Polish. I think you will be unpleasantly surprised if you try to get citizenship without bothering to learn Polish.

Not really there are 1,000s of Indians and Pakistanis and the rest who have British citizenship who cant even say "hello"..and English is a global language..Britain have had immigrants for centuries and we have only just introduced a language test.. Maybe Poland will do this in the future..

If you hate Poland so much, but were the sort of person that didn't have the attributes to apply for a work permit somewhere else in Europe before now, having Polish citizenship is hardly going to open doors for you.

? Are you for real? How many Poles have managed to travel since their entrance to the EU...I dont actually think Zion married his wife just for citizenship. Im almost positive he didnt, I think he does love her, he stayed in Poland for 4 years rather than moving to the UK and living on a visa (which he could have done) - he is looking to the future for his wife and child for a secure future..

I know he came on here with a bad attitude but I think he just wanted to vent his frustration...You all know how I feel about immigrants marrying for citizenship, but I could place my life on it that Zion is not just after citizenship to live in europe and to leave wife..I know he is one of the few who met someone, fell in love and has done what it has taken to stay together and whilst Brazil isnt perfect isnt Pakistan! Its a world of difference, lets say for instance, between, Britain and Poland...

Life / 2 months to go - I will be a Polish citizen and try to find a better place to raise my kid. [67]

I want the place to work out but I have to see it as it is, and no have some idealistic view of the reality .

No place is ideal if you are struggling..And thats the reality sweetie.

But I have to say what amazes me is your view of Poland, you come from a country with a turbulant past where a democratic government were only in re-introduced in the late 1980s and even though your country is enjoying a stable time, it hasn't always been like this...Granted, Brazil acted fast and the results have been economically positive..But we still have many illegal Brazillians in the UK on dodgy Portuguese passports..So that tells me that Brazil isnt the exactly paradise..No? So maybe you shouldn't abuse Poland when your own country isn't perfect: Here are some stats for Brazil:

Childhood mortality: about 2.51% of childhood mortality, reaching 3.77% in the northeast region.

Motherhood mortality: about 73.1 deaths per 100,000 born children in 2002

In Poland these rates are a lot lower, so that must tell you something?

Shalom and best of luck to you, your baby and your wife.

2 Million Poles abroad can not be wrong ....

Very good point..

But a bit of advice if you are deciding to come back to the UK make sure you have things in place...Its not the country you left 4 years ago...Its gone down the pan where jobs are concerned and times are very tough :(

And Zion, you really should try to be a bit more diplomatic, Poland is your host nation and you are going to take its citizenship..Its very rude to speak about it in the way you are...Think before you speak.

Now to hospitals in Warsaw, my friends father has been receiving treatment for cancer there and from what I can tell his treatment has been incredibly good..This is not a private clinic either...So maybe your expectations where a little bit too high...(I dont get the whole drinking water thing, cant you drink normal tap water in Poland? Thats all you get in hospitals in the UK)

UK, Ireland / Work in any office in England without any degree? [11]

We have 4 million homes in the UK where one or both adults are out of work (not all Brits by any means by the way) at the moment, my company alone are making 600 people redundant (23% of the perm staff in the UK that doesnt include the 400 contractors they have finished in the last 2 weeks) a friend of mine works at BAE Systems and they are making 700 redundant in the next couple of months..If you take in to consideration other companies like Cadburies who have closed down most of their operations in the UK and now Twinings are now moving to Poland so that a few 100 more jobs...(just giving you British reality)

Now, if you have some "special" skill that an employer cant find at the moment in the UK then sure come here and find a well paying job, but if you dont, be prepared to bring enough money to last a couple of months until you find a job - I would have recommend you try applying to Spanish Institute in Manchester, but they have all native speakers working there - just like Poles prefer to be taught English by an English speaking person, people learning Spanish prefer to be taught by a native speaker of Spanish.

Good luck, you'll need if you want a well paying job and you dont speak perfect English...Im not being nasty when I say this, this is also a reality.

are you just drinking and eating and taxiing around? how much would you need for that back in UK? that's roughly what you'd need in Krak.

No where near as much, clubs are free in Krakow and drinks are a 1/3 of the price..Eating out is also extremely good value..

If its just the weekend you should be fine with £300-£500 quid ;)

Or there abouts, he'd be better off if he had a Nationwide Building Society account, no charges to draw out and the rates are generally very good..

Work / Can my husband work abroad with his TRC and come back to Poland? [8]

You have to be with him to work in Europe..He CAN NOT live and work in the UK without you exercising your treaty (you working), if you do what you are proposing (going over and then leaving), he will be an illegal immigrant in the UK and WILL be DEPORTED back to India!

Please, don't judge me, because you don't know anything about us, our situation and our love.

It must be, because all you want to know is if you can get your 3rd world immigrant husband work in England whilst you are not even living with him :D Must be love!

I'm not that kind of woman, just to be clear.

How much?

I just can't leave Poland at this moment and we badly need money, is that clear?

Tough, rules are rules and he can not live in the UK or Germany without you!

Don't you think that sometimes life is really difficult and it gives us some bad, bad, bad surprises? How can you judge me after reading one short message?

I dont really care to be honest...You made your choice, let him get a job in your country, he cant get one in the UK if he is on his own, if he does and you're not there (and they will find out - look at the news about Britian and their crack down on immigrants) he will be deported back to India...Even British people married to Indian nationals need visas to come to England...He will need a spousal visa to even come here..
