UK, Ireland / Time for the Poles from the UK to go home [437]

Oh and don't tell me that there are none brtish people that made some money out of this influx. Surely not all land lords, employers, shop owners, ect are foreign, right? :0

They did and you are right about the pensions being contributed to by those working...the problems start when employeers are quick to realise that they can take advantage of the situation, inflation is high in the UK, but the average salary has actually dropped...But its true we cannot attribute this to one nation, its just the Polish population stand out merely because of the number they came in and the media coverage that this has attracted.

And what Mr M said about the brain drain, this is true but in one sence this has also created a situation where employees have less choice so I would imagine they have to pay more, I wonder what will happen when the young Polish people return to Poland and what effect this will have in the job market, its all about supply and demand.

I also wonder why people are concentrating and berating those that are from EU countries that we opened our doors to whilst totally ignoring the fact that we are besieged by those that do not have the legal right to live and work here.
The BNP are gaining support because people have had enough with the huge numbers of immigrants entering the UK [/quote

You should watch the news / documentaries more often - You might learn something - How many Polish girls do you see with 5 kids sat with her on the bus...hmmmm am gonna guess none - but you can get that you will see some african or paki with that many....

As for the BNP, they are more concerend with the above scum than Poles

ROLF...

The English are well known for getting their kit off in public, the first bit of sunshine and thats it...it all comes off...

As long as the message goes out strong and clear that bad behaviour will not be tolerated, then it will be all good

News / Polish Immigrants Leave America for Europe [210]

You're best to stay home and plot our downfall which you dream of in your beds at night. We know this.. we know you come for us eventually. We aren't Europe's enemy, we've just been invented as your enemy. If you must go.. you must go. The sun will probably rise tomorrow. The US owes Europe nothing.. nothing at all.

Keep taking the tablets...As for the US owes Europe nothing - its all tit for tat mate, you want to build bases in Europe you have to give a little, you want the backing of Europe when you want to invade a country..you have to give a little..you want business in europe..you have to give a little......all one big happy family..

UK, Ireland / Polish immigration in UK [491]

not just by the EU but by their own governments

thats the main problem, they have a civil war and the EU get the fall-out, governments would rather spend money on arms and corruption than feeding their own people...

so yeah the UK and EU should be taking care of their own at the very least

It should, but old people still die of malnutrician or cold because they cant afford both....inflation is crazy in the UK yet old people have to live on a pittence.....yet some A.S can come here and live quite comfortable on benefits....thats where my problem lies..

Im not even going to bother getting in to this with you because you are very young and probably have a lovely outlook on life, but the simple truth of the matter is that 1 in 1000 are probably fleeing their country, the rest are simply after a better standard of living but are not prepared or are unable to go about it the proper way and whilst that's a shame, its a problem that their own countries should be addressing....Europe is not their to clean up the mess and take in the poor from other countries, believe it or not we have our own.

"In September 2004, British prime minister Tony Blair set a target
for the removal of failed applicants.
And do you still believe in the tooth fairy?

Asylum claims to the UK have dropped significantly
They just dont bother with A.S. they just come into the country and work and live illegally...or better still get into organised crime...

You keep quoting book references and one off instances if that makes you feel better...the UK has always (in the past) been welcoming to people who have fled their countries because of civil war or whatever reason, we have lots of Vietnamese and Bosnians who actually did flee their countries because their lives were in danger...not some African or Lithuanian that fancies a better standard of living..people abuse the system and they are over time ruining it for those who are legitimate...You have to remember how small this Island is and its pockets are not never ending...

Careful... I might start thinking about the EU Common Agricultural Policy and do myself an injury

Think about the Fisheries one instead and then you might want to kill someone ...

The UK and other parts of Western Europe are hardly a soft touch as they ship people off to their country of origin

Wrong... in a large proportion of the failed applications, these people just have their benefits withdrawn and are forgotten about, they then go "underground" work illegally and are not returned to their own countries...the system is flawed completely.

I see that you live in Toronto, what business is it of yours what happens in "Europe"

In fact, the way that most of them (asylum seekers) are treated by UK and Western Europe is nothing short of horrific.

They receive councelling which costs, they receive free medical, housing and benefits....and in Scotland they are entiled to free university places.....blimey thats horrific!

(where they will likely be killed)

If the above were true then why do they try so hard to get to an Island, they have travelled across so many other EU countries, surely in that state of mind you would just want to be in a "safe" country...it is in the most part for economic reasons they travel here...because we are a soft touch!.

Work / Why Poland employers are afraid of hiring any foreign nationals? [171]

you can give so and so family member a job

How many asian business employ English people in the UK? family business.. No?

Yes, indeed I am from Pk, but does it change anything

I would say yes, simply because you are not a member of the EU, employers dont have the hassle of sorting out visa for a European.

wow wow wow .......... I must say that reality is hard to digest and at some point you have to believe it wheather you want or not:) So lets agree with the reality we see. I know its hard but still you cant change the reality. Being a patriotic is on one side but accepting the facts are on other sides :)

Unemployment was high, things are getting better, you think that they are going to employ none EU citizens before they will employ their own....thats the reality.

Work / Why Poland employers are afraid of hiring any foreign nationals? [171]

fact that there are lot of Poles who are working in GB and Ireland, to such extent that now Polish is considered to be the second language

Not sure where you got that little gem from its not true!

Don't you think that its a kind of discrimination against foreigners?

Let's not use the word discimination.....you can only really pull that kinda card in the UK, I dont think Poland gives a shite what foreigners think....Good on her!

News / Are Poles good enough for USA (to go there without a visa)? [288]

Tell me something, Hairball, what would you have the US do? Why should US bend their own rules? What it comes down to, if we do it for one nation, then we have to do it for others.....I believe eventually, Poland will have a waiver, but it's going to take sometime.

No bending rules and tighter border controls, stricter punishment for those found in the US on an illegal status - Like it's been stated those that went to the states and overstayed, broke the rules and ruined it for the rest....tough! - Pitty we dont do the same for people from countries who enter the UK and stay..

Love / Polish girls, how are they when they are in love? [86]

I've been dating this lady for a few times now, but to every date we have there are multiple cancellations for various reasons.

if she didn't like me, she would not contact me at all and let me do all the work.

Looks like something is hard work ;-)

Hey, cut the attitude, lady

I'll make you a deal, you stop talking sh*te and I'll think about curbing my "attitude" probably never going to happen, as you know we women are all different!

Love / Polish girls, how are they when they are in love? [86]

Hm not all women are the same

How long did it take you to work that little gem out?

you don't date somebody a few times if you don't like him/her.

You can date someone more than once to determine that you dont actually have a connection - some people its take longer some it takes just one date! But what the hell would I know Im only a woman!

Love / Polish girls, how are they when they are in love? [86]

Maybe she likes you maybe she doesnt, why ask a forum full of randoms, ask her ffs! And btw, if I cancel on a guy its because Im not that interested (something better came up), because if I was interested I'd be dying to spend time in his company and I think that goes for all women...

There is a top about relationships and behavours...take a peek..

Work / Advice on Teaching English in Poland [709]

My advice for teaching english in Poland is get paid before the lesson no matter what otherwise you will never get paid.

Maybe that was just you they didnt want to pay, who would want to pay for a lesson that consisted of "oh deeeery me"

Food / Polish Eating Habits [87]

its funny you say that, I was reading an article and it mentioned that whilst tofu is healthy, its not so good for people in the West simple because its not a food we are used to and dont have the enzymes to break it down, therefore too much isn't beneficial to our health.

Food / Polish Eating Habits [87]

I suppose its down to eating habbits and as Eurola said, the portion size, I grew up with traditional english fair and still cook - no fat in pea and ham soup, no fat in braising steak with onions, no fat in liver & onions....poached eggs instead of nasty fried food...and people in the UK eat more veggies and fresh food 20 years ago than they do now, I certainly dont remember eating anything processed when I was growing up and I can tell you now there are no processed foods in my fridge or freezer

Food / Polish Eating Habits [87]

15 years ago in the UK people eat better - less take-aways, less pre-packed rubbish and now look at the country, its quite funny that all the take-aways are Indian, Italian, Chinese...its not actually English food thats making us fat, English food traditionally consists of meat and 2 veg, not dissimilar to Polish food, let it be a warning to Polish people...and whilst someone might look slim and healthy on the outside, fat sticks to the arteries and thats the killer!

Life / EXPATS in POLAND: 10 things you miss / don't miss about home . . . [138]

I don't want Poland to be "little Britain", Warsaw has resteraunts from all over the world with all sorts of cuisine so i'm sure a chippy would go down very well here.

Easy tiger it was a joke!

always fancied having an upmarket chiperia

Im sure anything you put you name to Mr B would be considered up market, even a chippy at a push :)

Since when was a chippy a restaurant?!

Harry Ramsdens (world famous I may add)

Anyway if I had money to invest in Poland it would be in a good nail salon - didnt see one in Krakow or Wraclaw - cheap as chips (pardon the pun) low overheads and you can charge (uk prices) circa. £30 for a set....wouldnt imagine there is a great deal of compatition in PL - woman are going to have more expendable income in the not too distant future start pandering to their needs...
