Easiest way to get my mom a visa to visit the USA from Wroclaw?

I haven't seen my mom in 2 years, she is in Wroclaw (where I was born). I have been living in the USA for about 10 years. Anyway, she works there full time, has an apartment, and I just want to fly her here for 2-3 weeks to visit. She has never been on an airplane, so that is going to be a challenge. But, the most important thing is getting her a visa with as little much grief as possible.

Has anyone else flown the mom's, dad's, brother's over for a visit and has some advice or a specific website, lawyer, that can help do this for low cost fee.

Thanks,

Aga

I don't see the problem with just applying for a Tourist Visa as long as she has a job or other "ties" to poland. Has she tried this yet?

"ties"

Shawn thinks the Dude is right, but they will likely have to be STRONG ties... Business, a Job, other family type commitments.

Long time no see, Dude.

Dude's been lurking ;) Yes, I meant to say sth to that effect. Strong ties are a must. It's usually easier for students.

Tourist Visa

USA has a freeze of any and all type of visas for poles.. unless the visa was obtained 2-3 years ago the mom is SOL.

Since when? You can't say that no tourist visas have been issued in 2-3 years.

yes.. no new visas are being issued.. everyone (polish) that has come in to US has had their visa for at least that long.

No way. my girlfriend just got one within the past year. It was approved for 10 years. Where are you getting your info from?

ok.. looks like that was changed last year:

Senator Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.) today joined Polish Ambassador Janusz Reiter to discuss the Senate's unanimous passage of her amendment that would extend the U.S. Visa Waiver program to Poland.

still, good luck as it's tough to get one.
