POLISH AMERICANS AND THE 2008 US ELECTION

To all those who claim that the USA presidential election is a personality contest: then it is your own fault, and from the "reasoning" that I have read here regarding why various candidates are in bad favor, you are only endorsing this contest. If you want to decide who is the best candidate, then don't disparage them with vacuous popular derrogations, actually try to identify their policies. And if you really believe that you can't trust anything that they say, then at least recognize that all three of the contenders have had statistically significant political carriers and their votes on formerly implimented policies are available. Lastly, and I urgently hope that everyone realizes this fact: you are not limited to vote for party nominees. One of the greatest political autrocities committed by the USA media is to try to convince the citizens that a vote for a "third party candidate" is a wasted vote. This is precisely the reason that McCain has the Republican nomination.

Wrong on Russia

HERALD TRIBUNE
By Stephen F. Cohen; Published: July 1, 2008

iht.com/articles/2008/07/01/opinion/edcohen.php

Neither of the two major American presidential candidates has seriously addressed, or even seems fully aware of, what should be our greatest foreign policy concern - Russia's singular capacity to endanger or enhance our national security.

Despite its diminished status following the Soviet breakup in 1991, Russia alone possesses weapons that can destroy the United States, a military-industrial complex nearly America's equal in exporting arms, vast quantities of questionably secured nuclear materials sought by terrorists, and the planet's largest oil and natural gas reserves.

U.S. is in no shape to give advice, Medvedev says

MOSCOW: Russia's new president, Dmitri Medvedev, less swaggering than his predecessor but as touchy about criticism from abroad, said in an interview that an America in "essentially a depression" was in no position to lecture other countries on how to conduct their affairs.

What upsets me is the fact that the US has such an impact on the rest of the world....not to be a "spoiled" or non caring citizen of the world, but I'm going boating and skiing, so I'll see you all later:D

ooops, Obama also turns into ugly politician.

I sow newspaper article today that he also support separation of Kosovo from Serbia. Don`t vote for him Poles. Don`t vote for any USA politician. They all are ugly and nasty. Just put cross on yourself and form Pan-Slavic lobby of USA, togather with Serbians and othger American Slavs.

Surrender your lives to Majka Slavija, souls to Christ, and honor to nobody

Don`t vote for any USA politician

BUSH is what happens when not everyone votes. Unfortunately it's not that simple. There are record breaking numbers this year for voting/political research by younger Americans.

You shouldn't believe everything you read in news articles Crow...I thought you knew better.

BUSH is what happens when not everyone votes.

Nope. In fact when more people vote, quality of the results is poorer. Thus politicians always claim that this is patriotic obligation to vote in election. Of course this is huge lie, because automatically encourage everybody to participate in election no matter what is the level of "political awareness" of individuals. This is what politicians want, more ignorant voters, because they are the easiest target to convince.

I didn't know you've lived here Lesser. How are you so keen on American politics?

This is what politicians want, more ignorant voters, because they are the easiest target to convince.

Well, that's their job. They need to convince people that their the right choice. Don't people in Germany vote? Isn't it the same idea? Have you never been convinced to vote for someone? Maybe I've misunderstood what you're saying because it doesn't make much sense to me.

What is so specific in American politics to question such universal tendency present in all so called democratic states?

Smart people (unless they lost their faith in democratic solutions) nearly alway vote. To convince them politicians must really do their best, present good arguments and some detailed solutions how to resolve the most difficult problems.

If you need to talk about patriotism to convince a citizen to go vote it means that this is not very bright person. Such person doesn't have any specific views and don't really follow politics. To convince such person is an easy task. I should not even use this word, I mean "convince". Because such people are rather "attracted" than convinced. Politicians may concentrate on pure demagogy and populist slogans, because this is absolutely enough to attract such voters. This is not a secret that smart voters are always in minority. So politicians don't even feel necessary to try to convince them. Those whom attract ignorants will win anyway.

hey people, that McCain isn`t serious...

Kick Russia out of G8 says McCain

John McCain

U.S. presidential hopeful John McCain has again called for Russia to be booted out of the Group of Eight nations. The Republican candidate accused Russia of straying from the exclusive club's founding principles. He added that in his opinion Russia was still being run by former President Vladimir Putin.

"We need to improve their behaviour," McCain told ABC television when asked about his threat to exclude Russia from the G8 if he wins the White House in November.

What`s wrong with USA? want more control?

Just to remind Poles of USA and other Slavs... When becomes ugly you can always activate your plan `B` what would mean, return to Slavija. Leave USA to American natives, to Anglos, Hispanics, etc, etc... , you have YOUR SLAVIJA. It`s not perfect but, its YOUR WORLD. Here, you are welcome!

that for sure

just look what Serbians got for refused to serve NATO and to blindly follow German/USA/British/Franch leadership in EU

We just wanted to stay neutral on current military alliances and to be open for bussines with everyone. Now, we know that only Slavic Alliance can save us
