It's for the same old arguments all over again.

Yup, anyone who knows how to use the search function here on PF will already have read most of this thread in other topics.

dollars low on purpose.Facing a world recesion with outdated working practices and un competitive businesses, America starts a pointless war and spends a fortune on bombs.Dollar gets lower and products start flowing out of the u.s ,not in.Very Very clever.Remember the steel tariff row?? by the time they got him to court , BUSH ALREADY HAD THE ANSWER-He's not as stupid as he looks that one!We also have the commonwealth which we may be able to dust off again, maybe they'll let us be friends again.

anyone who knows how to use the search function

But who wants to?

Nice post

Thanks. I couldn't help it. Some things need to be stated.

America starts a pointless war

What a good friend that one must be.

He's not as stupid as he looks that one

He's actually stupider.

We also have the commonwealth

That will be useful for the majority of our trade, won't it?
No, I thought not.

But who wants to?

Anyone who doesn't want to keep reading the same thing over and over and over again. This topic has been done before, many times...

Can't there be a big bucket for all these threads to go in?
One with a health warning at the entrance.
Do buckets have entrances?
Only when they're that big.

It's a thought. This subject seems to resurface every couple of weeks!

The commonwealth worked before and it can again.Britains empire was based on taking(literally) raw materials, minerals and foodstuffs from countries all over the world. Those products are as varied as the countries they come from.We have the money and people will still want to deal with us.If the e.u collapses then its members wont be any good to us anyway.

OK, try this.

Lets send everyone in Britain who is an immigrant or descended from immigrants home.

The entire country would have to pack up and leave.

Brits are a mixed race. Like it or not.

If the e.u collapses

You think this is likely?
Euro-scepticism is probably strongest in countries like the UK - not in much of the rest of the EU.

The commonwealth worked before and it can again

And the world hasn't moved on a bit since then?
These countries either still trade with us, or have found other lucrative partners,
or they have fallen behind in terms of infrastructure and ability to produce the goods we want.

Prices would have to rise due to the extra cost, impracticality of transporting so many goods longer distances.
Perishable goods?
Pre-existing financial ties with other EU countries - sever them?
The cost - unemployment, industry moves out of the UK into a better trading environment: the EU.

One sixteenth of me ought to return to Wales.
Any further subdivisions will probably involve sending some hair-trimmings to wherever the Hugenots were at their strongest,
and I think, some toenail clippings to the Netherlands.
Some of my cousins, some of my nicer neighbours and many of my friends would fare much more badly.

This is my point. Not a person in Britain can claim to be 100% British. They can feel it, but their heritage would prove otherwise.

It's true that there are probably donkeys in the UK who are more purebred than most Britons.

no sledz I am not stupid. I been to Britain I loved it there. we have friends there.
my ancestry is from there.the british are one of the most kindiest people I have ever known.they treat us better thne my own country here. I am for the Polish people comming out here though. i think Bush should of lifted the waiver policy. Poles should come here with only their passports. Poland is not a communist country ordangerous.

I do not like the British people that attack other people. but the British that I have meet so far are really decent. so do not be calling me stupid when you do not even know me. My husband is half Polish

I meant visa policy

I think in many ways we did have choices and we ourselves are to blame for a lot that has happened around the World. We joined the then Common Market and I could see then, even in the early 1970's that future expansion would lead us to the abis with the Poles and the like. They would want a Marshal Plan just like Germany received from America at the end of the Second World War. It was the British who were offered a way out with the Wilson Government but throw their chances. It was the British who colonized Rhodesia and we got people to go out there and in some cases English People sold everything to make a new life in Rhodesia. The British Government again Wilson, sold out everything and everybody in Rhodesia. Nobody had a good single word to say for Ian Smith and now look at the country! We are now part of an expanded Europe with idiots like Grzegorz as our new enforced neighbours. As for me, no thanks, I will, like Ian Smith did in 1967, call for Michal's own Unallateral Declaration of Independence and put up a twenty mile exclusion zone for all Poles from Guildford!

Michal's own Unallateral Declaration of Independence

I think we should start a fund up for Michal so he can be shot into Outer Space, find some basic alien life where he can start up his own colony and pontificate to the alien life forever......

Like in a big black hole..........

hahahaha !

I don't know any English people who want Northern Ireland.
The problem there these days is surely that there are some there who say they are British.
Does having more different people there now, such as the Polish make any differenence to the age old views of the Northern Irish?

no answer huh?????

Here are my answers.
No.
I know.

why are even on this site???

To counter some nasty things other people say about Polish people, showing that many British people are friendly to the Poles.
Because I have visited Poland and I will visit again.
I like Polish food (as well as various other cuisines from around the world).
Because I am attempting to learn Polish.

they hate us

If you're talking about anti-Polishness, I've stated my position many times already.
If you're talking about anti-Americanism, I am not anti-American.
America has produced some of the most amazing things and people since it came into being.
That doesn't include everything, but then I'm not a big fan of many governments around the world.

If you think life will be better in England, well then Rock on

Some Polish people seem to be doing very well for themselves here. Some aren't.
This is just one place where these things can be discussed.

RE: The argument about the EU.
The UK and Poland both happen to be members of the EU. It has drawn the two countries a little closer and brought many people to the UK from Poland. These are facts that affect Poland and Polish people. If this is not to be discussed on a forum called Polonia UK, I'm not sure what is.

I have also stated that this thread is almost the same as countless others, and such a number of identical 'discussions' is unneccesary, but some sides of the argument need to be restated for the benefit of anyone viewing the debate.

Didnt you join that EU agreement???

Now the Polish can go everywhere they want to in your little country

If this is not to be discussed on a forum called Polonia UK

true,, but I joined this forum because I wanted to learn about Poland

and all it is about latley?

A bunch of whiney British complaining

Lets change the name to England Forums.com
