Well actually we did, ever heard of India being part of the British Empire?

Why do you think so many are here now and are on the whole welcome?

Another racist bites the dust!!!!!!!!!!!

The Pakis have been part of the British Empire for centuries, and as far as history goes they did not form any fighting efforts towards defeating the Nazis what so ever. As i said in my previous post did we hand out free passes to foreign nationals who served in the RAF or any other regiment in WWII? The answer is no.

I knew you would come back with immigrants who live in the UK by the thousands but did they serve in the RAF??

WIKIPEDIA - "At the outbreak of World War II, the Indian army numbered 205,000 men. Later during World War II the Indian Army became the largest all-volunteer force in history, rising to over 2.5 million men in size.[1] These forces included tank, artillery and airborne forces. Indian soldiers won 30 Victoria Crosses during the Second World War."

india and pakistan had a massive impact in the 2nd world war, much more so than the defeated and occupied polish

well, your both wrong(scarily no immi less so..),Pakistan didnt exist at that time,India had not been partitioned....
but,if you look into the history of the Italien campaign you will find more Indian troops than Polish troops, however, most of the Indian units served in the Far East...you know, that chunk of the war that no Polish units were involved in(part of the reason it gets old when people talk about "the Poles fought for Britain",if they did, where were they against the nippon empire?

did we hand out free passes to foreign nationals who served in the RAF or any other regiment in WWII? The answer is no.

er,the answer is actually yes.....with the diference that most of those given a "free pass" actually had counties to go back to where they wouldnt end up in prison or worse....

No it wasnt...

History of Pakistan

BACKGROUND TO PARTITION

The concept of a separate Muslim "nation" or "people," qaum, is inherent in Islam, but this concept bears no resemblance to a territorial entity. The proposal for a Muslim state in India was first enunciated in 1930 by the poet-philosopher Muhammad Iqbal, who suggested that the four northwestern provinces (Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, and the North-West Frontier Province) should be joined in such a state. In a 1933 pamphlet Choudhary Rahmat Ali, a Cambridge student, coined the name Pakstan (later Pakistan), on behalf of those Muslims living in Punjab, Afghan (North-West Frontier Province), Kashmir, Sind, and Balochistan. Alternatively the name was said to mean "Land of the Pure." (H.R.T.)

According to a new report published by UCL’s Department of Economics and Centre for Research Immigration to the UK has made a positive contribution to the average wage increase experienced by non-immigrant workers.

sorry Z,but thats BS,wages havnt increased significantly in years,in fact, wages for the type of jobs most Poles and other immigrents start off in are actually much smaller now. Example,a warehouse worker in the late 90s was on about £7.50- £8.00 an hour, now the average wage is just over £6.00.

I have heard that lots of job agencies underpaid immigrants. Especially those that offer temp jobs. They deduct money for accomodation, transport etc...

So you think that agencies should offer the accomidation for free then ?? And why shouldnt they pay for the transport costs, every english person has to...

I agree with you. But some job agencies deduct to MUCH, so those people do not earn NMW. I do not mind job agencies, I do not mind when I need to pay for my travel and accommodation but agencies they should comply with NMW...

Why misleading?

do you think that not getting NMW is only a problem od immigrants or it is common also among Britons as well? mayby it is a matter of age or personal circumstances, not knowing your rights???

Now how did we get from the minimum wage rate to Pakistani's fighting for Britain in WWII ;)

Because the ignorant and stupid turn every single thread on here into a Pole bashing debate. You could start a thread on Zebras, and soon enough "noimmigration" and others would soon have it swung around to there being too many immigrants in this country.

It's very very sad, as this used to be a place I enjoyed coming to, now I only pop in briefly, see if there's a new thread, and read until it starts descending into racist ranting... then I leave.

Sad really, as I am sure any newbies coming here are going to be so impressed with the level of hatred seen on here.

so I am wondering what is a normal pay rate for a Brit?
an average one??

I have read somewhere that an average Polish salary in the UK is 1100 pounds per month, Poles in the UK tend to work long hours, that is why it is so high. It is a pity that many Poles do look for a better job and keep badly paid works... and sometimes work under NMW...

Do you really think this is a good salary in the UK? Assuming that you mean after tax and other deductions its still not so good. Try living in London and and see how far that would take you.

Living anywhere but London and getting £1100 a month after tax is pretty damn good.

between wehrmach in 39 and in 41 or 43.

It makes no difference for Poland anyway because they had already been knocked out of the war in September 1939!
