When it comes to the question, which country had a bigger impact on the world, we could say without a doubt that Great Britain wins hands down. Which doesn't mean that Poles didn't have anything to be proud of, because we have.

Personally I'm surprised that so many of you took seriously this tread. I mean, common. The arguments ranged from polish women being good wives to Polish Kings policy towards religious minorities in XVI century Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Woahh!

I think I know who is one of those PF freelancers who get paid by Admin for their contribution to PF.

Nicely summarised, imo.

Matyjasz, I didn't take the thread seriously, its just that sometimes it feels so nice to give some of the more arrogant Poles a taste of their own medicine :)

Sometimes, this is how I see Polish people:
Irishman: God, I love orange juice
Englishman: Me too, I love orange juice and I like apple juice
American: Yea, I love apple juice, don't love OJ tho
Australian: I don't like either, but I enjoy cranberry juice
French: I like all 3
German: I love all 3!
Polish: POLAND HAS THE BEST JUICE IN THE WORLD, RA RA RA. ALL OTHER JUICE IS SH1T COMPARED TO POLAND, RA RA RA. WHEN YOU DRINK POLISH JUICE, YOUR WHOLE BODY HAS NINE ORGASIMS, AND IF YOU DRINK NON-POLISH JUICE, YOUR TEETH ROT AND YOU SH1T YOURSELF INVOLUNTARILY, RA RA RA

;)

But we all know that Poland DOES have the best juice in the world.

What's your point?

;-)

But we all know that Poland DOES have the best juice in the world.

Plus those cardboard boxes. You can't beat a polish juice cardboard box. All the other cardboard boxes are inferior. I thought it was obvious.

You will have to come up with a different example, dannyboy. ;)

Maybe but Soviets would not be defeated either if alone while US would be probably defeated.

if we would be defeated then only because of logistics. Soviets wouldn't have to ship war equipment and troops over seas like we would. Simple is that. The only reason why Germans lost the war against the Soviets is because of dumba** Hitler trying to invade them in the Winter and not because of the military strength of the Soviets. I understand many of you guys still got that propaganda bulls*it about Soviets being invincible in your heads due to your pro Soviet education until 1989 but the truth is that Soviets wouldn't stand a chance to beat down the Germans without our help. No point to argue about it.

Remember the Soviets came relatively close to being defeated by Finland. This of course enboldened Hitler: he fired his top brass, pushed quickly east, took more and more Russian territory and extended his supply lines. It's unlikely (not implausible) but the US probably would not have made this kind mistake.

Soviets were eventually successful defending their own land in freezing tempertures. However, even today, once off the Steppe, I don't know how formidible they really are. Also, a large part of the US can be extremely cold and is not as daunting to a lot of US soldiers.

The invasion started in the summer.Hitler was not a dumbass and used the element of surprise.

Hitler was not a dumbass

no he wasn't just a dumba**, you're right about that, he was a freaking psycho. He made millions of people (including his own folk) unhappy. If he was so smart then why the hell he tried to invade so many countries at the same time? How stupid is that? lol

then why the hell he tried to invade so many countries at the same time? How stupid is that? lol

Because he had to defeat them all.Think how much time Hitler had to achieve his goals before western allies and Soviet Union strengthened.

Because he had to defeat them all.

lol, but not all at the same time. This is what I call stupid.
No doubt, Germans were very strong at that time but to start war with everybody around at the same time was just dumb.

Ironside

Please stop calling Dannyboy "boyo",thats what Welsh people say,not Irish,if Dannyboy really was an Irish "Boyo" you'd have something to worry about old fella :)

pro Soviet education until 1989

What a pillock,What pro Soviet education do you imagaine was taught in NATO member states schools you muppet. Fact,80 % of arms shipped to the soviet union from the US were kept in storage untill the 1990s,still in origional US factory wrapping. You gave them shermans, the soviets thought they were crap and only used a handfull in the final stages of the war. The only advantage given by lend lease to the soviet union was in logistics, with the GMCs and Studabakers the soviets were able to get to Berlin in April 45,without them they would have been there a bit later. So taking your "what if " view of history, where the US ignored Hitlers declaration of war,I concede no Normandy landings,so therefore no "race for Berlin" ie,USSR could have taken its time and still crushed the nazis.

Poland was a NATO member before 1989? They didn't even join until 99'. He obviously meant prior to 1989. Ever seen a Polish May Day parade on the telly from the 80's?

Do you have an IV of booze going into your arm as you type on this thing? You really are quite the clown aren't you?

very rarely Im afraid.......Seeing as at least half of the people in this debate who are stating the Soviets would have defeated the germans without Uncle Sams "help" were born and raised in Western Europe,ie NATO, I think its you who fails to understand things old bean.

HHmmm, read again fella, I suggest its you and freebird hooked upto a moonshine drip :) He may have meant just what you said, but he missed the point that the people he claimed lived under communism in the 8os did infact live in the free west....

well, I'm saying, no western front and Soviets wouldn't stand a chance against Germans. Look even with our (allied forces) help how long it took so many countries to beat down the Nazis and now you're saying the Soviets would have done it themselves, no way man.
