uk music venues catering for polish market?

as some of you know i have a good friend who has successfully established himself as a musician in poland

we are putting together dates and venues for a uk tour this summer - so far he has gigs in glasgow, edinburgh, london and portsmouth but would obviously like to play venues in between...

can people suggest venues in the uk that might be worth approaching?

T - is there anywhere in donny that you can think of?

they are a 5 piece band and describe themselves as playing acid jazz, funk, nu beat, big beat and old school funky hip hop...

Checked out the web :)

will have a listen tomorrow to their style :)

But here is a few just off top of my head to get you started i suppose will keep moseeing about for you though ... its not a problem

In Doncaster here are some venue places:

The Dome -- big names have played here recently radio 1 and the kaiser chiefs (videos can been seen on youtube)

Camelots -- converted church fair size -- i would probably for the bands style -- recommend here personally

The Boiler Rooms -- have live Dj sets mainly and i mean by Dj the big name ones

The Priory -- sounds like a rehab clinic -- but featured in the recent NME magazine

If you want contact details let me know or anything i will happily obtain for you

I would say Doncaster College but the venue hall even though had room for a stage and recently had local band M*101 who are hitting the big time now and bigged up by Radio 1 played there prior to Chris Moyles coming i dont think the polish community of doncaster would all fit lmao

No problems it is quite a good venue in Doncaster personally i have been there when it used to be a club venue. But live acts play there nowadays and as i say it is a fair size roomy.

Close to the centre of town but not in the main thrust of it.

Night & Day Cafe on Oldham Street Manchester always has live bands on and gets a good crowd.

Also try Dry Bar - Oldham Street Manchester - was Tony Wilsons bar back in the day - not sure what the crowd is like these days not been in for ages - usually the well connected kind if you know what I mean

the basement at joshua brooks in manchester. really nice intimate venue usually hosting nights varying from techno, hip hop, electro, jazzy stuff.

also the czech bar is good (manchester). they have a lot of the stuff you mentioned on there every week with a nice mixed crowd of people there.

also 'the attic' on oxford road (underneath the trainstation) is very popular with varying music styles on offer.
