The best place to buy a house in the UK

You've never heard of it because it's a small town. I bet you've not heard of Freckleton or Poulton-Le-Fylde but if you ask anyone in Blackpool and Preston if they've heard of Kirkham & Wesham they will tell you they have and could point you the direction to it. There is no crime here. I've lived here a year and I've not seen anything, not a fight, no vandalism, nothing. Some teenagers knocked on my door the other day and handed my keys that I left in the latch from the night before. It's that kind of a community. Does that happen in London, Birmingham, Nottingham and Manchester? Does it ****! The teens would have nicked your keys AND your friggin car! The crime here is lower than average for the UK. Virtually zero. You can check the Fylde Borough council website for statistics. There is alot to do here. There are alot of amateur football teams here for a small community. There are swimming baths, sports facilities, golfing range, the gym, a local football team, Kirkham & Wesham FC that are about to be promoted to the North-West Counties Football League division 1. A local team that are heading to Wembley for the FA Vase cup final. This is a team that used to be a pub team.

You say that the fact Kirkham is better than London or Birmingham is nonsense yet you haven't heard of Kirkham let alone visited? I've visited Birmingham frequently and I've visited London.

I'm from the midlands and live in London. Brum is a dive full of ugly buildings, people and accents. London is the same but with nicer buildings and the added 'bonus' of tourists.

I think people here are basically arguing with AriseStGeorge just for the sake of it as they resent the 'tone' of his arguments rather than the content. Multicultural communities are almost always not nice areas to live. If someone can think off a pleasant one then feel free to name it.

'White flight' exists. This is not to say white=good everyone else= bad, it just means that the majority of nice areas are not really multicultural as multiculturalism doesnt create community cohesion it destroys it by creating divisions.

Not wishing to antagonise, but can you name one 'community' that is multicultural? I cant, and I've lived in cities throughout Britain all my life. Where there are 'communities' there is no 'community'.

I think the point made by AriseSt George was valid i.e. that ethnicity is a factor in social cohesion. Its not the only factor but it is a valid one. To criticise him for pointing this out and saying that he is misinformed when talking of a white idyll is as misinformed in imagining a multicultural idyll in which white people walk down the street 'high-fiving' rastafarians.

The minority of white criminals is not a culture. The majority of blacks of stinking attitudes and think they're superior. Nope,I live in a small english market town with about maybe a dozen non white residents........I have lived in multi cultural areas ,Ive lived in predominantly non white areas. I never had any trouble in those areas,I have however been burgled by white kids,in my youth mugged by whites,had a close friend raped by a white and seen plenty of white on white crime. You li'l child have obviously not lived in the real world......

I lived in an army camp in Omagh and was back and forth to Salisbury as that's where the barracks were. You're picking things for the hell of. I'll swear on my mother's life on that if you want me to. Army wives lived in Northern Ireland to be with their loved ones. They were protected by the British army but were restricted to wander as they could have led the IRA to the British base. Brum exists in the west midlands, west midlands in the midlands. Straford upon Avon is in the midlands and so is Stoke. Different accents and people. Calling me a Brummie would be like calling you a scouser. :)

Its a subtle difference isnt it. I'm not strictly a Brummie either, but who the hell knows where the Black country is, apart from those of us fortunate enough to have been born and bred there. The West Midlands is the true midlands, the other areas are mere pretenders with less salubrious accents. Yeh ok whatever mate. I lived in Northern Ireland with my mum and other army wives inside the army barracks. I've been on puma and chinook helicopters. I was about 3 or 4 years old. This clearly shows that you know nothing about the occupation of Northern Ireland. If you want to challenge what I say I recommend you go to that army forum I posted and discuss it with them. I'll bet you £1000 that the troops that served in Northern Ireland will back me up. Go on run along :) It's a promise. Fool.

This to me is the crux of the problem with this thread. Arise St George cannot simply claim to be describing his community, he is clearly expressing his own views that non-whites and asians are directly responsible for crime. This is not only completely idiotic, but actually illegal. The result of this is a complete derailing of the discussion into pointless arguing over points which are of no use whatever to the original poster.

This should have been stopped straight away by some quick pruning. This is what moderation should be.
To be honest the complete lack of moderation on this site is really starting to put me off coming back. All too often a perfectly good discussion is ruined by idiots running amok wth no control whatsoever.

Anyway, to get back to the original point, I would offer up Scotland as a good place to come to. I'm in Aberdeen, and it has everything. A beautiful place, friendly people and plenty of jobs. Unemployment is currently less than 1 percent. Houses can be a bit pricey, but I reckon it's worth it.
