The best place to buy a house in the UK

Keep away from big cities.

What a pathetic, bridge-n-tunnel point of view. You really are a provincial dullard... I bet you live on some bland new-build estate and your idea of a hot date is dinner at Brewers Fayre.

Hello.
I'm thinking to buy a house in UK.

Surely the moral of this thread is "Don't buy a house near Arise_St_George". :D

Yup....NI has just as many yucky places to live in as anywhere

Antrim, small town,17 miles from Belfast.
Yucky places...exactly!That's why I want to move from here as soon as it's possible..

No,it's not too bad ;-) and I'm sure there are worst places ;-) I live in catholic area, safe for me,friendly neighbours...but...

This is protestants town, most areas are protestants, just a few are catholics or mixed.Marked areas, everywhere flags, painted (on british or irelands colours) lamp posts, kerbs etc.

There is bad history,too.

What about Belfast city, wouldn't you feel happier there? I visited there for the first time last year... really enjoyed it, and it reminded me of Glasgow (where I come from originally).

You know..I don't like Belfast city.I was there many, many times and I really don't like it. For shoping, for visit ..ok..but not to live there..

I never was in Glasgow, maybe Balfast looks familiar, but I'm thinking about small, nice town where I could move ;-)

Stir things up? I merely described my community. Like it or not, it's the community I live in and it is highly suspicious of non whites. Non whites don't settle here. Alot of people that know Kirkham & Wesham will tell you it's not a suitable place for Asians or blacks to LIVE. Even Asians in Preston will tell you. Visit, yes ok but not to live.

It's a perfect community for a white person, but non-whites won't feel welcome. There have been a few blacks that moved here but moved out within months. They come and go.

Replace the word 'white' with 'asian' and you could be describing parts of Bradford, Oldham, Birmingham or Hounslow. I suspect some people here wouldnt get quite so upset by this.

Now Im going to call you a twat for that comment, since you seem to think that all people that come off council estates are scum.

Not all, but certainly a lot. Those of us that come from council estates get the f*ck out as soon as our income multiples allow.

2-3 bedrooms and she has a small baby so I'm supposing she's looking for a home to bring a family up in. I'm not sure whether she is fussy about where in the country that is.

As for Kirkham there is a dirty great big open air prison there so you are more likely to get some scum bag escaping and robbing your house....

There is a prison but not one prisoner has escaped from it since it 1st opened. There's more chance of being robbed, raped, windows smashed, attacked or even seeing a pig fly in a council estate than a prisoner escaping a Kirkham prison. IF the prisoner did escape the prison then he/she wouldn't stay in Kirkham or Wesham as he/she'd be arrested within minutes.

What a pathetic, bridge-n-tunnel point of view. You really are a provincial dullard... I bet you live on some bland new-build estate and your idea of a hot date is dinner at Brewers Fayre.

The crime statistics are much higher in a big city than there are in small towns like Kirkham and Wesham. Kirkham and Wesham have virtually ZERO crime. You can walk the streets without feeling uneasy. Big cities such as Nottingham, Manchester, London and Birmingham are crime ridden. I've lived in big cities. I know the difference. I actually live in a decent town with alot of people and alot to do, with 2 cities right next to me. 10 mins west is Blackpool, 10 mins east is Preston. I go to Preston AND Blackpool nightclubbing but I also go drinking in Kirkham.

Thats funny :) I think his user name probably says it all.

What does my username tell you? What does St. George's day tell you? What does the St. George flag show you? :)

Surely the moral of this thread is "Don't buy a house near Arise_St_George". ">That's fine lol. There are many similar towns like this in the UK. This town is one of the best you can live in. A true English town. I bet you'd **** yourself walking alone in your city at night ;)

There is no best place to buy a house in the UK, it all depends on what u want. Let's agree that Nottingham isn't one of them.

One of the best places to buy a house in England is Dover because there is a port and you can escape quickly from all those hoards of Polish coaches full of Poles invading our once beautiful land.

nah, your just a tosser........but,I suppose I must be wrong because Im white and live in a "white" area.....georgie boy,you really did bump your head at birth didnt you......acording to you white areas are crime free.....then all of a sudden, council estates are full of crime....make your mind up simpleton...

Oh,and BTW,re the earlier stuff about the rascism...its been proven time and again that certain mods are blind to this unless its percieved as anti polish "rascism" ,ah well, its "their" country/men that are shown in a crap light alongside "our" cavemen,so,fek it.

Avoid the north west like the Plague! I'm from that area and I only go back when I really have to, South west is nice, Lincolnshire is cheap and Shropshires ok with nice countryside and good access to Birmingham, I also really wouldnt buy yet give it a few years and see what happens with the house prices.

good access to Birmingham

What the flippin' heck is that supposed to mean?

Avoid the north west like the Plague!

But there's some lovely bits in the Lake District.

For an American, London has good access to Birmingham. It's all relative.

Cumbria is so beautiful I've heard

True the lake district is pretty! If you live in shropshire access to Birmingham is quite a bonus as there are many more oppotunities for work than in telford, cannock, shrewsbury etc all connected by good roads, Birmingham is a s---thole though and not worth living in!

I'm not in the right state of mind at the moment. I've had a few drinks but I'll attempt to respond to these...

nah, your just a tosser........but,I suppose I must be wrong because Im white and live in a "white" area..-.

Call me a tosser all you like mate. It does not bother me at all. I'll agree with you. I'm a tosser, a wanker, a twat, a prick, a pillock, whatever makes you feel good. I can name you 30+ places that are majority white, some ALL-WHITE that have more or less ZERO crime. Can you give me any "multicultural" areas that have the same record of crime as these? Can you name mixed areas that the people would feel safe to walk the streets at nights? You're too politically correct and that's what's damaging my country. I'm not politically correct. I speak my mind, I don't give a toss. Like it or lump it. I agree it's not the colour of skin but it's the CULTURE. Blacks have a culture of tribes. In Africa they massacre, rape and steal from each other. They belong in tribes. Muslims have allsorts or cultures. In Pakistan they have the culture of arranged marriages and if you go against family values the girl will be killed. If you convert from Islam according the Quran you are an apostate and would have to be stoned to death. There is alot of anti-western mentality. Multiculturalism doesn't work. I never asked for my country to become multicultural nor did they ask me or anybody else.

omg lol that is the funniest thing I've heard all day! I've lived in big cities all my life - living in south London may be scary for hicks like you, but not for me!

You're bound to feel safe sitting away typing on your computer all day... You try my town and you will feel the difference. London is a great place to visit but a s--hole to live in.

Classy bloke!

You can say that again. Northern women are absolutely stunning!

Avoid the north west like the Plague!

Avoid the North West? Such as Blackburn, Bolton, Liverpool, Manchester and Preston? You can say that again. But you have to be more specific as there are many towns in the North-West that have zero crime such as mine. I bet you've never been to Freckleton, Kirkham, Wesham, Lytham, Warton, Poulton-Le-Fylde etc..? Birmingham is just as bad as Nottingham if not WORSE.

excuse me but neither Birmingham nor London are '*********', they are Englands two biggest and finest cities. Its all a matter of opinion, but some of the provincial places mentioned on this thread are the pits imo. Those people who hate Birmingham have either never spent much time there or dont understand the accent... so sod off the lot of you.

Birmingham and London ARE s-holes. I've been to Birmingham MANY times. I used to go to Birmingham alot to visit my then girlfriend who lived in West Bromwich. It's a dump. It's worse than Nottingham! As for London, like I said it's a great place to visit but a s-ite place to live. How often do you get gun shootings in London? Often. How often does someone get raped in London. Very often. How often do you get robbed in London? Very often. It's a s-hole. Great place to visit but a s-thole to live in.

and you live where exactly?? somewhere near Blackpool isnt it.. which is not exactly centre of the universe is it. Anyway, you are entitled to your opinion as I am entitled to mine... now get back to your working mens club.

Actually I was born in West Bromwich and I have lived in London for 20 years and never been robbed.. ever!

I live in Kirkham as I keep saying... lol...! It's between Preston and Blackpool. A small, safe, friendly, fun community with some stunning women. Blackpool on the left, Preston on the right and Manchester in the middle. Take your pick to go nightclubbing. There's no fear in my community. Why can't anyone accept that you cannot get any better than Kirkham/Wesham? You should be proud that England have these places! You have an option of a safe community where your children will grow up with respect rather than hang on street corners drinking alcohol, taking drugs, beating bystanders. Working mens club? I'm 22 :)

I lived in Nottingham for 8 years and have never been shot, stabbed, beaten but it's still the gun capital of Britain. The danger is still there. There's still people that fear walking the streets of Nottingham at night. London is even worse for crime.

I live in Kirkham as I keep saying...

but thats precisely the problem.. I have never heard of it! I have been to both Blackpool and Preston and actually they arent bad.. I have no problem with small towns, although I dont think they are the idyllic retreats that you portray. Generally I have seen more crime in small places than in big cities, because the youths have nothing to do but turn to alcohol, drugs and crime. Anyway to say that Kirkham is better than London or Birmingham is just nonsense in my opinion... If Kirkham is so fantastic and the women are so great what the hell are you doing on an international forum.. by rights you shouldnt even know where Poland is, let alone be interested in it.. unless you've got Polish totty in your town, which I imagine is the case.
