Thanks.

I'm going to Lodz to see friends and I will hopefully make it to a few places I'm like to visit Krakow and Warsaw but I'm open to anything so I'll see what happens!

Yes it will, although as I've mentioned already I've had alot of Polish friends over the years.

I'm nervous (in a good way) because I've heard so much about Poland and now I'm going!

ahhhhhhh!

You will love it. The only advice that I can give you is take a good electrical multi-adapter with you. It is mostly 2 pin plugs there, but in many hotels there are sockets with an extra pin ( I assume for earthing ) and I had trouble connecting anything to it.

Thanks for the advice. :) I have 2 adapters already so it shouldn't be a problem and I'll be staying at the technical university digs so I hopefully won't have to contend with too much electrical tomfoolery!

Excellent advice, they rarely fit well.
Enjoy your trip cjjc. Are you going to do any courses whilst you are there?

I doubt it but we will see how things are when I get there.

Take a bottle of English beer , it will amuse the Polish people who will think its water compared to the Polish stuff....

Don't forget your login/password details to Polish Forums :)

(I always make some random passwords on my comp and when I have to use another one I never remember them).

You don't need to take anything with you to impress anybody. Just go and have fun. You'll not be hungry or thirsty.

I've started drinking Polish beer over here, and I'm not the only one judging from the fact that Tyskie is now one of the top 10 selling brands in the UK (which can't all be down to Polish immigrants after a taste of home!) Give us an option that's stronger, cheaper and tastes better than most English beer and what do you expect?

Best of luck on your first trip to Poland!
