Airports in Poland

The map shows all the aiports in Poland. Many of the airports showed below are not used or are military and private aiports so are not open for the public. They are the aiports with both paved and unpaved runways (paved - hard surface and unpaved - soft surface only for lighter aircrafts). There are also several roads in Poland used as emergency military runways. It's usually easy to recognise them, they're very wide with no trees surrounding them and have appropriate marking.

List of civil airports open for public use by traffic size:

Warsaw
Kraków
Katowice
Gdańsk
Wrocław
Poznań
£ódź
Rzeszów
Szczecin
Bydgoszcz
Zielona Góra

As far as I know Szczytno-Szymany is currently not open to traffic. And that map is by no means exhaustive, I can name at least three paved airfields (one open and used, one open but landings at own risk and one closed due to reconstruction) and one grass (abandoned last time I checked).

We would all appreciate this if you named the missing aiports... This is what the thread is for.

The paved ones are:
Modlin (closed for reconstruction);
Arlamow (open but but neither maintained nor supervised, landings at own risk);
Lubin (open and used).

The grass one is Oława (not in use, as far as I know).

There's also a reserve/emergency military airfield on the road from Bytow to Słupsk (near to Dębnica Kaszubska).

Is Radom a military airport?

Yes, or at least it used to be. My uncle used to be based there. I believe there are plans for it to become an airport for "low-cost" flights to Warsaw. Though knowing Poland, this will happen in about 10 years time; by which time, the low-cost flight era will be so over, lol.
