Greetings Everyone,

In three weeks I'll be making another trip to Poland to see my lovely girlfriend in Warsaw. My last trip back in April, my girlfriend and I visited Wroclaw for few a days. Let me tell you we had an awesome time. Wroclaw is a vibrant city with lots of life, impressive bridges and architecture plus a cool nightlife. It really is a jem of a city. Our hotel (The Sofitel) was a stone's throw away from the Rynek Square which we really enjoyed. Of all the cities that I've visited so far in Poland....(Warsaw, Krakow, Zakopane), Wroclaw is my favorite so far. I'm definiely looking forward to visiting again.

On this visit, my girl and I are planning a three day trip to Gdansk. I'm hearing that Gdansk is becoming a very popular city to see these days We hope to visit the sister cities and beaches as well. We're looking for reasonably priced places to stay in Gdansk. We were thinking of staying at the Mercure Hevelius Gdansk Hotel. Has anyone stayed here? I didn't see many reviews on this hotel but it seems to be in a great location and not too expensive. Any feedback on this hotel or any other mid-priced, centrally located hotels would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Mark

Mark - here is a site which may give you an idea. As with any reviews, I would take them with a pinch of salt - [tripadvisor/Hotels-g274725-Gdansk_Baltic_Coast-Hotels.html]

I am aware that you specified a hotel stay, however, check them out, you never know!

Enjoy your holiday!

Thank you Equator and szkotja2007 for your replies. My girlfriend decided she wanted to stay someplace close to the beach instead of in central Gdansk. So I made reservations for us at the Novotel Gdansk Marina Hotel. The hotel is right on the beach and not too far from the main attractions

My question is does anyone know or stayed at this hotel?

Thank you for your feedback Wildrover. I appreciate it. The cleanliness was my main concern. I couldn't find much in reviews on this hotel. My girlfriend and I don't care that it isn't a 5 star hotel. As long as the rooms/bathrooms are clean and has good service, we're good to go!!

Hey Mark.

As far as hotels go in Gdansk, I would recommend the Aureus- it's a newly renovated hotel with VERY comfortable rooms situated in a quiet area but just 5-10mins from all the main attractions. The Hanza & Heveliusz are way over-priced in comparison.

I think it was also mentioned in another thread but there's a very highly-rated itinerary building company called 1stopJamboree now operating in Gdansk & they may be worth checking out too.

Hope this is of some use to you & enjoy your visit to the Trojmiasto,

Rob :)

Thanks TheNET81. However, we've already booked our reservation at the Novotel Gdansk Marina Hotel. Like I said in my earlier post, My girlfriend decided that she wanted to stay at a hotel that was close to the beach. I was just trying to some feedback/opinions from people who have stayed at this hotel.
