What is happening during the Easter time in Krakow? We stay in Krakow and plan to do some sightseeing as well. Does the shop close on Easter Monday? Any exciting event in the city centre? Thanks...

I strongly advise you to go to Rekawka Medieval Festival which takes place annually on Tuesday after Easter.
Read about it : cracowonline.com/1057-The_Rekawka_Holiday.html
There is always a battle and many medieval customs. Lots of fun.

Merged: How is Easter weekend in Krakow?
Is it convenient to visit Krakow in the Easter Weekend? Or is it too quiet? Are most attractions and shops closed? What about night clubs during the Easter? Is the city's night life normal? I am considering to visit Krakow during Easter but I am not sure if this is a good time to do it?

Among other things, there is a wide choice of live entertainment facilities and jazz clubs in particular are especially popular. However, bear in mind that Krakow's nightlife is highly seasonal, since it's is the typical University town which empties during Easter, Christmas, summer break and so on. In these periods, students are replaced by young edonists coming from all over Europe, so that the party can go on.

Good link... so I guess the answer is that it's gonna be packed with tourists with little or no students at all?
Anyone can confirm this? Maybe Easter break is shorter and students tend to stay...

I prefer not to hang around with tourists or noisy drunk people in stag parties! I would prefer to visit the city when there is a normal night life and visit a night club when there is a nice salsa night. I also want to visit places around the city when it is more active. I may wait till warmer times and instead head to the mediterrean sea! :)
Most students leave the city and go back home. Hardly anyone goes to any pubs or clubs around easter. So really only tourists are in the city. Quiet time of year in Kraków bar the drunken Brits and Irish.
well, i have finally decided to go to spain instead and spend the easter weekend on the beach.
but i would really like to visit poland may be in may or june. i want to try krakow first and warsaw later! i want to visit the world famous salt mines! :)
and i would also love to meet some nice polish girls to dance some salsa and latino rythms! :)

Hello!
Can anyone help me to find out if shops and museums are open or not on Easter weekend?
Thanks a lot.
