Best way to get from London to Olsztyn

Hi there - I hope that this isn't too much of a dumb question, but how do I get from London to Iława, near Olsztyn?

I am guessing that I'll have to fly from Gdansk and then get a train... (would rather not hire a car and drive it). Anyone got any thoughts on this journey? Is it going to be epic, with lots of changes etc?

fly from Gdansk

I think you mean fly TO Gdansk , not from...? But in any case your best bet for such a journey is either pogo stick , or space hopper , if you can find one in good condition.....?

Seriously tho , Both places ( Gdansk , and Olsztyn ) are not so far from me , and i would be quite happy to pick you up at the airport , and take you to Olsztyn for the price of a bit of diesal fuel...

Normally i would be happy to do it for free , but my finances will not be in so good shape after my trip to UK to get another car , as mine is in need of replacement...

Of course it depends on when you want to go there , i collect the new car in about two weeks , and i am up to my neck in being part of a film at the end of may to begining of june , does this fit in with your plans...?

I do have the Harley of course , but it might not be your cup of tea , and it has absolutly no luggage space..!

The new car is a Jeep cherokee , so plenty of room for tons of luggage , quite comfortable , and being a diesal quite economic on fuel....

I can,t advise on travel by bus or train in Poland , as during the five years here i have never used them , my first experiance will be during the trip to Gdansk to get a flight to Liverpool to collect the car....Let me know what you think....?

I see on my map that there is a rail line from Gdansk to l£awa , which is 32 kms from Olsztyn , but as i said i have no experiance of traveling on any train in Poland , so , can,t advise on how many times you need to Change , or if it is an easy journey or not... I am sure there will be somebody who is a expert on such matters tho....I have sent you a pm with contact details should you need them...

I live in Olsztyn and when we fly out of Gdansk we take the train to Olsztyn, there are maybe 3 or 4 direct trains from Gdansk a day. It takes about 3 hrs or so. I hope that helps!
