Can anyone tell me what is roughly the average time for a probate to come through in Poland.

It could take several months up to a few years... Polish law has a lot of formal and unnecessary "procedures"...

Probate is a legal procedure for settling the affairs of an individual who has died (the "decedent") and for transferring the decedent's property to the rightful beneficiaries.

Thanks for that. I was told around 4 months in my case, which I guess is fast by Polish standards. In Australia I have been told its usually a few weeks at most.
