I am English I own land in Poland, I also own a flat and a nice summer house.

Why shouldn't I ???? I lived in Poland 13years paid higher taxes than many Poles, why shouldn't I own property, I still don't get to vote though. Poles in the UK are given that right the moment they arrive.

I have Polish friends that own property here in the UK great, best of luck to them.

I would have no problem if the British Government banned foreign people buying properties in the UK.

Opinion is cheap, what we are talking about is real estate in Poland, I'm sure if people from a foreign country were buying up real estate in the UK and pushing prices up, you would hold my opinion. The Brits/Irish in Poland have no intention of putting into Polish society apart from cashing in and then returning home. The poles in the UK are just doing the crap work which is beyong the dignity of the Brit to do.( a repeat of the situation of what occurred in the US with the Negro population)

Example:

Polish person says: those damn black f*ckers, they are dirty, lazy, blablabla. Homosexuals, they all should burn in hell and it's ok if you beat them up because they are sick. We are the only normal ppl in the world and we are always the victim of evil other ppls: first it was the Austrians, then the Germans, then the Russians...and more of the usual blablabla.

Other, non-Polish person makes harmless joke about Poles.

Polish person reacts: you discriminate! I go to court, you're a racist! We have suffered so much 100 years ago and you from the Western world owe me and all the Polish to give us jobs, houses and help us develop our poor Central European country.

And so on, and so on...

This is just an example in extremis, but I have seen more or less mild versions of this many times.

Well, not quite. The negros were just unwanted, second class. My father to this day does not like black people. He says "he's not MY president".

People are people no matter where you are. We really don't like the idea of the "other group". Your neighbors are probably likable, but that new comer has got to go. Well its the same thing EVERYWHERE. I have lived all over these United States and have never felt at home. I now live in the Ozark mountains of Missouri. going on 15 years. And I do not have one friend close by. If your family has not lived in this area for at least 200 years and you do not own at least 100 acres of land your are dirt under the local peoples feet. I moved out of southern California because it was wall to wall houses and traffic for Hundreds of miles, from the Mexican boarder to Santa Barbara and then in from the sea. It was the same there, just more sophisticated. I don't like people moving into these mountains either. Unfortunately this is supposed to be "progress" and I am just getting older not better at everything. Complaining is not going to change anything.

These comments are blatantly racist - i.e she has singled out english people and blamed them for raising property prices. Its a racist slur and not based on even one single fact.

If Ola wants to be taken seriously she should come back here with facts - i.e. what percentage of polish property and land was purchased by english people in the last 3 years i.e 2007/2008 and the first half of 2009 these statistics are available. I think Ola would be surprised that the amount of english purchasing polish property would not even have a tangible figure and would only present a tangible figure if the word foreign was used and then it would probably only constitute 1/2%

The reality of property prices is a supply and demand issue and the people that ola should be addressing her anger towards are the greedy developers and the banks. If more people can get credit them more people can buy apartments - if there are 10 apartments and 20 people can get credit to buy them then the developer can name his price. the majority of these developers are Polish, not English and the greed is homegrown Polish capitalists.

When the Poles first came to Ireland I heard many people saying, oh the polish are coming to Ireland, working for less than the Irish and taking all our jobs. I heard this from people who would not do the jobs the polish would do. I defended the Poles from the racist and downright ignorant views of the Irish.

A good moderator on this site would not allow such racist ignorant unfounded remarks to be on this site - it gives the forum a downright bad name and if you want some jerry springer style site which gives biggots and racists free reign then so be it.

The likes of Ola needs to back up her argument with at least one actual fact.

For your information, I have just completed 13 apartments which have been built to a high standard and are priced between 2,900-3500 PLN per m2. I have been living in Poland for 7 years now, I have nearly 40 years of construction behind me and wanted to give the Polish people in my area a better choice and standard than the local developers were offering, at a much cheaper price. I have no intention of returning to the UK, Poland is my home and my family and friends are here. Do not try and judge everybody as being the same.

Racist opinions - that single out people because of their ethnic origin is considered as an act to incite racial hatred and I would like to point out that its highly illegal.

Klu klux clan, Nazis and many other obviously racist people also have their opinions however when your opinions incite racial hatred then if you want to make a valid argument then it needs to be backed up with facts. Without the facts you might look like a racist biggot. In my opinion Ola and You Bolek without the facts just appear as racist bitter biggots.

This post is promoting racial discrimation, i.e it singles out english people as the factor that is driving up property prices. Without any actual foundation in fact.

As I said the moderator on this site has responsibilities to manage the comments and ensure that blatant racists do not have a chance to air their harmful views. Someone may if this sort of activity continues decide to bring this forum to court for allowing people to incite hatred

So such thing as free speech. Post something that is criminal in one EU country and you can be extradited and jailed in another. Inciting racial hatred is a crime in the UK.

Two UK residents tried to escape to the US after running a racist website from the US - they were extradited back to the UK.
