What if Russia decide to liberate Scottland from England? Polish position

By force? Very unlikely. We all know that. Russia wouldn't dream of taking on England, or even Britain by force. It is well known that Britain doesn't lie down. Britain fights to the last man, as they did against the German occupation. Anyone taking on England ALONE is VERY unlikely. England has allies and the commonwealth. They wouldn't be allowed to fight alone. There are countries that will fight and die for the Queen. Anyone that attacks Britain is digging its own grave.

good night

Night night, Crowman. Chat soon!

Perhaps we can talk then about Russia's treatment of it's various different native ethnic groups and those outside of Russia that it has dealt with and continues to deal with, from the Ukrainians who are sort of Russian but sort of not, to the Hantis who had villages bombed by Russian planes because of issues relating to the Russian authorities treatment of school children, to the groups in the Caucasus who were relocated en masse Central Asia during times of "trouble", to the Nenets and others who are still facing severe environmental problems, acquisition of their land for use by the oil and gas industries, to the Poles, Slovaks, Czechs, Hungarians blah blah blah...

Or perhaps we could have a cup of tea and talk about how nice the weather is and where we've all been for our holidays this year.

Ignorant (unt, England or the UK?

Great to hear the "scottish" pound is stronger than the English.

And for all who says...Scotland wont vote for independance....nice words, but has it ever been put to practice?

They won't accept Scottish banknotes in my local bakers shop.
They make no mention of Northern Irish notes though.

England AND the UK has allies. Any attack on England then the rest of Britain will rise up.... It's not just Scotland and England that make up the UK...! We have countries abroad that will also rise up and fight for the Queen. England alone will never ever be allowed to fight its own battle like the old times. To attack ENGLAND you will face a war not only with England buta handful of other countries, especially the commonwealth...!

But this is a silly thread anyway. It's far from reality. I cannot think of any sane country that would dream of attacking any country in the UK, the US or any other technologically advanced country with masses of allies. That includes Russia. Of course they won't be afraid to attack the smaller countries such as Georgia and Chechnya as they can barely fight back.

i would say so, since the UK has just fcuked them over with regards to their pensions and their rights to reside in the UK...not sure they'll be in any rush to defend Queen & Country!

They join because their earnings are a huge source of income to Nepal. Out of tens of thousands who apply, only a few hundred will be accepted.

Plus the sultan of Brunei pays upto 38,000,000 pounds a year to have a regiment.

How exactly would Russia 'liberate' Scotland from England? We already have our own Parliament and the border will always be there. How would it tangibly manifest itself is what I'm asking. Many people already feel 'liberated' to a certain extent. I think u r talking about fully divesting itself of any English influence. Then, what would the Polish position be?

Hmm...well, the Wizzair and Easyjet flights would still continue :)

Liquidate the ruling elite, military officers and anyone who who wears glasses - the usual Russian way.

If Russia was under any misapprehension that their super MIG's and other fighter jets would have an easy day out, they can forget it. The British RAF is amongst the best in the world and we have some of the best pilots.

They'd have their work cut out to get in amongst us. We are a nuclear power too.

Anyway, such talk is pointless.

Russia wouldnt do it or succeed not because Britain's military is so great but because Russia's is so rubbish. I think most people's impression of Russia is somewhat inflated. A bit like some people's opinion of Britain's military might.

So does this mean that Russia won't be invading our shores any time soon then? Damn, how to crush a womans fantasies of all those fit soldiers :(

You ask any british soldier in ira, afghanistan etc. and they will all tell you that they are not there fighting and dying for the queen. Please stop this old fashioned, pompous ******** about the royals.

Its disgusting how the british government treat the gurkhas, these people have have fought and died in every british war for the past 150 years and we treat them worse than unskilled economic migrants and asylum seekers.

My dad was in the Light Infantry during the 70s until the early 90s. Nope he didn't fight for the Queen. He chose to serve his country. The Ghurkas also serve Britain. The Argentinians surrendered as soon as they heard that the Ghurkas were being deployed. They know how brutal the Ghurkas are.

You know squat mate... you know SQUAT. Do a little research and I'll put a few hundred quid on the table that you'll realise you're talking out of your arse. I'd do it for you but it 1:20am and I'm going to bed in a minute.

P.S An officer? Why is it that the Light Infantry RIP into officers. My dad cannot stand them. Apparently, they're "nothing." Do military officers engage in battle?
