Yes,under Caligula.

no, but for about 500 years before Caligula

Greece had direct democracy which means that people voted for each issue independantly, they did not vote for parties which took the decisions for them.So it was far less limited than today's indirect democracy.

No southern, it was hugely more limited, since they had slaves... oh.... and women who had no vote, and that was an obvious limiting factor.

since they had slaves...

Slaves were considered normal because slavery was allowed.I suppose with the same way of thinking US had hugely limited democracy till 1865,or better till 1914.

and women who had no vote,

Yes,because women did not do work outside the house. When did the women get the right to vote in the West?

What we need in the US. People who value education and want to be educated. People who feel a little less entitled and are willing to work for nearly no money. That is what we need.

two wrongs don;t make one right. Neither Greeks no Americans can brag about real democracy before the suffrage movement's success.

Yes,because women did not do work outside the house. When did the women get the right to vote in the West?

You are talking about reasons/possible justification why women had no right to vote. That doesn't change the fact that we can hardly talk about "superiority" of a democracy over another democracy if about 50% of the population cannot vote, hence Greek democracy was not superior to that in the US or anywhere we'd agree democracy exists.

US wasn't founded on Democracy, it was founded on cheap labor and people working hard without being paid for it.

Randal:
All welcome the dawn of global Socialism!
Randal, I don't know what you mean by this

Have you seen what lies on their meetings agenda? This global economic crisis has been a dream come true for the One Worlders. It fell right in their Leftist laps and they are taking full advantage. Now there’s even talk of a global currency… Like that sneaky little scumbag Rhom Emanuel says: every crisis presents great opportunities.

Mark the date on your calendar. This G20 will be the day remembered as the New Beginning.

US wasn't founded on Democracy, it was founded on cheap labor and people working hard without being paid for it.

Oh, stop.

How do you propose they eat and live? Are you advocating a return to slavery?

This global economic crisis has been a dream come true for the One Worlders.

I hate to tell you this, Randal, but the US has caused most of it. Would you WAKE UP to reality. You and others like you are living in a state of denial.

How do you propose they eat and live? Are you advocating a return to slavery?

We need to get back to basics. Food on the table, roof over our heads, and utilities. These lavish lifestyles everyone feels entitled to live at the expense of everyone else is what's causing the problems. If you don't have the money to live that way, you shouldn't be allowed to take out a series of loans just for that. Live within your means, in other words. You aren't entitled to loans. Hell.

And what state would you be living in?

Clearly he was speaking of you as you are one of the White Guilt-ridden PCers that spouts apologist nonsense.

Well, now you can see what pondlife your 'PC' trolling posts have attracted to the board. Methinks you should go back writing erotic fiction about meeting Russian nymphomaniacs under the arches and save the political commentry for non-virgins who gno of the world.

But you don't deny being one of the White Guilt-ridden PCers that spouts apologist nonsense. Me thinks you should be forced to go live in a black ghetto, to get in touch with your sympathizer side. I think you'd be cured in about three days. ;)

Instead of "If you got the money go right ahead" it should be "If you got the money without taking out ten loans at 15% interest rate, go right ahead".

Me thinks you should be forced to go live in a black ghetto,

I don't plan to live in one. Incidentally, what does this have to do with anything? What does this have to do with the G-20 or global economics?

Put it in this book:

The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream.

What does this have to do with the G-20 or global economics?

Hey, HB, I just realized that this is the Multicultural BS thread. So you with your Leftist G20 talk is what is out of place here while Bubble’s and my PC BS talk belongs. :x

And start again hunting and fishing.

The food's fresher that way. Good luck finding a pollution free stream.

G-20 is the epitomy of multiculturalism only it isn't truly multicultural because it so heavily biased in favor of the developed world. The G-20 truly control the world.

I heard that on CNN :)
My G-20 posts are totally at home on this mutlicultural thread, Randolin.

The G-20 truly control the world.

The world is controlled by Jews and Bildenberg.
HatefulBunch397  - | 658

Totally untrue, Southern. It's the G-20 who does the controlling. Yet they are about to have a row over in Europe. Theys aint happy about the global economy and I can't blame them!

bnp.org.uk/2009/04/british-people-have-been-ethnically-cleansed-from-heybrook-school-in-rochdale

this is the fruits of multi culturalism- the death of indigenous culture and populations, look at the cleansing of this school, look at the headwear worn by those poor kids- this is the culture now imported into large parts of England, so sad, do not tread the same route

A perfect example of what can happen to a country. It is like a cancer. It starts off slow, and then spreads until it destroys a nation.
