Really!!! , My grandchildren should have a different view I presume WHAt happens if a natural disaster like a volcano adds to the mess It is all our fault where we are today That Green bay football game di=d not have to be at night and wast more energy . Maybe we should eliminate all nighly sporting events ? That would save a bunch of energy. We are kicking the warming issue into overdrive because money rules and the planet suffers.

Has global warming affected Poland? And in what ways?

IMO Global Warming will affect Poland’s economy in a big way. There are IPCC plans to put a $30-$100 tax on every ton of CO2 and coal is the biggest CO2 polluter out of all the energy sources used by man today. Coal has been a pillar of Poland's economy, that's why taxes on CO2 will hurt them so much. Unfortunately, unless some radical steps are taken now, this will surely throw Poland down the bankruptcy path.

I agree. Unfortunately I believe that Greenpeace is against the nuclear energy and they are very powerful in Europe.

In England they are looking at coal mining as a source of energy, they have been looking at ways to be make it more eco friendly

I am beginning to wonder what snow looks like here. I am sure we will get one big one yet this year in between the warm cycles.

Thread attached on merging:
winter weather and global warming

Hi all,

I am still a newbie here, but just curious, I am a south african and of course married to a stunning pole girl. I am used to hot weather, when I got here I was excited, snow boarding and building snow man, It snowed awhile in lublin, I got 2 build my snow man, but he died next day. lol.

Can any1 tell me what effect global warming will have on the southern hemisphere?
tx all

at least you got to build the snow man . How would you like own a prosperous orchard as I do and not get any fruit. Problem is the weather cycles and I could only hope the trees somehow adapt to the cycles

Prince is certainly blowing a lot of hot air, enough to make a telling contribution to this phenomenon ;) ;)

If anybody talks to me about global warming I'll just slap them with my frozen hand, even with a glove on it :)

Ohhh, I would get up and help if I could. So much snow resulted in me taking the rug-rats tobogganing a couple of weeks ago in an effort to prove that I am not as young as I used to be. My back has been messed up ever since. Oh, how I wish I could help my wife shovel the snow!

Well it is better to buy smaller cars instead of starting new wars. I'd love to see lower and lower oil prices in Poland instead of Hummers in american movies. :)

The smaller cars do not work well in a foot of snow, you know. Yes, you guys pay too much for gas in Poland, but have you ever wonder why? It's not because there are three Hummers on the road...

Yeah I know...

If you prefere to buy more oil from foreign countries and have debt on your Balance of Payments ... take loans form Chinese ... sell your banks etc. ... it is your choice.

I drive a Pontiac Vibe about 24 mpg. It's kind of rare to see a Hummer to be honest. I've heard the company is near bankruptcy. Schwarzneggar runs his on kitchen grease. True story.

Here's a fuel saving car we have that will hopefully become popular:

I'm not saying global warming is a myth, but it can get ridiculously cold in North America.
European is sometimes very surprised by it.

Was Iraq about oil? Maybe a little; I'm not sure we've taken any of their crude though. It was mostly about positioning in that area, trying to find terrorists early. It was a mistake.. but I never voted for Bush.. lot's of people here did not. This is a huge place with a lot of dissent, very confusing sometimes.

Or the US could invade and "liberate" Canada, and in the mean time, bring the Oilsands back to America.

Hmmm, just like the British. You even hang their queen's picture up. ;- )

Shawn, we'll invade you when we're really pressed for oil. OK? :)

If you prefer to buy more oil from foreign countries

yeah, we do - it's cheaper at this time. When we exhaust it, we'll have ours (and from "invaded' Canada or Mexico), we'll not sell it cheap. No, Sir.Hehehehe.

I love that car, especially the older ones. The new ones do not look so hot...I'm disappointed in the mileage though. One of my coworkers drives it and she said it was great on milage..but 24 mpg does not sound too impressive. I was thinking of buying it, but maybe not...

Back on topic. Winters in Poland seem to be milder now and we have them brutal. It will change in a couple of years. The Europe will freeze and we'll go back to mild winters. Normal throughout centuries.
