What land back? That's like a bigoted Brit saying that Poles should get off our land and return the money to our economy. Absurd!

And while we're at it: Poland will of course give back Pomerania, Silesia and East Prussia to Germany... ;)

What do you care?
Must be something in the air always Germans and Germans, did anyone said "sorry Poland our fathers **** you for no reason, here your land back, and keep the rest as a compensation" - no, aways strut up.

Answer:

Sure, as they'll pay us for rebuilding of those lands, and if so, We want all pre-war lands, not only Lwów and area!:P

I-S (why not?)

What do you care?

I don't, but I find it amusing how you and some others have a discussion about bringing the Ukraine "heim ins Reich" (= Poland).

they'll pay us for rebuilding of those lands

Hasn't this been discussed in another thread? I thought that the Soviets already paid for the rebuilding... ;)

It looks like that's already going on.

42% Latinos in California, 30.1% in Arizona, 36% in Texas and 40% in New Mexico. Looks as if Mexico takes its territory back without a fight.

No comparison to Germany is right.
and if you liked the play, give us a cheer! :)

nope, and by the way do you actually believe that Soviets paid for anything except spy's and western liberals and minority movements ?

It looks like that's already going on.

Vive la procreation!
Fight back scrappy, defend your country with your.... DNA! :P

I-S (procreation - yeah!)

42% Latinos in California

Nooo :- ( They can have Texas though. I think that's funny. What do you expect when they make $60 bucks a week down there? It sucks though.. you only have immigration when there's lots of jobs.. not when there arent any.

FDR was a Democrat but he would have shut down that border by now. He was smart about that stuff.

How is Austrailia doing? I thought they were doing better than most during this whole crappy time.

Of course not. I know that they heavily exploited all countries under their control.

How is Austrailia doing?

They expect the recession to end in 2009, although our Treasurer is still justifiably concerned that Australia's mining and tourist industry might be harmed, and that this will wipe out billions of national income in the near future.

I appreciate your sentiment but neither me nor the vast majority of the Poles are ready to kick people out, there's people living in Lwów and you want to destroy their lives in the name of a historical sentiment, sorry but thats just not enough.

I want numbers! ;)

Apparently 68% didnt give a sh*t and the rest voted in the given order or on other countries.

Ironside, you apply dangerous logic. Why not give Silesia back to Germany? It was under German control for quite a while and I'd appreciate some more Germans here in the mix. I'm sick of dour old hags, give me some young German blood here.

Why not give Palestine their land back while you are at it? I don't see Poles being displaced by Ukrainians. I DO, however, see Palestinians being displaced by an occupier.

Why not move FORWARD and disprove the common (mis)perception that Poland is a backward-looking country!? Break from the past and move on.

Why not move FORWARD and disprove the common (mis)perception that Poland is a backward-looking country!?

Concise - perception of Poland has nothing to do with reality, so any steps taken in real world to change that perception is a waste of time.

The only thing that can influence shift of perceptions is success and money.
So, talking do not change a thing:)

Ironside, you apply dangerous logic.

Maybe, but knife can be dangerous too, yet knife is most common used tool on the planed.

Why not give Silesia back to Germany?

Well, why not?
I know, do you?

Why not give Palestine their land back while you are at it?

Well, give them back their lands Seanus, I'll not hold you back:P

that Poland is a backward-looking country!?

Poland is still polish.we should be grateful for that. When I look out of the window i see the Africa and Pakistan together,Poland is one of the few places left to escape.

Success and money? How about willpower, the will do so sth?

We control a knife as we control our own logic. Are you a dangerous knife user? ;) ;)

Oh, I know too. War changes things and they got their comeuppance. Still, they have
legitimate claims.

We all know that the power brokers don't have that collective resolve :( :(

Well, if you like homogeneity....

Aha, I see ;) ;)

I would say that Poland should be quite content with its current borders. You are not barred from visiting Ukraine, you know? ;) ;)

I would say that Poland should be quite content with its current borders.

They don't even care ......Lwów major Polish city survived the war almost intact to crumble in the hand of Ukrainians.

You are not barred from visiting Ukraine, you know? ;) ;)

Is that suppose to make me happy?
As a Scot you have no understanding of borders and lost lands :P
Seanus  15 | 19666
28 Oct 2009 /  #55
Well, maybe they didn't have the means or will to preserve it. Look at Gaza city by way of example. The Palestinians are deprived of the resources necessary for its upkeep.

How has it "crumbled" anyway?

Riiiiiiiight, of course I don't ;) ;) It's only supposed to state a right that you have :)
Ironside  50 | 12491

Well, maybe they didn't have the means or will to preserve it.

Well, maybe but maybe they don't have a respect for buildings which do not reflect their history?Or maybe they are incompetent morons....?

i think it's more about money. Ukraine is even poorer than Poland. Krakow would look much more beautiful if they renovated all the old pretty buildings but i'm sure it's about money too. it will take years to renovate the whole city.

i'm a Pole and i hope the borders won't change anymore. we don't need more conflicts, i just hope Ukraine will solve the problem of corruption so that we don't have to stay 2 days at the border to go to Lwow

Closer relations with Ukraine are in the interests of Poland.

- They are not. I think that Poles finally realized that you cant have a healthy relations with someone who celebrates ordinary murderers as their national heroes.
Seanus  15 | 19666
29 Oct 2009 /  #60
Well, they had relations with the murderous Bush and Cheney, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown and a host of others.

Oh, just like Poles celebrate the imperialistic Piłsudski who was also a dictator to boot!? Dmowski would have been more practical and pragmatic in such affairs.

Get in touch with the modern day Ukraine. I doubt that they celebrate such killers.
