Aha, so innocent people should die for the actions of criminals? I happen to agree with Israeli's right to defend its innocent people. See the connection? Eight years of not taking action is not the fault of innocent Palestinians, is it? Why should they become embroiled in the folly of politicians?

Sorry, the history is not so clear cut. Why do you claim that Israel came first when it was only recognised as a state in 1948?

I'll check it out. M-G, you are not a full Jew as you would have labelled me an antisemite by now. You are Dutch and I guess understand the unacceptable loss of innocent life. I deplore the loss of innocent Israeli life too.

Reason why I don't call you an anti-semite is that I'd like to think that I am pretty smart :) My mom is Jewish and I guess according to Jewish religious laws that would make me a Jew, but you know, I've never thought about it that much. To me it's just person per person. And unless I get really attacked for being a "Jew", I generally don't mind. But I guess you already know that. Sorry, I'm a bit drunk at the moment :S

Althouhg the original thread has been closed down by our moderator, I have since obtained info re Szostak's Polish roots. An acquaintance of mine has contacted him and Szostak said his grandfather had come from Poland but he himself has little knowledge about his Polish heritage.
