I found this interesting. It shows how abuse of the internet can lead to trouble... both for the website and the client.

polskieradio.pl/thenews/national/artykul113149_nasza_klasa_loses_lawsuit__to_pay_fine.html

The popular Polish social networking website Nasza-Klasa.pl has lost a lawsuit and will be required to pay 5,000 zloty (1,200 euro) damages for allowing a fictional profile of a Polish man to exist.

Joanna Gajewska, press spokesperson from the website, claims that the company does not agree with the decision of the Wroclaw District courts but will not release an official statement until Nasza-Klasa.pl receives the written decision.

NK is a bit strange for me, it's full of crap and fictional profiles, I see more and more Poles arriving on Facebook.

I have to agree with the ruling as there should be some responsibility in part by the owners of Nasza Klasa to take down fake profiles.

Facebook is overall more secure. You can really look at people's profikes without first adding them as a friend. the same with sending messages. NK you can look at anyones profile and send messages without first adding as friend. This is why FB is becoming preferred ..... I think

Facebook is also a CIA-NSA breeding-ground; just google *facebook cia usnews*:

"The CIA now has its own Facebook page, as does the hush-hush National Security Agency, which vacuums up the world's communications for analysis. Both invite Facebook members to register and read information about employment opportunities. It's part of a larger, multiyear hiring push to boost the size of the U.S. intelligence community."

it seems Facebook's popularity has caught the attention of our clandestine friends.

There is no difference between GG and MSN since MSN is not an original idea either.

Instant messaging predates the Internet itself. The first Windows based IM was in use a couple years before Microsoft's famous statement that they did not see the Internet as a part of their long term strategy.

One in Polish the other in English ;0)

You can send messages to people who are not on your friends list on FB, you can also view a persons profile if they are stupid enough to have that option, most only give limited access to none friends. FB is a bago poo most of the time, random people who you havent seen for years and never want to see again wanting to be your friend...no thanks!

I agree that facebook is not great but still, you can prevent pretty much anyone you want from ever finding out you are even on it. It's all in the privacy settings. You can get rid of the 'message' option so that only your frinds can write to you. The problem i have with it currently is that every now and again there are torrents on it, also some weird add ons and pop ups that are potentially dangerous to your computer. Apparently this is happening quite a lot now.

Same with nasza klasa, you can hide pretty much all the info about yourself that you wish. And if you don't like someone then don't add them and block them. Simples.

I dont use it enough to bother with settings, I only really use it now and again, but my info is hidden from those that are not on my friends...
