Thanks db! As you are male and Polish, know any good jokes that may break the ice?
Help, Polish men are very complicated!
Aha, so maybe all the non-Polish forum members should stop posting because they aren't Polish, right? Relationships are more universal than you think.
Why not break the ice with a simple Dzien dobry :-)
Shelleys! you are so harsh.
Im being honest. What do you want me to say? Fact of the matter is some guy comes in a couple of hours a week and you have a crush on him..You could start humming the wedding march next time he comes in and see how he reacts?

Some Polish men are very friendly and he gives you a lovely greeting and makes you feel very welcome :) but it does sound like that's all it is ? Sorry :(
I think any female would be flattered by that :) just be very friendly back and smile a lot and wait for him to suggest if he wants to ask you out. In the meantime relax and enjoy his friendliness :)

Best bit of advice yet! (apart from mine of course ;0) )
Sounds advice from Lir. The common prescription that emerges from almost all discussions on relationships is 'take it slow and easy'. A progressive approach usually yield the most positive results. Also, giving breathing space is becoming more and more important these days :)
Thanks db! As you are male and Polish,
He's not...look at his profile pic, it's quite clear to see! He is however possibly related to Little Richard!

As others said, Polish guys are no different than guys from other countries (except fo Michal and Harry who are stupid).
Still, I understand your hesitations and to that I would suggest what I do myself in situations where I am not sure about proper reaction/behavior - just tell them that you are not sure if you are approaching a given situation in an acceptable situation. That will cover your ass (not that it's bare) for a lot of mistakes, and that will also tell the other person that you care, are aware and sensitive to the possible differences in customs and habits. Life's usually good from that point on.
Ok, thanks to everyone for their help and advice, even the silly stuff. Could someone translate this for me ( preferably not King Sobieski), and then someone else double check it for me ..........- it really WOULD NOT be funny to wind me up on this....

'Dude' ? You didnt say he was American, in that case language doesnt matter. Just wave an American flag, chant freedom and show him your feet
a picture of some wobbly-looking house in Poland - some kinda new age architecture or something, but no message with it!
Thats the crazy house in the centre of Sopot, is he from Gdansk? Great place is Sopot.
And can you tell me how 'przytulic' translates, would this be a nice thing to say to him??
He hates you, in fact he's using you to hook up with your thin pretty girlfriend, being nice to fat best friends never fails.

BLUENIGMABOY - THIS IS SERIOUS - get a grip and help me out!!! Are you Polish? you are funny too!
I know it is serious, you have no idea how worried about you I am pumpkin. I am Irish, so unfortunately it takes more than a 'cake' to entice me :| Can you buy jaffa cakes anywhere near you. Its an old Polish tradition that if you like a man you stick a jaffa cake on your forehead, then when the object of your desire you sees this he has to politely lick all the chocolate off it. Many a Polish couple have got together in this way, beautiful culture
