How do you Poles feel about the fact that so many Poles work abroad?

You can't fight racism with racism.

Such logic is lost on the likes of paranoid Puzzy

You can't fight racism with racism.

- Do I do so? Wherein? And yes, you can fight racism by keeping out racists.

But you're not just blaming individuals, you are saying that anyone from not just Bangladesh,

- Strangely enough scores of those Polonophobic 'individuals' are from places like this. I know one of the main reasons why they attack us - they are scared of us. But this doesn't lessen the offense.

... and you were right.

- From my viewpoint, you've got to see a bit - just a tiny bit - clearer.

Do I do so?

I consider what you have said about "third world people" to be racist.

you can fight racism by keeping out racists

Branding entire races of people as racists is not fighting racism.

Strangely enough scores of those Polonophobic 'individuals' are from places like this

And scores of them are not from places like this, but with European heritage.
Many of these people have nothing against Poland or Polish people.

People who throw stones in glass houses tend to be idiots.

Wouldn't you agree Puzzy?

- Enter Bubba a.ka. Van Fuk. He believes in his grass-and-coke-corroded mind that if he brands me as crazy a sufficient number of times, every one will start believing I am crazy. A Goebbelsian attitude? Bubba, how would you recommend one should fight racism? By not fighting it at all, only allowing racists to finish one off? Especially if one is from Poland and racists from the Third World, eh?

:)

Youre too thick to realise you represent what people dislike about the Polish, aren't you Puzzy

brands me as crazy a sufficient number of times, every one will start believing I am crazy

- Wow, so according to Bubba I Puzzy represent something people dislike about all Poles? Really? What is this something I represent? Please explain, Bubba - if you can. As usual, Bubba is also branding all Poles. And he lives and does business in Poland. Can there be anythng lower than this?

Wouldn't you agree Puzzy?

- Are they? I've got no experience with people throwing stones in glass houses. Obviously you do. You wanted to sound deep, didn't you? But what did you actually mean? Please put it in plain words - if you dare. Did you accidentally mean that being merely Polish I should shut up and put up?

:)

Why on earth do you think Im this Bubba fellow. Where is your proof?

- Aren't you? Even if you aren't, it doesn't matter - you sound exactly like him. There's no difference between the 'two' of you as far as I'm concerned. And what if you are Bubba? This would mean you're a liar to boot.

:)

U r not racist if you despise poles you are xenophobic. Poles are not a race as I showed you in my earlier post! I think you failed to reply to it because you have extremely poor English writing skills.

U cannot keep out racists because most racists are in the closet so it is almost impossible to know who is racist. In a way every1 is racist a bit! The only way to know for sure if a person is racist is to know their thoughts which isn't possible!

Too bad that this whole topic is about Puzzy now. It could be an interesting topic. It's all about racism now and I don't really think the subject has a lot to do with racism..

Very unkind to say things about people's English writing skills. Is it really that important? We're all trying right.. Mine are not perfect either but I'm learning and learing is actually one of the reasons I'm reading this forum.

Is it possile for those who are interested in the subject, to just read the first post in this topic again and give a decent answer, and for all those who are not seriously interested to just **** off and spit all the frustration inside you over some other topic? Or to just keep it inside you? (actually only referring to Puzzy, let that be clear..)

And thanks to the people who did try to give an interesting and decent answer! (even if it's criticized by Puzzy afterwards :) )

I agree. When I posted something about British people moving to other countries for their career prospects, at least one fellow Briton replied "Good luck to them". I agree. From what I have seen, this may be the prevalent attitude amongst Poles who remain in Poland. It's a shame this thread is not helping to answer your question.

I find your post there a little difficult to understand. You have accused someone of having bad English writing skills whilst using fairly bad English writing yourself. Were you arguing with Puzzy, myself or both of us (depsite our obvious differences of opinion).

I ask because the main brunt of your attack seems to be Puzzy with his nonsensical attitude towards a wide variety of people, but you also seemed to make an argument with my usage of the term "racism".

Race is subjective. It is not something set in stone. I'm not interested in race. Neither am I particularly interested in the boundaries between xenophobia and racism - it's pretty much all the same thing to me.

Mostly puzzy! There is a difference between xenophobia and racism though and I hope you realize that! Poles are not a race! Yes race is something set in stone because it has to do with relation not location. Some races are typical of different locations but it doesn't mean that because of residency in the location you are of that race! U might be thinking about ethnicity and not race but race is most certainly set in stone! =)

Ethnicity is more flexible dictionary.reference.com/browse/ethnicity

RACE IS NOT

Poles are not a race!

- What do you mean by 'Poles are not a race'? Do you mean Poles don't belong to any race? Raceless people?

There's the popular enough expression 'human race.' It suggests humans are a race. Does Rocky Mason believe humans actually 'are not a race'? And if Rocky Mason believes that humans are a race after all, does he believe Poles aren't humans?

:)

The Shorter Oxford English Dictionary of Historical Principles (based on the brilliant OED) states under 'race' (noun), amongst others, thus: 'A group of persons, animals, or plants, connected by common descent or origin ... A tribe, nation, or people regarded as of common stock ...' (Clarendon Press. Oxford, 1991. v.II p.1735).

On the front page of today's NYTimes there's an interesting article of the large number of Polish immigrants working in Ireland. Apparently, as the Irish birthrate sags, for the first time lamost ever, the Poles, rather than leaving due to lack of work, are staying instead, doing the odd jobs the young, upwardly mobile Irish, don't want to do.

Quite a switch from generations past, when it was usually just the opposite; the Irish were poor and emigrated to the UK or the US to get work. Since the Celtic Tiger began roaring after the nuclear energy as well as the Internet boom of the 90's, the situation has reversed itself and now the Irish are staying at home, while others from abroad, such as the Poles and the Romanians, come to Ireland in search of better jobs and and economic prosperity!
