Is there tolerance in Russia, CK? Is Russia generally homophobic?
Seanus 15 | 19,672
11 Mar 2009 /  #573
LOL, self-debasing. Isn't that a Russian national trait?

you think that it is natural? Seanus, please tell me, did you ever gaze on guys? I am gay, but prefer to enjoy it without adv.

I bet that guy who wear kilt cannot be 100 per cent straight.

I think that it is largely natural, yes. Some can become gay but such cases are very rare. I have had many gay friends in the past.

Come on Seanus, where is your coming out?

I couldn't be gay even if I tried, CK.

Some see homosexuality as a disease to be treated, like alcoholism.

Sure, there are resources for this. But gays don’t want to talk about it.
They complain about being outcast but then don’t want to do anything about the problem. I think they like to complain.

You know, this is not like schizophrenia which requires ECT. Many do like to complain though. Many believe what they feel to be natural. So, let them feel that I say. Much of society doesn't see what goes on behind closed doors, only the voyeurs ;)

Let gays be gay, but keep it to themselves.
Who cares why they stick that thing into another man. It's their personal life which many people don't want to know about.

One will draw the "hater" label for merely suggesting that they seek help for their condition. How nuts is that?

suggesting that they seek help for their condition.

Its not a medical condition randal, why are you so interested anyway?

Sure it is. There are success stories out there of gays getting cured of their condition. But again, gays don’t want to hear this. They’d rather be accommodated than helped.

Who said I was scared of them? Here, in this latest discussion, I’m saying there is help out there for the condition that causes them so much complaining. Why does this make me a bad guy?

And why do gays and their advocates always toss around the insult of implying others are gay? Lol… It don’t work on me. ;)

So what is the condition then? and it seems like you are complaining more cos there are gay people.

I'm no advocate, i just don't judge people on sex, colour or sexuality.

He's wonder where he can get a "cure" from :)

and guys who are comfortable being straight dont have a problem with it ...

Very true, me and my ex used to go down Canal Street in the summer and he didn't have an issue :)

This is a manufactured wives tale. Are you an old wife?

Untrue - homophobes are scared - that's why they have "phobe" on the end of it :) What are they scared of? Judging by your posts, it might because they are scared of "catching" gayness ;0)

Thank you constantine, its a private matter.

Believe it or not Patty, gay people just live like hetrosexual people, they don't feel the need to parade through the streets :) Of course there are a few queens and screemers that even annoy your average gay bloke :)

There lies the root of your homophobia... the fact that you are completely ignorant.

ShelleyS

Spot on Shell. People who are comfortable with their own sexuality usually don't care. It's often the ignorant types, who believe gay can be caught or indoctrinated, that make the most noise when it comes to homosexuality.

I used to enjoy the odd trip down (C)anal (S)treet, and I more often than not had a great night. Bah bar was always a laugh.

Exactly right. I've been to a couple of gay bars with friends and I didn't feel put out at all. Yeah, I didn't like the guys who tried to push themselves on you but that didn't happen often.

There were quite a few straight girls there. They really flirted with the gay gays. It's all about comfort.

The army doctrine of "don't ask - don't say" might be applied in civilian life too.
