Bought! what are you talking about?

Using reasoning and rational thinking

Its rational to believe that what many people consider as a ghostly encounter is reasonably true.

I meant John Edwards. You seem to believe in what he does and Seanny doesn't. As long as you can back up your position, there's no problem.

It's like religion, some people have faith and some don't.

I meant John Edwards.

What? he holds the world record for the triple jump at an astonoshing 18.29 Meters, never been touched since. Irony aside he was a faithfull bible basher till 2007 when he lost his faith. I dont know why. You confused?

Thats not the exact issue with SeanBM and I, its just one of many.

Sorry, were talking Johnathan Edwards the medium. Watch his show, see what you think.

Its rational to believe that what many people consider as a ghostly encounter is reasonably true.

On that same false logic, it would be 'reasonable' to assume that human sacrifice is okay because so many people from so many different parts of the world did it.

That is not rational, that is just believing people are doing what they tell you they believe they are doing.

It's like religion, some people have faith and some don't.

The religion of one age is the literary entertainment of the next.

On that same false logic, it would be 'reasonable' to assume that human sacrifice is okay because so many people from so many different parts of the world did it.

On that logic it would be correct to assume that genocide is acceptable as so many fractions of the world have committed it. Deep rooted - right or wrong prevails albeit 2000 BC or 2009. Its always occured, come on.

Everybody now or 3000 years ago knows whats right or wrong, imagine yourself a little bit hairier with a sub standard vocabulary stadning with a huge axe aloft. Youre gonna chop someones head off, yeh? That job would have been given to the killers of that age..

Exactly, Seanny. Times move on and conventional wisdom changes.

WB, I remember that guy. I must admit, they appear convincing as mediums but it's sleight of hand and tricking of the eye. Good to watch, though :)

that's right, that is why your example of Ted Bundy is not a great one.
But your example of to imagine how, in 5000 years time, that they will look back on the savages that we are is for me a very interesting idea.

Times move on and conventional wisdom changes.

So are you admitting that your beliefs will only last a while that they will die out?

And maybe these grieving people deserve to be ripped off? naw mate.

I just saw your youtube, how are they ripped off?

Thats got nothing to do with it, its not a magic trick. You have no idea what were talking about do you?

OK, lf you visited a fortune teller or used a ouija board and it worked lets say it told you something no body else could ever know what would you say then?

You will have to give me exact details for starters.
I think you are working from the inside out, you believe and you want to create an example that has no answers because you do not want any.

I just did.

I think you are working from the inside out, you believe and you want to create an example that has no answers because you do not want any.

Nah i just want an admission that when faced with paranormal proof of your own, you would defy your own logical, scientific (in ya face) beliefs that what you see is not what you get. The fact that you didnt answer and are beating around the bush tells me you have real issues with that.

Come on lets say hypothetically you saw a ghost or something, would you cry beer, or blame it on the bigos?

told you something no body else could ever know

What exactly?

The fact that you didnt answer and are beating around the bush tells me you have real issues with that.

or that I think you are full of it, it is a silly question.
If I used a trick and i could tell you something no body else could ever know about you, what would you think?

Come on lets say hypothetically you saw a ghost or something, would you cry beer, or blame it on the bigos?

Cry beer :)

How did Darren Brown talk to the dead in that youtube link I provided?

Wroclaw Boy:

What exactly?

I dont know how about why did you steel Mrs Smiths Milk? Perhaps Mrs Smith told the spirits..

If I used a trick and i could tell you something no body else could ever know about you, what would you think?

If you told me something that only I ever knew about, years before id even met you, youd freak me out big time. But im not talking about me or anybody else, its if a spirit told you..

I was just watching Darren Brown being able to meet someone (a psychic) and told them to draw a picture in the next room and he was able to say what it was she had drawn, a number of times. He is not psychic.

Have a watch, i am not sure how he does it but he is not psychic and does not talk to spirits, it is a trick.

So your argument, if I understand this correctly, is that I should not question or search for an answer because it is beyond my comprehension and I should except some mediums as the genuine article and not use reason or rational thinking at all?

Sean there is no answer, because nonone has come back from the dead to explain. If we look at things from a scientific viewpoint how was the first life created on earth, how was this possible?
SeanBM  34 | 5781
15 Nov 2009 /  #169
there is no answer, because nonone has come back from the dead to explain.

That is exactly NOT what mediums are saying and that is my exact point.
They are using other peoples grief, shame and hurt to manipulate them and deceive them.
A lot of them are scumbag con-artists who tell you lies about your dead relatives.

If we look at things from a scientific viewpoint

Have you looked, honestly? or are you trying to make a point without knowing the facts?

He has a point, that's one of the most dis-respectful things you could run in a business. Anyway, back on topic. Has anyone seen the popular American horror film Paranormal Activity? It's based on this very topic and got many high ratings. Reply if you would like a copy.

Paranormal Activity

No. I heard this film being equated with that other low-budget home-made "horror" flick that was so incredibly boring that I had to leave the theater (the scariest thing put forth in an hour was a pile of rocks). A co-worker said that her husband had to sleep with the lights on for a few nights after seeing it, but I'm still not interested.

It is very similar to Blair Witch in many ways but specifically the sense that it doesnt reveal ghosts and ugly monsters at all during the film, its a film for the mind which keeps you thinking throughout. I thought Blair Witch was better and less flawed. But still a good film.

Anybody who likes films such "gone in 60 seconds" will probably not see the attraction.

Well it was Hollywood made, with implementations of looking home-made. Personally, knowing it was fake it didn't really scare me.
