excellent other people facing the same issues as me. Englishking, i'm in the same boat. not baptised and not religious.
However, I'm moving emigrating to Poland on er..Monday (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and my missus and me will be living together in our flat. This means according to her family that we have to get married. My original thought was to have a civil wedding and then a blessing in church.

I couldn't give a flying f.... about church and infact I'm actually very anti relgion in general.
Anyone know about blessings?

I've attended three Polish weddings in two years, the third ended in a fatality!!! One of the brides uncles a recovering alcoholic was found dead with liver failure on the second day! How mad is that?

I wouldn't stress too much because no doubt everything will work out eventually somehow.

Simple solution is to change to catholic U have not been christened so this should be a walk in the park (Take about 6 month). Related question and answer:

Englishman getting married in Poland; religious instruction and baptism

Hi there, not being a catholic I am getting married next august to my polish girlfriend. We want to get married in beatas local church in slupca. Firstly do i have to take some form of religious instruction. Secondly, I have been baptized , is this good enough for the polish church or is something else required? any help would be greatly appreciated.

talk to her priest to find out the details. baptism may be ok but there rest you'll have to work on.

Hi everyone
I work as a wedding planner in Krakow, Poland so if any of the posted questions still needs answering, I'll be glad to help out.

Generally we have to discriminate two situations - the catholic churches allows marriages of mixed confessions where technically only one person is catholic and only he/she is bound by the sacrament. This is something members of Church of England can participate in easily. A different thing is a sacrament between two catholics when obviously both have to be christianed members of the catholic church and none can be divorced (if the former marriage was a catholic one).

I'm planning on getting married to a Polish man in the near future. From what I've read on the forum so far, it's much easier for us to get married in the U.S. (I'm American). However, what would be necessary for us to get married in Poland? Neither of us are Catholic, so there would be no church wedding.
