Wroclaw Boy 6 Nov 2008 / #4the "Consulate Generale of the US in Krakow" or "The US Embassy in Warsaw" ?You can try the consulates make sure your 100% before you get there, I had to goto the UK Embassy in Warsaw for my passport replacement. Consulates claim to issues passports but most do not.
OP scorpio 20 | 188 6 Nov 2008 / #5Does anyone on this forum know for sure, to save me a phone call or trip? Thanks.
Wroclaw Boy 6 Nov 2008 / #6The problem is not even the consulates really know, they claim to issues passports on their web sites but when you call they arrange an appointment then when you get there they tell you you have to goto Warsaw.
rsm109 - | 16 6 Nov 2008 / #8If there's an American equivalent of the British Foreign Office's travel advice website, it might say on there.
navg8r - | 8 6 Nov 2008 / #9I've renewed and had extra pages added to my passport at the US Consulate in Krakow. I've even reported my daughter's birth abroad and applied for her US passport there as well. Waited about 2 weeks for the passports and waited 5 minutes to have pages added as they did it on the spot.
Harry 6 Nov 2008 / #10I had to goto the UK Embassy in Warsaw for my passport replacement. Consulates claim to issues passports but most do not.The difference is that the British consulate in Wroclaw (like all the British consulates in Poland apart from the one in Warsaw) is an honourary consul. The US consulate in Krakow is a full consul.
OP scorpio 20 | 188 6 Nov 2008 / #11Thanks everyone for your kind help! Yes, according to the official website of the US Consulate in Krakow, an American Passport can be renewed there without any problem. It costs only $75 USD. Excelllent!Cheers!
gtd 3 | 639 6 Nov 2008 / #1275?? I got ripped off :PMust be a big city tax in Warsaw.Hey don't forget your parents full birthdays and places of birth if you don't have them memorized. You need them for the application. I never remember the birth years. Also make sure your photos fit the American standard as a lot of the shops here don't get it right.
stilwtrjen 2 | 18 9 Nov 2008 / #13Look up the US Embassy in Warsaw on line and send them an Email. I'm pretty sure they can help you and they are pretty quick to respond.
Bev07 4 | 12 17 Nov 2008 / #14We renewed our US passports in Warsaw. Was so great and so easy! Was done in a week. Would have had to wait lots longer in the States. We live in Lodz and didn't return to Warsaw to pick them up. Had them delivered by DHL to us. Hope that helps.
mafketis 36 | 10,336 17 Nov 2008 / #15I renewed mine in a "consular agency" (not even a full consulate) in Poland. Quick and easy.
