WHY IS DISCO POLO WORSE THAN RAP CRAP?

I have noticed that many Poles turn their noses up at disco polo. Is this snobbishness or what? How is it any worse then the aggressively rhtyhmic gruntings of American slum dwellers (hip-hop) which many Poles fancy these days?

I have a distance to all the mega-amplified noise, because my music preferences range from classical and liturgical to folk, Dixieland and swing, but do not include rap-crap, rock-shlock, techno-tripe or pop-slop.

I dont' particularly fancy disco polo either, except that it was something at least nominally Polish (as Italo-dsico was Italian). That in itself is a refreshing change from brain-washed Poles aping things foreign.

Well rap crap is appealling to people who wants to feel and look super macho and bad ass, that's why this crap is big in some eastern countries where guys feel they have to be macho.

Luckily in Holland this crap is only popular in the ghetos..

rap just does my head in and seems to be mostly angry black men slating their mothers, slapping their hos and driving hummers, Some rock is good but heavy stuff is to me just like white noise.

trance on the other hand is ace, modern day classical,

heres some examples,

disco Polo is utter shite though when you think about it, It annoys me how poles can't distinguish from techno and trance, the above examples are trance,

this is techno which is horrific unless you're on class a's

Hm, no, I am not gonna comment on that :x

Trance? You mean trance as in a nearly constant repetition of only very slightly altering loops, be it midrange, lowrange or highrange? Granted, some of it is good, but I have trouble with the fact that a lot of tunes are gathered under the label "Trance" which don't belong there, as they are only Eurohouse or sth.

Disco Polo. It's there. We can't change that. We will have to accept its existance. Soit.

Disco Polo was extremely popular in the 90's.

Now most people say they don't listen to DP. It's considered to be a little countryside-oriented/old-fashioned/geeky. Still many people do listen to DP, even if that's not the first thing they scream out to their friends. At the Juwenalia (big student occasion) there was a koncert with a very famous DP-band, and there were very many people there.

So what people say they listen to, and what they really listen to, is not always the same thing.

I prefer rock, but there are nice DP-songs as well.

I agree 100%, Trance should generally be progressive, euro cheese on the other hand is great whilst under the influence but terrible any other time,

Example of a Disco Polo song...

Music died when techno was born!

The first time I heard techno, I thought the DJ had a status epilepticus.

As I consider myself being a musician, I listen to all kinds of music. Simply because I think you have to listen to something before you can say sth about it. Some ppl have called my music "slow techno", but not many and mainly because they are not aware of the existence of TripHop, downtempo and lounge. Most ppl think it's a mixture of Moby, Massive Attack and Portishead. I like to say it sounds like myself :)
