Do you need a work / residence permit for Poland (EU national)?

Hiya

I'm an EU-national (Brit) going to work in Poland for a few months; obviously I don't need a visa, but I hear some countries require additional work permits or residence permits to allow you to stay there for an extended period of time. Does anyone know if I need to apply for anything like this?

Thanks :)

You don't need a work permit, you do need a residency card if you're going to be here for more than six months. I'm pretty sure the basic information you need is on the consular section of the British embassy's website.

I am a brit working in Poland and my contact is for 8months, so i had to go to the town hall to 'announce' that i live here and will be working - my boss went with me and she knew what to do. I basically had to fill out a form and get it signed by my landlord to prove my permenant address here and that was that - then they sent me a letter through the post aknowledging it... Guess you can find the info on the british embassy website.

I would get an English speaking lawyer if I were you, registering a S P z.o.o. company is an extremely time consuming and buerocratic process. Most lawyers take care of the whole affair for around 3,000 EUR.
