Paypal, moneybrokers etc. - payment options for online Poland's store?

Hello everyone,

This is Yuzo from Japan. I want to start an online store. It appears quite a few of my targeted prospectors are from Poland. I am wondering what kinda of online payment method are mostly used in Poland. Paypal and moneybokers seem not very welcomed over there? I was told that Poland does not support credit card?

Can anyone shed some light for me on this? Thank you very much in advance.

of course people use credit cards, it's just not as common as the UK or USA for example.

I would say the most common is either a direct bank transfer in advance, or payment in cash to the courier on delivery.

My father is already retired (and so - presumably - old-fashioned) yet he's got at least several debit cards and one credit card and uses them all the time, also online. Paypal exists in PL as well, I often send money that way.

Thank you. but I still want to know do people in Poland use any "click and buy" online payment method, like moneybooker or paypal. Or if there is any local online payment solution? I just checked moneybooker. It appears moneybooker support money transfer with debit card.

About credit cards, I heard (not sure if it's true) that Japan uses some different CC, not like Europe or USA. In Europe (Poland) Visa and MasterCard are the most popular, I guess.

Ok. Thank you for all your answers. Can anyone give me a local polish online shop. I would like to look around and see what payment option do they offer.

Thanks in advance.

I think you are expecting too much. I would say that there is no leading online solution that is commonly accepted such as PayPal. Don't forget that use of the Internet is not as advanced for online shopping as it is in the UK/USA and I would expect Japan.

For example the biggest online auction site in Poland (allegro.pl) has its own online payment solution called "Allegro payments" (płatności allegro).

If you look at a random shop such as elektro.pl you can see on this link their methods of payment:

electro.pl/document-koszty_dostawy-91.html#Formy_p%C5%82atno%C5%9Bci

The choice is either bank transfer in advance, cash on delivery, or via credit card.
