Please, what is the difference between potrafić and móc?

I know that they both mean can, but there must be some difference in use and so far I have been too stupid to figure out what it is... =(

potrafić is rather used to describe someone's skills - for example potrafię czytać

In a learning sense such as reading the verb umiem can be used, for example umiem czytac whereas moge czytac may refer to the fact that where I am now, such as the light in this room, is adequate.

I believe there is also a saying in Polish chciec to moc-which means, more or less, where there is a will, there is a way.
