I am wondering if Polish uses double letters. I teach english as a foreign language and one of my polish students has problems spelling english words that use double letters, like married, better, little and so on. Can anyone help please?

Double letters in Polish are pronounced like the name Anna would be A-n-na, so maybe it confuses him that double letters in English are pronounced as one letter?

Yes, there are such as wanna for a bath. You have to remember to pronounce each consonant separately.
