Love / Polish-Islam Relationship Union [450]

No disrespect to any of you guys, but why does it make such a difference to you which God this or that person believes in? All religions are crazy when you look at them from the "outside", and yet without them the human culture and civilizations would not exist.

Look at us, Christians - we chose the symbol of our Prophet's murder weapon as the symbol of our religion and some of us (Catholics) even perform a ritual cannibalism of our own God!

Does it make you feel any better to dump on the Muslims? For sure you're not going to change anybody's mind, so what's the point?

Love / Polish-Islam Relationship Union [450]

I'm a bit appalled at the anti-Islam/Middle Eastern/Asian attitude here

Dooday, congratulations on your marriage and good luck in your new path of life. From what I understand you are living in Poland? If I were you I would get the f out somewhere else where people are less racist. I would probably consider one of the English speaking countries: Canada, GB, Australia, and USA. Once again, good luck and God Bless - mine or yours, it doesn't matter.

USA, Canada / 2008 U.S. Presidential Election according to Polish and foreign people [90]

I really like Ron Paul's stance on many issues.

Did you know that there are two candidates who promised to abolish IRS? They are Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee. Huckabee would replace the federal tax with a 30% sales tax, and I'm not sure what Ron Paul's plan for that is.

Anyways, here is a funny and witty video about a quarrel between the two democratic candidates - Obama vs. Clinton.

History / Chicago Public Radio on *Polish* concentration camps [62]

Yes, I will do that. It's not a matter of being offended, rather it's a matter of the truth and fairness.

So will I. Annab3, was it the program "Fresh Air Whith Terry Gross"?

History / Chicago Public Radio on *Polish* concentration camps [62]

Annab3, it's not my idea to call it this or other name. This IS the PC fraise they use now a days for this dark period of Human history. Here is the appropriate page on Wikipedia titled: "Nazi concentration camps".

The important thing though is that if you feel offended by the fraise "Polish concentration camp" you need to write a complaint to NPR.

You can send email from this page: npr.org/contact/

Mailing Address:
635 Massachusetts Ave., NW
Washington, D.C. 20001

Title of the show: "Boston symphony performs works by French composer"
Date: Dec. 3, 2007

PS. I may be wrong here, but I believe that the NPR did apologize once before for very same thing. Not 100% sure though.

History / Chicago Public Radio on *Polish* concentration camps [62]

National
Public Radio in the US, at both the local & national level, are controlled by Jewsih

You are a tard.

“sent to a Polish concentration camp.”

Annab3, I'm glad that you've complained about it as we all should. The appropriate choice of words here is: "A Nazi Concentration Camp". Not German, definitely not Polish, but Nazi.

USA, Canada / 2008 U.S. Presidential Election according to Polish and foreign people [90]

What is quite interesting is that the strongest and the most solid voting block in the U.S. - the Evangelists - do not have a serious candidate in the Republican Party this time around. Giuliani is a Catholic, Mitt Romney is a Mormon and Hackabee is a Southern Baptist. This may weaken the Republican Party significantly.

Mitt Romney has the biggest problem of the bunch - many Evangelists do not consider Mormon Church to be a Christian religion. That's why his plan is to give a speech on religion in America tomorrow.

USA, Canada / 2008 U.S. Presidential Election according to Polish and foreign people [90]

I thought it would be interesting to start a new thread about the elections on PF.

Let's start with this one:
Mike Huckabee's response to a creation question on CNN.

First of all this was a loaded question, but Huckabee handled it pretty well here.

Feedback / The issue of [not] writing in Polish on the forums (part 2) [45]

Look. This is a pretty live, well setup, and well thought-up message board. And it's doing rather dissent so far; correct me if I'm wrong. And as far as I know, it's the only one in its class: a Polish Forum for English speakers. The thing is that there is only one PF, and THOUSENTS of other Polish forums on numerous subject in Polish language. And they all SUCK. So please, if it ain't broke, don't fix it?

USA, Canada / Dual Citizenship: American and Polish? [53]

What if I have no need for and simply don't want the Polish passport?
If one day I decide to visit the Old Country, will I be harassed by the Polish customs at the airport? What if I take my kids with me? Will they be harassed? What about my wife, who carries my last name but does not have a Polish ancestry?

USA, Canada / Dual Citizenship: American and Polish? [53]

Am I considered a dual citizen or not? I came here 22 years ago, got my US citizenship and never bothered to extend my polish passport. Am I dual or not?

USA, Canada / USA, the nation of immigrants [30]

This subject matter is intended mainly for the so called "first - generation immigrants" or, the way I call them "the boaters" (I can do that, I'm one of them).

Now I know that we all have our own, different and unique experiences with living in the US. These experiences reflect our opinion on the people living in this country. Some of us did great and love this place and the people, some did OK and "sorta-like-it", and some didn't do so well, they went back defeated and they probably did not like it at all.

USA is one of the few countries in the World where you can move to and not feel like a foreigner. If I have had emigrated let's say to Germany I'm sure I would have enjoyed very much their efficient government and a great social system not to mention the fabulous German beer. The only thing is that in Germany I would for ever be thought of as "that Polish guy" and my kids would be thought of as "those kids of that Polish guy". Probably there wouldn't be any malice in that thinking - just a "set of mind". In the US on the contrary, I am considered a "new" American, as long as I am a citizen and speak the language. I think the reason for this is that almost everybody remembers that one grandpa or grandma straight from the old country who spoke with accent and they sympathize with that. It is, after all, "a nation of immigrants" as oppose to let's say Germany, which is a nation of... Germans.

The best thing you can find in here is not money, huge houses, cars, or whatever people outside of US associate this country with. But it is a great place to raise your family. The best in the World.

Life / Cultural adaptation in Poland, which stages are you falling into? [11]

Nî hâo, Zhenzhen.
This is a very interesting subject. Here is my favorite level of cultural adaptation: denial.
I especially love when someone refuses to learn the new language and speaks to people from other cultures in his/her own language. If there is a trouble understanding, he/she starts talking... louder! Later they are simply yelling, frustrated that people they are conversing with are sooo stupid. LOL
