News / Adult movie producers looking for 'actresses' in Poland or just a weirdo? [120]

nope. i don't date weak women.

well now you've admitted you think this woman was weak, so now we know you ARE running under the assumption this guy targets or looks to target "weak" women.

about 99% of the time a simple NO will suffice.

did you know 93% of all statistics are made up on the spot. Seriously gtfoh with that number, unless you have personal experience in this sort of thing....

The guy is a slimeball and on that you have no choice but to agree. And 100% of time your 99% says a simple "no" means that slimeballs just keep trying to prey on, as you've admitted, weak women.

Again I got no qualms about people searching that stuff out and applaud those who feel "liberated" because of doing so. That being said, doing what he does warrants an ass kicking pure and simple.

polaco, you'd most likely be singing a different tune if this happened to a woman you had any emotional attachment to, plutonic or fleeting or otherwise.

Nonetheless when looking at the legal basis for action you may be right about people over reacting by calling the police as it may be hard to prove he was doing anything illegal by merely asking. Resorting to the police makes us into babies that need big brother to take care of this, it would be a far better world if she had just jabbed a pen into his eyeball to let him know "that sh*t ain't on down here yo."

I got nothin against people hooking up for whatever but approaching a total stranger at work (wherever that may be other than in the adult industry) with those kinds of questions and proposal is deserving of a country style beat down with extra grits imo.

Are You sure that he has You on that one?

I think he could very well be right in that I might be surprised but regarding:

Vietnam hasn't come up cause the US and so on had their fingers in, but cause Vietnam went their own way after the US-Army had gone! Where would Vietnam stand if the USA would have let their fingers out all times?

I agree with premise of your question. Hope that doesn't come off as contradictory.

I think about the future, rather than about the past. Past is useful only to avoid the same mistakes in the future.

or when analysing what the current state of affairs is

I think that your reply is hardly related to my post.

i think you need to work on your reading comprehension and analytical skills

i think you would be suprised a just how well vietnam is doing

you have me on that one, but i wish them the best in building a strong nation

those people in third world countries should learn how to resolve problems on their own. All responsibility should be on their arms.

are you completely dismissing the extent to which foreign powers have interfered in much of what is the 3rd world today?

Tariffs, subsidies, political interference, colonialism, propping up dictators all of that just dismissed outright?

Those euro-lefties work always against progress. Food production, this is ideal job for undeveloped countries.

Yet people in undeveloped nations aren't "allowed" to sell their produce without heavy tariffs internationally and western farmers reap huge subsidies that (correct me as I may be wrong) tend to go over what is "allowed" anywhere else.

You really think Vietnam and Cambodia would be the mess they are now had the way for anarchy not been paved by foreign intervention? You really think the people of Indonesia would be in the obscene debt they are now had it not been for the support for their dictator (then suddenly condemning him and subsequent divvying up of its' resources)?

The list gets real real long and real real ugly so you may want to reorient how you're approaching the whole idea.

You're presenting one polarity that simply doesn't reflect the complexity of the situation. What society has shown me is that typically your arguement or style therein is usually countered with an equally absurd argument but at the opposite end of the political spectrum from some other person unable or unwilling to look for more than a soundbite answer.

This in effect is the divide and conquer approach i'd encourage if my goal was to ensure that nothing ever gets done and those accountable for the problem (on all sides) don't get too much attention:

First thing is to take sufficient advantage ofpoor people in poor nations
raise awarness on the plight of these people
get the public to feel a collective guilt
stoke the fires with some pc campaigning
then increase immigration of the poor or simply do nothing to keep it in check
wait for inevitable human nature to take effect
stoke the fires if need be and wait for the backlash

maybe then it'll be time to immediately drop all tariffs and wait for the european farmer to go belly up and so on- whatever it takes to keep people down as a whole and bickering amongst themselves and distracted from the complexities that actually surround the root cause.

Where do you stand on cancelling these countries debts?

Depends on the country really.

Some nations have had IMF force loans on them as a means of keeping the country in perpetual debt. Also depends on if countries with huge loans should be able to sell whatever they produce at a price they establish and not as established for them. But then you'd see a lot of farmers (or corporate farms) going bankrupt in the west. I wish i had a straight one size fits all answer for you question but unfortunately our leaders and leaders from the past had a goal and that goal was keeping the poor in poverty.

John Pilger wrote a very controversial book a few years back which investigates a lot of the global financial machinations and how they have been used to keep some people disadvantaged at the benefit of a few. He knows his sh*t and either forces the reader to acknowledge some ugly facts or pretend they don't exist. Either way I still don't support massive globalized immigration as the super remedy to the globabl economic imbalances.

How much foreign Aid goes to these countries?

good question, and then what happens to it? How is it spent? Does all the promised money actually find its' way there? and should that money be handed over by tax payers? It's like the taxpayer foots the bill but who reaps the rewards?

We probably agree more than disagree on this subject but I maintain that unless westerners ensure their leaders and interests aren't excasperating the situation then there'll be plenty of bleeding hearts who's short sighted response will be to just "open our borders."

I agree with you but all i'm sayin is that our governments aren't exactly squeeky clean when it comes to a lot of things. So let's stop the aid but let's also support moving towards fair trade. I mean c'mon, do our governments actually let african farmers sell their produce at any price they want? Not to my knowledge.

How about the corrupt and wealthy in 3rd world countries, are they not accountable?

I am not arguing against that. But just as it has not been completely the fault of western powers it has not been solely due to mismanagement by, eg. African powers.

You and Sobottka have really highlighted the problem with how so many approach this subject. Monochromatism- it's either all their fault and their problem or all our fault and our problem which in turn leads to neither side of the coin willing to acknowledge the other's claims.

Let's delve into who from the west has helped (if i can say that) to keep the status quote low in countries with high emmigration and hold them not only accountable but force them to help raise the status quote in those same countries. If the problem is over there then it has to be fixed over there but if we don't try to see that happen from where we sit then it will just continue to get worse imo.

How stupid must anyone be to think that way?

Extremely.

Not everyone is so myopic though.

And as I have stated before I hope no one is arguing that the problems of the 3rd world are theirs and theirs alone, that would be an extreme view which fails to recognize even the most obvious bits of recorded history. Having said that, the answer to those wrongs is not massive open border immigration.

There is a very small number Europeans and Americans became or have become or are becoming very very rich by exploiting the poverty and lack of economic and military leverage of 3rd world nations. There is a trickle down effect but the lion's share stays at the top and it's the top dogs that need to be held accountable for these things, not the average person on the street.

The average person over "here" is just too bombarded by consumerism/capitalism to really make the choices in what they do at home to help stop corruption by their fellow but extremely wealthy and powerful countrymen abroad. People over "here" have to get a lot more political and get their own political and business "leaders" to come clean about a lot of things they're doing abroad which would have farther and more positive consequences than turning every western nation into a global shelter for the poor and impoverished.

Wouldn't you rather the corruption ends over "there" so they aren't forces to come "here?"

It's not a refereed journal and not held to academic scrutiny. I am not disputing the information but I'm wondering if you're having a laugh at me by referring to one article from RD as some sort of definitive evidence.

According to this late breaking information I guess I should change my opinion to:
*Every single 3rd and developing world immigrant is making huge contributions to their host nation and there are absolutely no negative effects that can be associated with large numbers of immigrants in comparatively short periods of time. Any suggestion otherwise is simply unfounded and does not deserve to be investigated or discussed further. Every curry house I have ever gone to or any small shop run by foreigners which was CASH ONLY were definitely paying taxes and enriching the economy, always, without fail.*

Wow so this means that every immigrant from Bangladesh has started up a similar enterprise in their host nation right? Seriously I could start posting stories of immigrants being tried and convicted but who do you think will come up with more articles supporting extreme examples? And will that prove anything?

Exhibit a: khabarexpress.com/10/09/2008/ABVP-students-protest-in-Kolkata-against-Bangladeshi-immigrants-news_42873.html

and someone suggested? You're really either missing the point or using strawman tactics.

Dude you've no idea, I am incredibly left wing on some issues and I think immigration is a good thing in small doses. I had a very similar discussion as this a couple years ago with my best friend in the whole wide world, he lives in Canada and he is an immigrant, he is muslim, his parents are from Pakistan (he was born abroad) and is very pro-immigration. I was living in London at the time and remarked how if I were British I'd be at my bursting point already with the rate of immigration.

Well he had been to London in 2001 or 2002 and got really really offended I'd suggest anything wrong with immigration in any way whatsoever. I can understand his emotional attachment to the subject but some of the stuff he had said really crossed the line. It was then that I could see that even the most rational of people are prone to viewing some subjects in polarities only. He presented similar (polar) arguements as you have but the main problem is those are exceptions to the rule, your founder of youtube example would be like me using Richard Branson as the measuring stick for all British anglo-saxons.

Anyway, we met up in Rome a few months back and he and his wife stayed in London for a couple weeks. Guess who changed his tune? He said he couldn't believe how much the rate of immigration had not only increased but how much it had negatively impacted the city. The point he got that you have missed up till now is that too much and too fast is a problem by definition.

Here's a question for you, what do you think the effects would be in Poland if within 2 years there was a sudden and unexpected influx of Chinese labourers to fill the labour shortage problem in Poland?

Let's say to the tune of 2 million in 2 years.

Do you think that would drive wages up or down or stabalize them? How about housing and infrastructure, how would that be affected, where would they live?

Would they find good conditions or not? Would it be likely that some property owners or developers get rich on this situation? Would that cause property to be more expensive or less expensive?

Oh but hey, the Polish women's volleyball team would be really kickass and so would the national gymnastics, weighlifting and pingpong teams, *whatever negative effects there might be, those sports benefits should offset them.*

Look man, I dig your vibe, I feel the same way but you got to realize that immigration done right is akin to slow cooking, not the fast food approach.

Look at it this way as well, people group together, they seperate themselves, that's how we ended up with indigenous people and nations in the first place (even as far back as Babylon :). As much as you may want everyone to be "one" there are many more people who just aren't on that level.

I'm big on liberal policies but I can clearly see that this one of hyperimmigration is aimed at providing cheap labour to big businesses, dress it up as social dogma and no one is held accountable. Instead of sweatshops abroad, sweatshop workers are simply being imported, both are wrong.

News / Poland's Future Includes Fewer Poles, More Foreigners [324]

I have stated these information through valid information taken from 'Readers Digest' magazine

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back, but i've had things to do. Anyway, while i'm not disputing your information, you gotta admit Reader's Digest isn't really a definitive source, nor is it impartial. It's just one publication.

I have seen documentaries about how students from 3rd world countries (specially india and china) do better in education in USA and the other western nations

You'll get no argument from me on what you've seen in documentaries but again you've failed to take into account the scope of what I am questioning here. Large scale immigration isn't only from India and China, it's from Nigeria, from Vietnam, from Somalia, Congo, Romania, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iraq and from Poland. What did your documentary say about students from all of those countries? And before you answer I'm well aware of the high standards of Polish students so gimme what your documentary stated about the other countries.

Just see the French football team...

You're being ironic right?

If anything that would be a strong case of indigenous workers losing out in favour of immigrant labour. Yes it is a better performing team, I'm not arguing against that (and for the record i couldn't give a rat's about footballers) but the discussion had been centered on the wheres and whys of dissatisfaction in host countries. So now France has a bunch of unemployed indigenous footballers with no market to use their skills and at present are on public assistance. How does that benefit the host nation again?

ts like, they bring diverse intelligence.. gives a country alot of power and variety of thinking dimentions. If you think about it deeply yourself, it will not be difficult to see the point.

I suggest you think about it a little more but from a different perspective.

You seem to be suggesting that immigration of the kind we'd been discussing doesn't bring any negatives along with it. Yet so many people seem to be suggesting there are negative effects, I guess they're just wrong or haven't seen your documentaries or read that article you did.

Let's see the comparison between how much only immigrants from 3rd world and developing economies bring into a given country in terms of the economy (filling labour shortages, increasing the local standard of living, helping to improve the infrastructure, contributions to education, science and technology) vs. the costs they bring with public assistance, legal issues, displacing local workers (more public assistance) plus language and skills training. So you might have a point but my hunch is that you don't.

That I dont think can actually work.

That's your opinion and I can't really agree or disagree unless i know what you're basing it on. Maybe in the long run they can't but don't tell them that.

And then, even businesses send money outside, but taxation is ofcourse of England. So thats something no one can take away.

Well now you're in some muddied waters with this one. I have no idea of the numbers but has there been a definitive study which compares the taxed earnings of immigrants coming from 3rd world or developing economies with the expense of public services used by said immigrants within Britain. I think we might be down to speculation on both sides of the argument on this one. But correct me if i'm wrong, this is just a guess on my part.

And these people often are more hardworking

That is a non-sequitor to the overall question. They can be good looking as well, but how does that prove they benefit the economy of their host country (again this is regarding large populations of 3rd world and developing world immigrants within a host country). Hard working doesn't equal big earnings and it doesn't mean their employers are always treating them well or not paying them a pittance (illegally) in favour of hiring indigenous labour.

Not all immigrants are our ememy.

I hope no one is suggesting that or using this discussion as a platform to promote that idea. This being said, i find it hard to argue that encouraging large swaths of foreigners into a given country en masse is a good way to promote unity and stability within a given community. I think the focus is on large numbers here.

It's completely natural and predictable that if 10k people from the Land of Oz were to settle in London within a 1 year period, there is a very high chance that they would all live near eachother and as much as possible try to keep their culture and customs alive within a microcommunity of Oz. That's human nature. But would that have a positive effect on the city of London and its' indigenous population, its' economy, its' social stability, its' political landscape?

Now let's add a couple more different groups from Eden and Cain (i'm out of fictional places so forgive the biblical references) of 10k into London from and in similar time frames and further the question.

What's good for me as an immigrant may not be good for my host country and it's host population, my aims and the aims of my hosts can very easily be mutually exclusive.

They have also forgotten their Christian heritage, which complicates matters no end.

i'd say that throwing religion in the mix complicates matters no end;)

really, I don't care who takes my place in this world when i die as long as that someone is honest and gets and gives a fair shate from and to others. But encouraging huge waves of immigration from 3rd world and developing countries to g8 nations in no way encourages that.

if anything it ensures large working populaces not involved in all the facets of society which encourage a healthy democracy all while incrimentally decreasing the wealth of the middle class in g8 nations.

if that's racist then charge me with a hate crime (what f'n dumb PC invention that is).

tip 982 - drive like a maniac when you see two lanes will merge into one. UK, Ireland / Benefits for separated Polish wife and 2 kids in the UK [90]

This is one bears repeating:

There should be no such thing as "take and no give." It should be give and take.

Bravo.
Coming from a country that receives and (for some reason or another) accepts many immigrants claiming benefits (i didn't say Poles), this strikes a sore spot with me too. Liberal immigration policies are certainly effective in middle class' standard of living (but don't get me started on the hand outs and tax cuts big business receives).

It's easy for me to criticize not being in her position but I guess that means my opinion should at least be more objective than one in her position. Your "friend" will do as she figures is best for "her" but don't be surprised at the negative reactions.

RESPECT them.

Relax.
Seriously, unless you participated in said events you've no business talking like you have been. The people that you're trying to tell me to respect certainly don't need you demanding it for them, that's not your job capiche?

Look at the topic of the thread: this guy says churchill was to blame for this that and another guy says roosevelt was.
Ukpolska and I ask "what's the point of this discussion?"
Then you come flying in with "millions died, you can't imagine (like you can?), respect them!"
No one's disrespecting them by asking the question we did.

Now you make an excellent point in saying the allies wanted to celebrate with a clear consciounse, great point but this is old news and a sad repeating phenomenon of history up to the present day- history is written by the victor. But you would do better to connect this to today's events than just demanding i walk around and be all respectful like all day.

Do you honestly think the average Pole wakes up and says "i'm gonna respect the fallen from our county's past today" or is it just an attitude people like to put on when it's convenient for them to talk down to others like you're doing?

News / 44 killed, 650 injured in Poland in road accidents during the weekend [32]

after driving up to wladyslawowo last long weekend i can honestly say i will never ever take the drive up north again and am doubtful to ever drive a long weekend here again. good lord that was dumb and i damn near did the dumbest of all things.

I was passing and the guy in front of me must have taken on some speed while i was attempting my overtake. Generally the driver being overtaken moves a bit to the shoulder on the road to accomodate the passing vehicle to allow the passer and the oncoming traffic to fit on the road (i always do that and will continue to do so). In this case he didn't so what did i do? i pulled into the oncoming lane's shoulder and kept speed until i could move back and pass. I received a time out at the next petrol station for the manouever (well deserved).

It seems that guy took being overtaken as a personal matter as he was hell-bent on trying to overtake me after that (he had a trailer too). I wonder how many accidents are results of pi$$ing matches...

Work / Another question about teaching english in poland, students English [3]

seriously do you think someone just wants to up and pay you money so they can talk to someone with no idea on how to help them improve their functional english?

You should be looking to provide a service which delivers some value to the customer or client.

Ask yourself what kind of retention rate you can expect with what you know now. Who would your client base be if you intend to rely on private non-contractual learners, and what kind of language development they would be looking for within the confines of the english language.

before i get any hilarious replies about any spelling mistakes etc etc im typing this as quick

a spelling mistake is when you mispell a word by a letter as opposed to when you exhibit such poor spelling that it leaves one questioning if you even know whether the word in question is a noun, verb, adjective, adverb, conjunction, etc.

Try to get some qualifications or experience now and you'll come away with a much greater chance of success at providing a service which will be worth what you demand.

I know that's harsh but guys come here all the time with their polish birds and seem to thing "oh great they're gonna pay me to talk" and just come away looking like clowns.

So to answer your question, should you decide to get some sort of qualifications or training then that would undoubtedly lead to the contacts (institutional or otherwise) you seek.

Love / WHITE GUYS POLISH WOMEN [36]

it seems that polish women really do prefer white men. i was a little shocked to see that even abroad polish ladies more often than not choose white caucasians far and away most often. it's enough to make a brother scratch his head and say "what's those guys got that i ain't got?"

hopefully this thread will reveal some of the insight into this almost exclusive role that white males have in being the bed fellows of choice among the polish ladies.
