Life / Shopping in Tri-City [46]

my days of being a victim de la mode are in the past

How old are you are you the pipe and slippers brigade?
I thought in your other posts you came across as young and trendy. or maybe you mean you just dress like a grandad ;) just teasing. But you are right about the money kocking around I see lots of large new houses being built, flats, and seriously expensive cars. Mad innit. Fifth Room !

Or maybe your just not a shallow bastard and victim of fashion like me...hahahah

the shop is owned by a forum member and i for one will be supporting it :-)

Er then why aren't they on line.... hang on Bubba is it your shop? maybe all this stuffy old fogey buisness is a trick and in fact you are "LONDON STYLE". Ha ...I declare sir that it IS you..... Wow this is like cyber sherlock holmes....like cluedo... "it was Bubba in the forum, with Caps lock". Still innocent till proven guilty. Are you in Poland now?

Bubba you know quite a bit about the shopping malarky I've noticed quite a lot of fake gear in one of the centrums in Gydnia, lots of Louis Vuttion and Channel things. We had a woman swearing to us that the sunglasses she was selling were all genuining. And to be straight I've seen better hooky gear in greece.

I just hope that this place is the real deal, the owners seem actually really down to earth, (despite being obviously very drunk). I'm off to Poznan so I'm going to check out whats hapening down that way :)

HA HA XMAS shopping in Warsaw..hurray. check it out. See I knew these Poles knew their stuff.

High fashion is increasingly visible on the streets of Warsaw as more and more respected international clothing brands open stores in the Polish capital.

Real Estate / How do I look for property in the Sopot area? [45]

I've a friend who ha brought property in one of the towns surrouding the Tri-City, there are lots of new build flats to buy off-plan as well as "pod klutch" (s'excuse my Polish) which means ready to move in. One cost approximately £14k one year ago and is now valued at around £29k. Which for one year is a healthy increase. The rental yield is minimal.

However, the property will in the short term continue to appreciate rapidly till until 2012 when the Euro is introduced.
Due to market nerves from the 2012 largescale monetary upheavel, the housing market will probably dip, and then level at a correct European median. The factors which are key to Polands continued growth and future economic prosperity are; an economically liberal government with low buisness taxes, as well as socially progressive social reforms. The buisness stimulus for this progressive buisness statergy, is impart being both stimulated and advertised by the future Euro 2012, where both international and European money will be pumped in directly and through loans to the government.

The current generation from 20 to 30 year old are in much greater contact through family friends, as well as media to the western experience. The knowledge glean from the west when amalgamated with the eastern promise will pay large dividens. The crux of this is the double taxtion laws, which although now change still have several retrospective year's application. This prevents many young Poles from returning to Poland. Once this issue as Tusk has recently promised, is sorted and stopped: many Ples will be able to lift their self imposed financial exile.

UK, Ireland / British government just as inept as Polish. [11]

Well you are correct Kil in saying individual failure on behlf of the courier, however, what about the fact the disks weren't encrpted, that isn't the couriers fault. Several misakes have contributed to a large scale calamity.

Life / Freemasons in Poland [41]

Actually the "freemasons" are exceptionally powerful, google the P2 lodge "propaganda due", the Banker Roberto Cavalli otherwise known as God's banker was murdered because of his missappropriation of freemason funds. If you know anything about operation "stay behind" then the picture is pretty frightening. These people do rule the roost. Also check out "operation Gladio" on wikipedia.

Life / Shopping in Tri-City [46]

Hey I've just noticed this thread and funnily enough I met the owners of this new shop "London Style" at the weekend in Soho in Sopot. They were telling that they are opening at the beginning of Dec and that they will be stocking designer brands for men and women. Such as YSL, Desiel, Moschino, Replay, Roxy, Timberland, Camel Active, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfinger and more. I'm proper excited as thus far I've been shopping in Klif and Baltic centrum. Rock on.

News / Poland's Growth Fastest in 10 Years [95]

my dad told me that Polish pilots would fly out in conditions British pilots wouldn't, thick fog and really bad weather

Having seen the Polish driving skills, gung ho attitude and road conditions, I'm sure the quote above would be quite true.

News / BRAIN DRAIN ON POLAND [101]

“In many Western countries and countries such as Japan, a post-industrial slow in the population growth has occurred. Populations are ageing. This means that over coming decades, the numbers of old people will continue to rise whilst the numbers of the young continue to decline. It is the first time in Human history that the age distribution of nations has threatened to become long-term top-heavy. What this means is a change in the entire way that society is structured. The young will have an excess of elders, rather than the old having an excess of youth. [...] Many companies and governments are feeling the increasing pressure of having larger numbers of pensioners. More and more people are drawing pensions, and fewer and fewer will be paying into pension schemes. Economists have long predicted that in modern countries, all pension schemes will collapse. It is not possible for one worker to pay for the pensions of three, or hardly even two, retired elders. Governments such as Britain's have implemented a gradual increase of the age of retirement to try and curb the collapse of pension schemes and to try to dam the exodus of workers from employment to retirement.”
