You seem pretty easy to fool, the points to consider here is that Polish property is overpriced and don't be fooled in thinking otherwise, secondly average income is still very low compared to that of other countries, ie income and price of houses ration, check out what people in other countries pay for a house and what they earn, if your lucky enough to earn 3000zl a month you would be probably looking for your last zlote before your next pay arrives, let alone pay for a mortgage and cost associated with owning a house.

exactly right, just keep in mind that Gdansk and krakow have always been a popular tourist destination even in the communist period. Gdansk was very popular for German tourist as it was cheap especially its amber. It attracts the Brits as it is cheap, close and offers something that they could not afford in there own country. ie cheap food, accommodation and women.

sometimes depends on how much you have to drink (lol) I take the point that tipping is linked to wages, however the food and drinks are still pretty expensive in the better eating places.

couldn't agree more, just get rid of all those foreign speculators, spin doctors, and rip off merchants and everything will be OK.

Very few Polish properties are more expensive those in the west, (apart from some homes in the dress cycle in Krakow and Warsaw)
To get a half decent home in central sydney etc its 2mA$ plus.
The homes in the countryside are still very, very cheap, but who wants to live there!
Until wages go up, and I mean a lot, homes will not increase that much.

Just adding my two bobs worth, getting 3000zl a month for Polish standards is good money (I assume after tax), if you think about it 100zl a day to spend is quite a lot.

If you intend buying a car or you get snookered by a hot Polish girl, you would need a lot more money.
Just a few things to consider if you speak little Polish and live outside a major city like Warsaw, Krakow, life can get pretty boring and you end up just visiting beer bars, and in winter you stay home and drink yourself stupid.

May sure you have a secure garage if buying a car, otherwise your car will be gone in a flash.

Not doubting what you say but if you are living in Poland receiving a foreign pension, how can you be taxed twice.. secondly how would ZUS know you are in receipt of a foreign pension? My understanding is that foreign pensions are tax free in Poland.

Been away for a while and read your post, can I firstly give my unreservedly apology to you and anybody else on this forum who I may have offended. Sorry. In a way its all part of the fun when you belong to a forum of this nature. You have to understand that I am a larrikin at heart (most aussies are) and don't take things to heart.

I do feel for the polish people however and love to see them enjoy the stardards of life as we enjoy here, catcha later.

I know you miss my comments on this forum, sometimes you know you just have to shake the dust off your feet and walk away, firstly I was having a conversation with Lord BubbaWoo about Polish/German relations. A serious topic and what I have stated stands. What Polish people need to understand that the German nation has never had much respect for the polish culture and all they are doing now is bleeding Poland dry, The Germans interest in Poland is to make money at the expense of Poland and buy as much land which formed part of the German empire prior to the war. As I mentioned elsewhere the Germans are a very intelligent race, and what they produce or export (ie cars, food, clothing) equals the best. (I'm not anti German)

sure when it comes to money and business absolutely, always remember Poland is a Catholic country it has survived over a thousand years of Christianity and will continue to do so. Its values lies not in commercialism, it is more aligned to values of the Christian faith. Pardon me if I am wrong but Poland has never been a capitalist society, more a social democratic institution.

Poles will never allow for a capitalist type government. Lets wait and see.

Thats the golden question... People in the Polish real estate industry will have us believe that prices can only go up, up and up. I have my reservations.

The speculators have already moved on to access other markets as you have mentioned. The Polish real estate market is only sought after in only 3 parts of Poland.

The answer perhaps may be found in what the average Polish worker earns and current interest rates.
Some people are yet to have there fingers burnt, unfortunately some who make comments on this forum.
