News / A thought on Poland! [140]

And no, dont start with the USA & Native Americans, there was never a systematic plan to kill them all.

It's not true...the Reservations for Native Americans may be considered as prototype of the concentration camps in Europe.

And personally, I shall never forgive you, Russki beastly murderers, for what you did to my family in 1939.

Ahh, it's your right, we don't care about this, but remember one thing, our hatred will be more sizzling

I know that in Russia there are some good noble people who, for instance, fight for truth about the Katyn genocide.

Dont be so self-centred, nobody in Russia even remember about this episode

He invaded Poland with the Bolshevik hordes in 1920.

To sat "hordes" you must realize that Poland never was on the height of civilisation. And IMHO, when some poles talk about "russians are barbarians", you just want to cover up your own holes...

Why don't you screw off from us and stay where and who you are? We don't need you and don't want to know anything about you. Why not otyebitsya?

No! We cant !!! We are your neighbours, so you are obliged to reckon with us ! Yes, you have an independent state, but remember the fact that it was russia which reesteblished Polish state in 1945 !!!

So then, are you saving it for me....since I am American? :(
You know, since that is what you have been taught to do?

To hate Americans? Damn, no !!! We have a different education system than in the US...I was taught to hate an American imperialism not Americans. As to Poles, I remember that our history books drummed into our heads that Tadeush Kostusko was a hero not only for Poles but even for Russians and that Polish uprisings in XIX was a good acts... ravings of a madman...

re: it was russia which reesteblished Polish state in 1945 !!!

- Its nothing to be proud of. You screwed us for ages by forcing us to take in a chunk of Germany. Then durng communism you blackmailed us that if we don't stick with you, the Germans would invade us to grab their land back.

How many divisions you kept in East Germany, on the West German border?

Come on, Kostia, be honest about it.

In your misfortunes, you must blame only you or exactly your ancestors. They lose the State only thanks to their swagger and lack of foresight! Not Russians but your own unruly gentry were true killers of independence.

So, Russians were forced to interfere in Polish affairs to prevent consequences of polish giddiness. We never want your lands or your poor peasants, but we never want to face with the fact that this " treasures" will be in the hands of Germans

I think you'd be happier if the US (AND ALL THE PPL IN IT) was just wiped off the map. But I don't feel that way about Russia!

What a nonsense!!! We just want to cut US claims to interfer in Europe life! WE JUST ANOTHER PAN OF THE WORLD EQUILIBRIUM.

re: So, Russians were forced to interfere in Polish affairs to prevent consequences of polish giddiness

- Da, da, every time the Russkies invade somebody, they give the same reason: we came for your good. The reply is: let us care for our good, take your dirty paws away from us we dont need you.

We never invided in any country, it was just attempts to cure some disease in neighbours states. Could you remind me some Russian attacks on the other states exept Poland?

re: Could you remind me some Russian attacks on the other states exept Poland?

- Are you kidding? What chutzpah indeed. - How about the Caucasus? How about the Baltic states? How about Afghanistan? How about war-mongering abroad - in Africa, South America, Asia during communism?

What? Baltic states? It's Polish appendix!!! Caucasus? Which state do you mean at Caucasus? I thought that it was US who interfere in Asia and South Am.!!!

How about grabbing the rest of so-called Eastern Europe, e.g. Czechoslovakia, Hungary (e.g. 1956 - they love you there for that)?

It's normal practice, and remember that Poland invades in Cz. too before WWII

How about invading Finland?

It never been enslaved, it was preventiv war to protect Leningrad in the eve of WWII

I like America. I grew up in the age of video in late 80s. Being a mative moscovite i wuz pretty sure that Manhatten is more familiar to me that the centre of Moscow (its historical part).

It's very sad...but i got a preventive inoculation from American marasmus which you call video or am. movie at whole

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

From the Soviet viewpoint, the Kosciuszko uprising aganst the Russian occupiers was good for both Poles and Russians. But from your viewpoint its 'ravings of a madman?'

From my point of view he was mutineer and instigator. He deserved the fate of another one - Pugachev (he was quartered) and there was only one madman - poor Paul I, who not only released him from the jail but gave him a pretty good sum of money and even more, offered him a ministry in government of RuEmp.

There were some ethnies who didn't participated in communist movement (islamic peoples for example) but as to Polish speaking people that is not so

It's not correct, there was an islamic republic so-called "Idel-Ural State" but thanks god it was crushed succesfully

Would you reply (as Russian natonalists seem to have done in the past) that the human mind is too limited to comprehend Russia?
Do you know such nationalists? Mention their names.

But why we must feel shy of this? Yes, we had some prominent nationalists, Mikhail Muravev for example....;-))) but i know that Poles are not fun of this man and call him Hangman of Vilna....

History / Worst Polish leader Lech Kaczynski or King Stanislaw Poniatowski? [44]

Who's worst? King Stanislaw Poniatowski was responsible for the partitioning of Poland.
Lech Kaczynski allows military control and occupation by American troops by supporting their missile base. Also, by not withdrawing Polish troops many Polish soldiers are dead in Iraq for nothing and he condones CIA torture on Polish soil.

Undoubtedly Kaczynski !!! Poniatowski was just a poor king who hadn't enough strength to reform his state and it wasn't his guilt, but Kaczynski advisedly is involving Poland in struggle in which it will win nothing. It would be very sad if Poland will become the small coin in this fight again....

History / Worst Polish leader Lech Kaczynski or King Stanislaw Poniatowski? [44]

If you want to discuss give me some arguments, tell me why Kaczysnki is so bad IYO. Or maybe you think that boosting economy and decreasing unemployment is wrong?

Ok, let's stay appart economy! IMHO foreign affairs is much complicated field. And here Poland's policy more harm than good for EU. It will lead to fractioning of EU. So, Poland hasn't enough resources for role which it tries to play in europe policy. Take a look on France and Germany, all of them want a good relation with Russia and Poland in this attempts mere an annoying disturber. In some "good" day Poland will be kicked out from serious policy. We have a proverb - "Po odezhke protyagivaiy nozhki" (You should stretch your lags according clothing you have).

Economy? Well not all things in our life are determined by economy. Russia during Peter I, France during Luis XIII&card. Risheleu have poor finance sistem and economy in bad conditions, but....

As to comparison between Kaczynski and Poniatowski. It will be more valuable to compare Kaczynski with another Poland's king - August II the Strong, ironicly he was as i think the weakest leader in all Poland history. And August, not Poniatowski was true initiator of polish agony. To blame Poniatowski in Poland's partitions is the same that blaming of Romulus Augustulus in destroing of Western Rom.Emp. or Constantine XI indownfall of Romeion Empire.
