Law / Using Allegro in Poland - payment / transfer / rules / fees [18]

Thanks for your reply Telefonitika, that's explained how you sort things out really well. It's just that I want to buy some ski jumping world cup tickets for Zakopane next month so time is of the essence. I'm a bit worried they won't be genuine but I suppose that's a risk I have to take - same as if I buy anthing on Ebay.

Law / Using Allegro in Poland - payment / transfer / rules / fees [18]

Hi everyone,
I've managed to register an account on Allegro but I'm not too confident about how you pay for things. I use Ebay and Pay pal all the time, is is a similar system? From what I can understand the most popular payment method is via bank transfer, is that via a Paypal type middle function as I woudn't be too happy to give bank details over the internet direct.

Thanks

Travel / Warsaw, Poland - hotel recommendations? [30]

Quoting: tinka14
I would recommend the Polonia Palace

Do they have a car park?
Not sure sausage, I would look on their website....but if you want to travel around Warsaw, we took the trams or wallked..very easy to get around, it helps to speak/understand Polish though!

Travel / Warsaw, Poland - hotel recommendations? [30]

I would recommend the Polonia Palace - excellent reviews in tripadvisor.co.uk
Stayed there for 3 nights a few years ago and was very impressed. Fantastic breakfasts and also a great set dinner - all served by candlelight and silver service.

Life / Polish mothers! Advice to Mothers-to-be and new Mothers (resources) [25]

Yep, my mum loves entertaining, she'll bake cakes even if no-one is due to visit, just in case! and when she used to entertain big style, she'd squeeze as many people as possible around the table so you had to eat with your elbows tucked well in...:(and the food was literally crammed into every available space, you couldn't see the tablecloth.....:) she is still ever so slightly eccentric!

Life / Polish mothers! Advice to Mothers-to-be and new Mothers (resources) [25]

My mate Stef and I were blessed with having Polish mothers who are very different to English mothers :)..ours were very over protective and always wanted us to marry good Polish lads..that wasn't really too much of a problem as we went to the local Polish Saturday school and to the Polish club so we could meet said Polish lads...trouble was there was only 2 I really liked, both liked me back but it didn't happen but both could get away with more as they were Polish with our mums....likewise whenever I went on my hols to Poland, my mum was always trying to get me married off, I had some flings but nothing serious developed although one wanted to marry me! Anyweay, we both ended up marrying English blokes, but at least we both got married in the local Polish church! Anyone got any similar stories or did your mums get you together?

Travel / Low cost airlines from the Midlands to Warsaw, when, anyone know? [28]

Does anyone know, when/if the low cost airlines will be flying or even plan to fly to Warsaw from any Midlands airport..we are slowly moving up the M1 in getting my ma weaned off BA and Heathrow and to Luton and Easyjet but would be ideal if some airline flew to Warsaw from the Midlands seeing as EMA is 10 miles down the road from us!!!!

Life / Puertorican says GOOD-BYE to Poland forever [104]

People can be racist to their own people most of the time......people can look down on you a bit cos you speak Polish with a weird accent so they know you're not from Poland when you're in Poland..but whatever...it's their problem, don't let it colour you..for every bad person, there's 10 good people! :)
