UK, Ireland / 2 Polish men killed in Drimnagh, Dublin [29]
Second man dies after Drimnagh attack
A second man has died following last weekend's attack on two Polish immigrants by a gang of youths in Drimnagh in south Dublin. Pawel Kalite (26) died in St James's Hospital from head injuries sustained during the incident. His friend Marius Szwajkos (27) died on Monday afternoon. Both men were working on a building site locally and had been in Ireland for less than nine months. It is now also understood that the teenagers attacked the two men on Benbulben Road because they refused to buy them alcohol. It is believed that the two men were stabbed with a screwdriver, but the weapon has not yet been recovered. A 17-year-old youth is being held in custody at Crumlin Garda Station as part of the investigation; two other teenage suspects have been released.
