It's no surprise a priest who never gets any writes a book about sex. He can't have it so he prolly thinks about it constantly so what does he do? He writes about it. Those who never get it think and write about it all the time. That's how you know they are hard up!

Not so many... The Mexican and Afroamerican population is prevailing on the south.

That I do believe. It seems like most of the blacks are in the south. There's a lot in the Northeast too which is why the statistics puzzle me. There must be more Italians and Irish than blacks.

Places in Illinois and Michigan have a lot of blacks too.
My state has only one black county and that's a bit surprising.

B.B. the people who claim German ancestors like rural communities but the problem is, it's hard to make it in rural areas these days because of commercial farming so they live in suburbs that are mostly caucasian and provide access to decent schools, universities and good paying jobs. Rural life is getting tougher and tougher.

It is interesting. Sasha, thanks for finding that map! I just clicked on it and it's very detailed, county by county. It's interesting. B.B., you'll be happy to know my county is light blue :p

Still, there's something fishy about that map. Some of those states in the northeast are completely Irish and Italian. I don't get that. It doesn't look that way up close. And what, exactly, does "American" mean. Can that mean any ethnic group found in the America but just doesn't want to admit which one?

Then why did they call all the light blue'ers "German" and not "European" or "Caucasian"?

A lot of people with a German grandparent or two like to talk about it, boasting, sorta, so they want to put the info on the census form. If someone has an English/Scottish grandparent they are less likely to put "English/Scottish" and just say Caucasian without being specific.

I would classify them as caucasian mutts. There might be a few who can trace each parent's German roots and can honestly say they are completely German but most prolly just have a German grandparent or two.

Thanks, I thought that was the case but I needed you to be sure. I didn't know the map was clickable... It's from the 2000 census which means people who aren't German could have put German anyway which just means they are caucasian.

My guess is some who put they are German are what could be called European. Many people have a German great great grandfather and an English/Scottish great great grandmother.

See here. That in fact means the vast majority of white Americans have German ancestry.

Lol, how recent is that map? I didn't know there were that many whites left in America. That's interesting though.
It's hard to read all that tiny print. Are the light blues the Germans?

Your attitude is interesting for me as well given that all American North is mainly ethnically German.

Germans settled in places like Wisconsin. You are probably thinking of old neighborhoods that are made up of one ethnic group who mostly came from immigrants, like, Italians or Greeks. You can find them in the northeast and in the midwest.

I haven't heard of all German neighborhoods, though. They might have been more inclined to spread out when they came here. Don't worry, we still have plenty of Oktoberfests no matter the location ;) Doesn't matter if you are German or not. You are still free to come to Oktoberfest!

Its a direct result of people like your self actually. Just when im beginning to think Germans are OK i meet a German like your self and its right back to square one.

With B.B. it's like, he's reacting so I can't really tell where he stands, exactly. I get the impression when I read his posts he feels like Germany is misunderstood. Germany became a reactionist state under the Nazis and they were worried they were going to be destroyed by Europe and Bolsheviks who they thought were infiltrating everywhere so they reacted by creating the Nazi state. Of course it was stupid, but I can see how it happened. It was a state that feared it was on the verge of being wiped out, plus it was pissed because it lost WWI so it overreacted and became too harsh and brutal. It wanted to consume everything. It went after Poland because it was paranoid Poland would become more powerful than it.

Nazi germanys total aggression against Western and Eastern Europe can never be forgiven. Why do you think BB everybody hates the Germans? A well prepared fighting force was beaten back to Berlin and anialated LOL. How long did you hold your territories?? Great Britian had an empire for 100's of years Germany only managed a portion of Europe for a split second in the big scale of things.

Yeah it does suck what they did but you have to forgive them at some point and move on or you have the same things happening again and again. You don't have to be the best of friends but at some point everyone has to let go of the past, to some extent, and get on with the future. That goes for everywhere.

You've made several comments which suggest that [Germans] starting WWII was just a progression of how things were inevitable. I suggest that tanks, planes and soldiers murdering innocent people in their homes was immoral and wrong and not standard fare or normal.

They thought they were under a bolshevik threat and they believed they were saving Germany and protecting German people.

That fear and belief is what started the Nazi process in Germany.

when you really think about, yes they were alone. Italians ain't worth to be mentioned and Japanese way too far away from Europe. Other forces like Romanians, Ukrainians etc. didn't have enough to offer either.

Nope. That's not true at all. The US, Britain, France and, more specifically, The Soviet Union all did their fair share of contributing to Nazi power.
