Food / Non-Pork Polish Foods/Dishes [15]

Why are you making such a big deal about eating pork?

whos making a 'big deal'? I simply asked if there are other Polish dishes that are popular in Poland that does'nt include Pork.

Eat beef or chicken for goodness sake

If it were that simple i wouldnt be posting this thread would i. no offence, but id rather an actual Pole or someone that has knowledge of Polish food answering my thread

the ratio of black women - white men is very low. So it stands to reason that a mixed race child from such a relationship would also be rare.

Are you from England? If so which part? If you are in England, no matter if your in the small villages, you would be aware of interracial relationships, on t.v or something? lol, i guess where im from i see different races together everyday which is normal anyway, where one race really (human) just different eyes, hair types and skin lol :)

Food / Non-Pork Polish Foods/Dishes [15]

Why does nearly every Polish dish have Pork in it? I dont eat Pork(a choice since childhood) and i have found that most ingredients of most Polish Products include at least some Pork,. I am not complaining just wondering why it is so popular in Poland to have Pork with almost everything. I will be travelling and working in Poland for a while next month and am just worried about food. I love Polish food and culture and cant wait to try new things, but i dont wanna be boring and eat chicken and veg everyday. If there are other popular Polish dishes that DONT include pork, i would be grateful for your ideas and to hear them. Also another thing, one of my favourite meats is lamb, are there special lamb dishes i need to try?

I have never seen a black girl with a mixed race baby or indeed seen any asian girls with a white guy or a mixed raced baby.

Where on earth do you live? no offence but either you live in a town/city that is very secluded with 1 race only, in that case i suggest you should get out now and explore or you are blind, again, no offence.

the more I hear about how little other cultures actually think of European women the less I think it is a good idea to mix

the most stupidist reason not to mix, you get 2 examples which im guessing are just hearsay, youve never met these people, and you shouldnt speak for all Iranian men, thats wrong, especially if you are not Iranian yourself. Polish men use Polish women too and then marry a woman from another country, it doesnt matter what race or nationality you are, and FYI, HIV is WORLDWIDE GLOBAL, not just from Africa, dont believe everything you hear on the T.V love.

Love / Polish man dating Russian women [42]

wow, i love when i here different nationalities coming together, thats so great. My advice would be treat her like you would treat any lady, the only difference is language barrier, but the language is similar so shouldnt be hard to pronounce and understand. Anyway good luck in Egypt, beautiful place.

Life / What should be done to make life in Poland better and more enjoyable? [94]

Shops should stay open till late like England. On Sabota/Saturday in England ALL shops are open and its the busiest day for shoping, i was confused when i was ready to shop in the centrum and found it was empty as MOST shops had closed between 1-3pm MAX. Maybe theyd make more money if they left shops open on Sabota. Just a suggestion :) Oh and move out the way when people are walking towards you, its just common sense

Life / Warnings about Life in Poland [71]

Just do it.

Thanx. I will, thats the kind of gal i am, i do dislike when people tell me 'I SHOULD'NT'. I love to wander, thats just me, although i would'nt mind seeing some wildlife, the only wildlife i see here are fox's lol

I think they were trying to scare me, ive been independent since i can remember, also they love to play the 'YOUR A WOMAN' card. I'm sure men get raped too.

Life / Warnings about Life in Poland [71]

I will be going to Poland this year to work there for a couple of months as i got offered a job and I'm very excited. I've been there 3 times already as I kind of got used to the area I will be living. I am a wanderer and love exploring places no matter how near or far and I guess my family are worried about me because of this. Im just wondering what kind of people, places, crimes, scams and things in Poland I should be wary of? I was given advice by a fellow pole not to walk late at night because there are loads of rapists apparently also I love green/nature and love bike riding and cant wait to mounain bike up forests and mountains but was told that I should'nt because No1: I would definetly get lost as Polands forests and woods are very large in acres and that some are abandoned, No2: There are wolves and bears that roam the woods. Is this true? I would love to trek around Poland eventually, are there any other warnings i should know about?

Language / I'm learning Polish using the Michel Thomas Method [9]

Im learning Polish using the Michel Thomas Method:Polish Foundation Course Audio CD. It is quite effective but i still find it a bit confusing. The gender and words always change depending on what your asking, what sex you are or what you are doing and so on. I still think its good though. Does any one else have a more effective way of learning Polish?

also as a begginner, if i went to live in Poland with very very basic use of Polish words, greetings and getting around for about 9months, in % what would i be at at the end of the 9months? 1% is a Polish child learning Polish and 100% is fluent (i know i wont be 100%)I wouldnt have any lessons, i would just learn by ear.

Life / Girls living in Poland - is it safe for a girl to live alone? [10]

theres racism, rapes, murders and all crimes going on in every single country and city in the world, but dont worry. if its your time to go, you'll go, so instead of worrying too much just live life and have faith. not trying to scare you im just being blunt and realistic. if you let people know you are scared, they will act upon that.

Please dont be alarmed when people stare because they will stare hard and not care, they do that because like someone said before, older people are not used to seeing in the flesh people from outside there country and aswell little kids that have not yet travelled will stare as well, but they are just kids. then again you'll get chatted up like any other girl in any other country. Poland is a beautiful country and you should enjoy your time there.

Life / I'm an American who lived in Poland for 6 years. I'm not welcome anymore. [169]

Only EU citizens can work there and travel freely

the same as if i went to the U.S, if i went there, id be classed as an alien. no way can i work there 'freely'. as soon as you go through customs you have your eyes screened and fingerprints taken, they dont do the rubbish in europe, not that i know of. maybe in the future and some countries love to follow the american rules

Love / Difficult Polish girlfriend - how long would you put up with her? My story. [68]

you know the answer otherwise you wouldnt need confirmation on this thread. i feel for you though, i know what its like never feeling good enough. Its up to you what you do, you just gotta ask, whatever decision you make, are you going to regret it? can you live with yourself if you carried on this bully/victim relationship? she has problems deep within herself which no matter how nice or horrible or forgiving you'll be will make that change, she has to change for herself, and why would you wait for her to change? shes been like this most of her life i assume, why would she change now? you loving and respecting her OBVIOUSLY wasn't good enough reason for her to change. You sound sweet and like a gentleman, shes not for you and if you have your heart set on only Polish women (more in common i understand) then just keep being yourself because sooner or later real peronalities always show themselves whether that be good or bad. p.s keep an open mind with other nationalities, more opportuinities and chances, i hope i helped :)

Food / Łowicz BEST JAM EVER [23]

I am not Polish so i am not familiar with Polish products, but my boyfriend is Polish and he recently bought a jar of Polish strawberry jam which brand is called £owicz. OMGOSH, i have NEVER tasted such a real tasting mouth watering juicy jam before. Its actually got real strawberries inside not like all the artificial fake jam paste you get in most.

I know i might seem like im exaggerating, but im not. Unfortunately the jam finished and i would have it with my oats for breakfast(recommended), but since itd finished, i havent touched the oats since, i refuse to eat oats without £owicz Jam with it, luckily i was in Tescos today and i found it in the Polish food section, yay! Also wondering if anyone feels the same?

RECOMMENDED TO JAM LOVERS AND OTHER NATIONALITIES. Ja lubie :)
