We KNOW where Chmielnicki came from and who his family was:

His father Michał Chmielnicki a polish noble and a direct courtier and subordinate of Hetman Żółkiewski coat of arms Abdank came with his family from the Greater Poland region together with related szlachta, there's records of Chmielnickis where they come from and how they were given goverment over Czechryń, his father was a polish noble living under Kraków from which he moved to become hetman Żółkiewskis courtier.

So now tell me how the hell does a polish noble suddenly become a "ukrainian".

No it means that those that had polish coats of arms were polish, there was a distinction between ruthenian coats of arms and polish ones, the Syrokomla/Abdank are old polish coats of arms and its very improbable that the fellow bought it.

Actually Lufthansa is anti-polish and just lost a LOT of polish clients, the things is suddenly other public people came forth claiming they've been treated badly by Luft staff as soon as they found out their passengers are Polish.

Rokita in particular is an idiot and he deserved to be cuffed but it turns out that more people would be kicked out of Lufthansa plains for silly reasons such as asking for a newspaper in a class in which it they werent entitled to one or being responded in a manner "if you dont like it you can get out" only after the staff found out they're polish.

Get real man!

Bb please, the anti-polish prejudice in Germany is real, from Jugendant that will take away children of polish parents without any apparent reason to police officers who will perform a search of your vehicle or legitimate you ostensibly after they find out you're polish.

Even happened to me once.

Poland gets partitioned and with it Ukraine.
Post WW1 Ukis get bitchslapped by Poles and Russians.
Post WW 2 Ukis get Lwów and some other polish lands and we get the western provinces so we wouldnt bitch too much.

Its not like their history is particulary long or interesting.

Erm... no its not, read onet, many other diplomats and academics testify how Lufthansas emplyees acted racist when they found out they're dealing with Poles, however Maryśka is a clown and deserved to have his ass kicked.

Nope because this racism is directed specifically at Poles, notice that even though we're polish we're all in agreement that Janek is a little clown but the fact is that most people who are at the receiving end of this prejudice do absolutely nothing ( except being Polish ) to earn it.

For example in Poland where Germans are to put it politely not well liked no policeman will pull you over because you're German, you might not be liked but you will be treated with the same kind of respect ( or lack of thereof ) afforded to any foreigner, in Germany being Polish is a straight ticket to prejudicville.

Janek is a little bitch but for example professor Jędrzej Krakowski describes in this article that he asked a Steward for a newspaper ( notice he did not bitch like Rokita he simply asked for a newspaper in a class that he wasnt allowed to ).

This "offended" the captain who had him thrown out of the plane once he found the newspaper requested was polish, of course Lufthansa apologized and gave the guy a 5 star hotel voucher and a free flight but the point remains.

Personally i wouldnt accept either and simply sue the racist fucks, thats our mistake here, too much bitching not enough lawsuits and publicity.

HE WAS WRONG and had to face the consequences. Maybe one has to be a Pole to feel unfairly and racistically treated by the mean Germans, I dunno...

Actually yes he was wrong but the consequences were not only based on his nationality but were against the law which is why he was given a free flight and a five star hotel.

He did take it which means that A. he was in a hurry. B. he was an idiot.

Personally i'd sue them and squeeze them for a pretty penny, the captains and crews are allowed to kick people off if they breach the safety of the flight ( like Janek did ) but there's limits to such liberties and these limits are named by law which Lufthansa broke.

I myself had a run in with German police near Frankfurt but i did not accept simple apologies and both gits ended up with a reprimend in their papers, plenty of Poles are pulled over by your Police and searched or legitimized for no other reason than being Polish, i just had the foreknowledge to record their behaviour on my cellphone which helped with the civil lawsuit.

I apologized ? Law clearly declares that crew can evict a passenger if he acts agressively or his behaviour constitutes a breach of flights safety, the guy asked for a newspaper and got booted for that which is clearly a breach of contract and he could earn a pretty penny off a lawsuit, even more if he could prove this prejudice was motivated by his nationality.

By your logic if someone crosses the street on red lights police can shoot him, law clearly regulates consequences allowed for overstepping.

That's another cause for a bad neighbourhood....putting the story wrong.
Rokita didn't get arrested for "hanging his coat in the wrong place" but for throwing a tantrum as a stewardess wanted to hang his coat into the right place where it belong.

BB but we all agree that Rokitas treatment was fully justified, read what people say, even in the plane some polish woman was urging him to GTFO.

The prof didnt do anything that would validate him being kicked out, the full story is that he asked for a newspaper, the steward vanished without a word and came back with two police officers who cuffed him.

Arrest for Jan just for hanging coat in wrong place is strange and it doesn't help in our neighbourhood.

He didnt get arrested for hanging his coat but for screaming and cussing in english, he was agressive even before the police arrived, admittedly the stewardess was plain rude but Janek threw a kiddy tantrum.

Like i said we raised some mandatory fuss since he's a public person but since he is an idiot and acted like one AND gerries aint pressing charges i see no reason to change this into the next Grunwald.

Well Nathan Ukraine has no common or opposing interests with Germany and its geopolitical location puts it on a sidewalk of european activities, its also not part of NATO or EU so western Europeans wont know a lot about it unless they're directly into european history.

Sokrates, you still didn't give me answers to so many questions. What about Abdank coat of arms. Looks like Chmel was a Lithuanian , huh?

Ethnically its not clear, whats important is that he was a commonwealth noble with a polish coat of arms, courting a polish Hetman and his father presiding over an office that no mere boyar could have held which makes him either Polish or Lithuanian, definitely not Ukrainian however :)

Of course i will stick with Polish rather than Lithuanian but thats mainly because its fun to annoy you.

Nathan i could build a mountain of books and have an army of scholars sing out Ukraines history in one epic chorus and you would still live in your little world, nationalism is healthy when cultivated by educated intelligent people, an average Joe will instantly build his own version of history using it and stick by it no matter what so by all means believe what you will.

The fact is that Ukraine has a very dark card of history in UPA but you're as a country and as a nation completely unprepared to deal with your history your reaction being tangible proof.

Well Nathan there had to be a reason why Ukraine didnt ever hold up competing with Poland, there's an explanation as to why Germany is ahead of Poland and thats because they didnt have commies on their necks but Ukraine and Poland had equal obstacles and opportunities and yet we're a stable democracy for well over a decade while you are still ruled by communist era oligarchies and your economy is dwindling.

How come we can raise ourselves from the shit virtually the moment communism vanishes and you just keep being a poverty stricken state to date ?
