Life / Holy Communion dresses fashion in Poland [4]

These are truly gorgeous dresses in the photo, it's for my 9 year old daughter, who is doing it through the Polish Church. I thought the Polish style was much more straightforward , simple, but there does not seem to be much difference between these and Italian. I do know the decision has been made for the girls, hair to be wore down, in corkscrews, with a garland of tiny white roses- no veil.

If there are any Polish websites I'd appreciate the info, otherwise these fashions I can copy from these.

Thanks again, Grzegorz, glowa and telefonitika.

History / Katyn- forgiven and forgotten? [111]

Wrong. The Russians were never allies with Poles

Poles fought with the Western Allies from the beginning of WW2. Stalin joined Churchill and Roosevelt, heading the Western Allies after being attacked by Hitler 22-6-1941- officially then becoming a Western ally, in turn becoming Poland's ally. The Russians declared amnesty for the Poles in Russia .

Amittedly the Russo-Polish alliance was hostile and created angst in the Western Alliance.

History / Katyn- forgiven and forgotten? [111]

justice must be free of emotion

As Owen O'Malley reported to Anthony Eden 11-2-1944, "To speak of them never is the advice which I have been giving to the Polish Government, but it has been unnecessary. They have received the Russian report in silence.

The Poles conducted themselves with dignity- much more importantly according to you, showing themselves to be devoid of emotion.

Explain what justice occurred.

History / Katyn- forgiven and forgotten? [111]

is advocating peace, tolerance and forgiveness? That we learn from mistakes and move on

How did the Russians show peace and goodwill to their Polish Allies- by herding our Officers to a forrest, stuffing their mouths with sawdust, covering their heads with their greatcoats to stop them from warning others, bayoneting them, shooting them in the back of the head while their hands were tied behind their backs in a noose and kicking them into mass graves. They showed their guilt by covering these up and planting pine trees. Our C.I.C. Sikorski and General Anders moved heaven and earth to find these missing Officers- on learning the truth Polish soldiers whilst serving the West almost mutinied- Sikorski calmed them down, advised by Churchill- what did he fear?

Tolerance and forgivenes only comes with atoning for the crime, since this did not happen I see no reason to. "Moving on" can only occur if a matter is resolved- I have no intention of.

NEVER TO DO IT AGAIN

how? well we cannot avoid this by spreading hate can we?

You make it sound as if the Poles did it.

Was justice served to those that did? No, never- the Russian murderers sat at the judges bench, hand in glove with the Americans and Brits, instead of being judged themselves. So we serve our own form of justice- myself by ensuring that as many people know of the greatest WW2 war crime- including my children- as possible.

A good friend once said to me if she had to dig up every square inch of Katyn forrest she would.

Perhaps you do love Poland but in this respect you do not understand the Polish psyche.

I do not like woman gaspada.

This was a polite way of addressing someone in Russia, on par with Pan/ Pani, until the Bolsheviks obliterated social decorum and replaced it with "comrade". Thanks to Polish spirit our culture was kept alive- I still use this, but I am curious as to how many others on this forum use it?

prefer much refined, French term - Monsieur

A much refined title in Russian is Gaspodin/ Gaspodina, since you are not French, a more fitting title to address you would be tovarich.

Poles have a complexes towar russians and germans, or may be it's just a delusion of persecution?

Do you think we have forgotten September 17 1939...Scavengers.
Do you think we have forgotten Katyn- you have bigger problems to deal with the mass found outside Kiev....mass murderers.
Do you think we have forgotten Warsaw..."liberators"
Do you think we have forgotten the Gulags...slave labor - by your people- or Kolyma.

Show some intelligence or go back to a Russian forum where you can happily spout ignorant...twat. Peasant.

News / I need Kaczynski's Email Address! [84]

2004, 2007, what's the difference. It's an embarrassment- more like from the dark days of Communism.

With thanks, Patrycja, for making this available.
I'd wear the headband if it meant extra tea breaks though.

Bratwurst Boy
You MUST have other examples of your "greatness", don't you?

Yes, Bratwurst Boy comes across as ignorant, arrogant, has strong opinions- he's also quite humerous but then so are many others here, I don't see the exclusion shown them as to him.

His last challenge had me scrambling for history books, Matyjasz got in before me with an excellent summary. So isn't this why we are all here- to question, challenge, to learn.

Come on, give him a go.

History / Jews...and their Polish experience [520]

The trouble is Anielka they didnt just use Zyklon B

Thanks ukpolska for info on Majdanek, I'm still doubtful about the fingernail scrapings, however this a detail, these people were exterminated.

its all there own fault that they have been the victim of genocide....mass extermination..........?

Of course not but since you brought it up, the Jews created a deep resentment & angst towards themselves amongst the European community-the posts have given ample info- in pre WW2, which you iniated in this thread: this was to their detriment. Of interest to me is that it is the American Jews- not the ones living in Poland, who continue to whinge about anti-Semitism of Poles. Recently, Hilary Clinton "asked" Poland, an occupied country, for restitution of supposed stolen art works, loot, etc during WW2- on behalf of Jews- so who is she taking back handers from?

who didn't exactly cover themselves in glory after WWII).

In your opinion, what should have the Poles done or not done, under a Communist regime in your opinion to cover themselves in glory in this period?

Are they above criticism?

Since the Jew in your opinion is not above criticism, why the dummy spit about Sparrow's video?

History / Jews...and their Polish experience [520]

Thanks Sparrow for showing the clip, it's still got me chuckling.
Frank, you wanted to know people's opinions- the clip shows one man's, perhaps due to the reasons I gave in post184 - so why remove it?? It can be seen as wickedly humerous which would be lost in the English translation or offensive- it's quite OK for Jews to criticise Poles -yet no-one is allowed to poke fun at them.Chill out. Are they above criticism?

Apols Kruk, I meant Europe Awake.

I asked my brother who visited Auschwitz about the fingernail scrapings on the walls, he denied seeing any.Apparently the gas took hold too quickly for people to have the strength to do this.

Oh and by the way your people also killed jesus.

Kruk, are you stating Poles killed Jesus?? This was done through Jewish intervention.

I'm having trouble following your train- are you saying the H. never existed or are you espousing Jewish extermination?

On a lighter note, simmer down boys- go to Funny pics and have a laugh at "White Power" titled "Oops my scalpel slipped" I posted.

Regards, EuropeAwake.

History / Jews...and their Polish experience [520]

they would have rather lived under nazi occupation over Jewish Bolshevism . The USSR has more blood on it's leaders hands then hitler's regime has.

Mine too- and not just mine, there is a general consensus- we have not begun to uncover the atrocities committed by the Russians, the problem is -no records, or they still won't release them. Of course Leon Uris doesn't help, spreading supposed anti Semitism by Poles- people forget it's fiction.

History / Jews...and their Polish experience [520]

Frank, you have posed a difficult question, I don't think it can be answered concisely in a few words- and to be P.C. From the people I have spoken to eg of my parents generation, from 1920-1939, the Jews had set up a state- their own eg businesses, shops, employing Jews, they were heavily involved in banking, monopolising Polish economy, they had own religion- did not recognise Roman Catholicism- within another state-Poland. Around a third of Warsaw's population was Jewish. On my father's visit to Warsaw he noticed the Jews made a point of not touching Poles. Note Topol's disowning of his third daughter when she marries a Russian in Fiddler on the Roof- yet Marek states this is not a true portrayal of a Jewish family. A well known saying in this period was "Wasze ulice, nasze kamienice", in other words,"your streets, our houses"- this hardly led to conducive relations.

On a personal note, my Grandfather had Jewish business acquantainces, who were entertained in his home. One of them had a son, he came to my Grandfather, who lent money to him, since the money was not repaid, my Grandfather went to the acquantaince to explain the situation. 24 hours later the money arrived via a messenger.

Czesc, Anielko!

Czesc Marek!
In deference to others who do not understand Polish but are interested in this, I'll speak English to You.
Thanks for clarifying one of my questions - but I need more explanation re Fiddler on the Roof on my query.
Aha, how do Holocaust survivors view or opinion Zhegota - surely this tops the list .What more could we do help You?
On a much smaller scale, my beloved Grandmama, hid Jews - only for a day or 2. Then they moved on, where ,their names she didn't know - until there was another tap at her door. She never talked about them but Tata a child was curious and observed. Much later she was stopped in the street by stangers, telling Tata they were acquantainces she had not seen for some time, yet these were acquantainces he did not recognise.

4 years in a displaced persons camp, emigrated to a foreign country and passed away in the summer of 1974. A saint, may She Rest in Peace.

If anything, blame Jewish clannishness and suspicion on the Cahtolic Church which did not allow Jews to live and practice the professions of Christians.

I don't know much about Jews per se, I'm curious, where did the concept of not touching a Gentile come in or is this myth. This is portrayed clearly, as is the father Topol disowning the third daughter when she marries a Russian in the film Fiddler on the Roof, or is the film not true in showing Jewish culture?

That would be extremally hard !!!

I recently worked with an Indian doctor, graduated from Warsaw Uni, speaks fluent Polish, eager to care for Polish patients, appears to understand the Polish psyche from my discussions with him and can't wait to return. A pleasure to work with.

Don't regret, your responses were sharp and serious- stay in the fray, you did good!

this tends not to work very quickly with people of his ilk.

My point exactly- let him stew.

just ignore every comment

No, Attack every coment - be specific- until for him there is no way out.

It would have been much more effective to break him with well thought out responses backed by facts and watch him squirm. Now we won't get that chance so we need to learn for the next time.

Thank God our Polish boys remember the Hymn and continue to defend Polska, today on the Internet as did our people, different time, same ideals.

"No more smilies for you- and no Polski ogorek in your sandwich tomorrow."

You've asked for smiles, which you won't get if you continue to slander, instead of posts with a minimum of intelligence or knowledge. From your posts, I'm assuming mama makes your lunch, where I live Polskie ogorki are expensive, my children appreciate it in their lunch but then you don't seem to want them anyway.

My post was page 6, post 173.

News / Germans file WWII claims against Poland [198]

Not again!

Just here... Now you know how Bor-Komorowski felt- I'm interested, was Warszawa worth it? General Heinz Guderian expressed great respect for the resistance of the Poles in 1939 with a 15-20% loss of his tanks and 50,000 out of the 300,000 North Western 19th Tank Corps dead. Poles sustained 60,000 dead. Chopin requested his friend Mozart's Requiem be played at his funeral, his wishes were respected.

No hate in these examples, simple respect, admiration on both sides.

The goggles I can deal with - it was the helmet that got me, good to see you've lost it.

Come, dance the Krakowiak, the Mazur, lift your girl in the air, stamp your knee high boots, watch her twirl just out of your reach, bewitched by almond blue Polish eyes- then come back and express your opinion of us.
