News / Rydzyk gets away with racism yet again [198]

ha ha, you are the first to make fun at other people and when you get a bit of your own medicine you cry wolf... I am not going to call you a idiot, I just carn't find a similiar word which means the same thing which is not offensive.

News / Rydzyk gets away with racism yet again [198]

Its nice to see a heated discussion over the good padre, I've yet to hear one allegation against this person to be proven, interesting to note that those throw the most mud with unfounded allegations are more offensive and out of order than anything this priest has done.

For those with a lack of humour can I just say 'get a life will ya'

Life / How much Zloty to have an average life in Poland? [98]

Are you telling me that people living in Olsztyn on the average wage of 2500zl a month walk around ransacking rubbish bins for food and clothing in order to survive!!!

What sort of nonsense you are writing.. You may want to itemise your expenses and prove your point.
5000zl a month brut is a good income and the average Pole would live good on this money.

(unless your a gambler or drunk)

News / Is Poland ready for the swine fever stuff? [59]

"There is a high possibility that this virus will come back, especially in colder periods," he said. "

Thanks Lir for the good news, I think I will retire and live amongst the fairies.

Read your history, folks - in 1918

Thanks, if the newspapers don't leave me depressed there is always somebody else who will, here goes another year living in suspense and anxiety waiting for the swine virus to surface with a vengeance.

News / Is Poland ready for the swine fever stuff? [59]

No need to be so bloody rude, the poster said they were worried so I suggested staying in as much as possible, not locking herself in a box for christ sake

Thanks for your response and getting it off your chest. No one is trying to insult anybody Pani Polska, but lets get all this in proper perspective, The Press and TV are having a field day selling newspapers etc, in scaring people. Its interesting that a lot of people have made a lot of money, just look at the price of some of the shares associated with medicines and blood. Lets just get on with the business of living and not paranoia.

There were people who stocked up with food and water during the Y2 scare, people who went to the land of the missing during the bird flu scare and now we have people washing there hands every few seconds as a result of a swine flu. Its best to stay in bed all day otherwise you might get knocked over by a car or some other misadventure. Get a life will you.

History / An apology to Poland from Australia [55]

McCoy:
to kick some british asses.

This is precisely the kind of level of idiocy I have come to expect on Polish Forums.

This is a very accurate statement, and should be taken in context, The Australian soldier was a happy go lucky type of person and resented the strict discipline of the British. The Australian soldier believed the British to be inferior soldiers made worse by the fact that the British made the major military decisions. They made fun of Officers and all the crap associated with the war.

The Australian soldier had a very high regard to Polish soldiers in the WW2

News / Poles are coming home [35]

Seanus, lets talk turkey, I bet there is no signs of recession in your household, lets face it if a couple took home say 2000zl a month it still would not be enough.

From what I see people in the building industry and the like seem worried about the future. I think the lower class will be hit harder as the recession bites in. lets hope not

News / Poles are coming home [35]

I must point out that the official ue rate in Poland in February was 11.3%, I'm not sure how the authorities arrive at that figure suffice to say that a lot of people are ineligible for payments..(to receive 12 months of ue payments you have to have been registered and working for 12 months) we all know that a lot of poles especially in the country work cash in hand. Things have changed since feb and a lot of poles are returning home, I personally know of 3 people who have just returned from England and Ireland saying they have been laid off and there is no available work. One has found work as a labourer (currently on trial) wages 950Zlote per month. the other 2 are still unemployed and cannot claim payments because they worked cash in hand. They tell me that employers are luring people to accept lower wages.

A wage of 950zl will not go far, renting a half decent flat of 40sq cost 800zl

News / Poles are coming home [35]

They are going to drive down the wages... go away...

Greg, unemployment in Poland is about 14%, more in the country areas, most poles returning will have zus entitlements of 12 months unemployment benefits, (plus cash in hand work).. I don't think wages can get much lower in Poland, unless your offering peanuts!

Try Blikle on Nowy Swiat!

I'm afraid those donuts are not what they used to be, small and expensive, they have little taste. Haven't tasted a good polish donuts for a long time

Life / Moving back to Poland after 20 unhappy years in Canada and USA [70]

[

He sent me a personal message to change my original post, which I have.

Lets see if he will answer your question...???

-

look, this is a discussion forum, the point I was trying to make is that the Irish have long complained about the poles going to poland and taking jobs, the poles can equally make a point when the Irish come to Poland and make money at the exspense of the local pole. fair point.

He is not all there.

true, I don't deny that I am of the village idiot status.

Sean thanks for taking a positive attitude and amending your comments, cheers.

Real Estate / Typical flat offer prices in Poland [17]

I'm flattered that you think that highly of me,

True, I respect your point of view. There is no doubt in my mind that property prices in Poland will still fall, however some properties will hold in value.

Its now a time to hold onto properties. As I mentioned in a previous post if you take into account the fall and rise of the US dollar, real estate prices have gone done by approx 33 odd percent.

However you may wish to begin marinating those shorts.

I could suggest a good marinade.

Real Estate / Typical flat offer prices in Poland [17]

nierozumiem

You are another of these so called experts, not so long ago this was your response to a question of a possible real estate crash in Poland.

You may want to stick to selling real estate, stop talking crap and giving wrong information.

crash? Really. I’ll eat my shorts if we see that. A crash would be the result of a gross over-supply of housing units (ex. Ireland, Arizona, Spanish coasts), or a significant number of owners in negative equity that were unable to meet their mortgage payments (US Subprime – Detroit, Ohio, etc). The first instance clearly does not apply to Poland and the second instance is extremely unlikely as Polish lending standards are tight, very few owners are in negative equity positions, and strong wage growth should compensate for rate increases in PLN / EUR / CHF during this period.

News / Peculiar opinions about Poland [33]

Stay in Poland. We don't want "smart" Poles here who are dishonest, cheat and lie. they come to America and talk about how stupid we are. We don't want you here. Hope you never get visas. We don't need more dishonest Poles.

This highlights the fact that americans are stupid people...this is a typical american response to any comments which are critical of america. The frightening part is that if I was a threat to america I would probally be killed or my country invaded. hmmm makes me think that Stalin and Hitler would have done the same!!

Real Estate / Real Estate hits a new low in Poland [86]

BUBBAWOO

Thanks for your honest and frank response, I agree with all your comments but must point out that the older generations of poles are nice and decent people.

Every person interested in doing business in Poland should print and paste your comments on his desk as they are so accurate.

Doing business with a pole is a tall order as they stall, change their minds, and then blame you for everying.

I hope admin acknowleges your input and sound advice over the years as you have been a good resource of information.

I'm sure however you will soon return to Poland and this time for good, as any person who has been to Poland soon learns that no matter how bad things have been, there is something about the place that draws you back.
