This is an unpopular opinion here but Poles are offended very easily and have fragile egos. You know I am not sure what people are actually getting because I see a lot of listings that never get rented for the same prices. They seem to prefer and empty flat to lowering the price.

I pay 1400 for a 2 room 40sqm flat in the center but have had it a while. I am seeing 2000in listings for the same.

It's not that tough you just need the right info. I assume she will go into a bank in Scotland and send it yeah?

Needed info:

Your full name and address the account is registered to
Your bank's full name and address/branch information
Your Account number
SWIFT code (which your bank should be able to tell you)
IBAN number (not always needed but better safe than sorry...again ask your bank)

That is all I have ever needed at worst. There may be some other rules based on your bank so best to ask them and have mum ask hers. Will save you headaches later to get it sorted before you try to send it.

I agree just plan it how you guys want it. I have been to different kinds and I have to say I like the smaller calmer ones over the two day drunk fests where a lot people get blasted and make arses of themselves, puke on everything and damage stuff that you end up having to pay for.

You probably know this but for the non Polish speaking one of you there will need to be an official translator hired for the civil ceremony part as it is conducted in Polish. It is really easy as they just repeat the declarations etc in English and you can answer in English then the translator confirms it. I did not find it disrupted the flow at all.

Yeah quite honestly...and I am sure its the same in all countries...most people don't go to the wedding for you...they go to eat and get drunk for free. Without alcohol though you can ensure only people that really care about you will show up ;)

He is just one of a few who couldn't stand it when I dared saying anything critical about Poland. Rather than admit it or explain why they didn't think it was true they did what most extremist nationalist do and started calling me names and insulting. Lot's of stuff mainly centering around the Polish ability to be offended by anything including a compliment and the generally homogenous and racist nature of a large part of the society. Apparently I am also not allowed to dislike the food or customer service unless I am a racist. When I meet a Pole that is actually honest about Poland faults I about fall over as it is so uncommon. And you mentioned old vs young....other than being generally racist to non whites I find the older generation much more pleasant to deal with.
