Food / Nudle. Who likes Noodles in Poland? :) [33]

I bet if you find the Knoor website, you could order whatever package you want over the internet.

Nope. :/

Cant you buy Milka in the Uk as it is not Polish. Im sure when I lived in Britain it was available everywhere

I have seen it but not as much as say Galaxy or Cadbury.

I like Happy Cow :) mixed white and milk chocolate.

lol, look all these limeys chiming in.

ohh here we go we've drawn out another clever cloggs.

Mate who are you again?

I'm merely stating a fact.

OBAMA IS NOT THE PRESIDENT OF THE FREE WORLD HE IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Did you get it? You thick head? I don't answer to the queen! I never met the lady!

I will however counter your point you brain dead moron read up on the queen! She is an asset to this country and actually brings more money to the country than she spends.

Educate yourself.

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

Where is the free world...poland, nigeria, germany...where? The free world is the US man....get it now and let it sink in....the free world where all cultures live...indians, mexicans, africans, japanese, English, Poles, chinese...they all live there...whcih other country can lay claim to having all cultures have presence in it....

US is the free world.....Obama is the president of the free world....

Ja pierd*lę!!!

What? and we don't have freedom and democracy in the UK? We don't have all the creeds and nationalities of the world?

You yanks wonder why us Brits don't like you don't you!

Well truth is I like Americans very much I've lived with them and ate with them but this forum seems to attract the sort of Americans who are stuck up their own arses!

YOU ARE NOT THE CENTRE OF THE WORLD!

You are a superpower and so what!

Life / List of Polish movies on DVD with English subtitles [30]

Wyspianska

I will answer, because I have just downloaded several Polish movies. I downloaded them from bittorrent (file sharing network-illegal) do so at your own risk:

Anyways I recommend either:

To nie tak jak myślisz, kotku!

or

Lejdis

I thought they were both amusing in parts.

You can get English subtitles from many sites.

Life / Daily comute from Warsaw to Lodz [14]

Sorry I should have been specific, I meant what job are you doing in Lodz...I only ask because I would love to move to Poland (to Lodz) but work is difficult and I assume you are English and I wondered what you do.

:>

I have alot of friends in Lodz, I'll be back there in 2 weeks. :)

I can't really help with the question except to recommend you take a laptop and watch movies/study something/listen to music.

That sounds great.

I work in IT too or I have done in the past, I mainly do hospitality management but I know hardware and all Windows and Mac OS's like the back of my hand.

I looked into some flats and there is a woman on here who has one ready shortly.

I can give you the contact details if you want. I also know the city to a degree.

My home town? You mean Ambleside?

:)

Work / Polish lessons, how much should I ask? [20]

polishtutor.com

$30 Quoted on the above site. I think it depends on if the lessons are in person or over the internet and if you will supply homework and learning materials etc.

Work / Polish lessons, how much should I ask? [20]

Wyspianska

No problem.

Polish isn't the easiest language to explain to people, especially novices.

I'll second that Seanus.
(As a novice myself!)

Work / Polish lessons, how much should I ask? [20]

Sorry to butt in again but you might want to try my thread in the General Polish Language section of this site.

It's the sticky called 'Collection of learning resources for learning the Polish languge.'

Life / Daily comute from Warsaw to Lodz [14]

Hey cjjc I was wrong about your city sorry

No problem. I think you probably looked at my profile and read 'Carlise' which I only put as it is the nearest big city.

The job is in support anyway I will see if the other offer work out I give you the details of this one .

That would be brilliant!

anyway this will be my last shoot after 2 years here the job thing is not working the pay still way too low !!!!!

Sorry to hear that, I would recommend you look carefully where you want to work...recession in the UK is making things difficult!

Do you speak Polish zion?

Life / Daily comute from Warsaw to Lodz [14]

No I dont speak no Polish been too busy looking for work all the time to learn Polish

I see. Was/Is it very difficult?

If you find a job the pay will be low rent is expensive if you don't need to make a living with what you make here then is ok I need to save up cash those days so ....

Well wages are better in the UK but nobody wants to employ at the moment, I cannot find a job and I have good qualifications. I have had 6 or 7 letters all telling me the same thing...

In the current financial climate we are not looking to recruit further at this time.

You can find jobs with no polish but you will need a second language then English
English is the working language of many places I worked but a second language is also need.

but as I said if you dont mind working for peanuts Welcome to Poland

I'm learning Polish but I don't think I can possibly learn another language too!

I was thinking about studies in £ódź and then part time job then I will have to work only for money for social life as rent is included with the course costs.

Feedback / Why are some informative threads deleted and other stupid ones left? [8]

Please define 'informative' and 'stupid' and try explain to the members who posted in the 'stupid' threads that they are...(?)

I am talking about some of my threads. I do often create threads and 99% of the time they are language questions or culture related I do however once in a while create something a little silly. However it is always in off-topic and I am not bothered to see it disappear. I was however at one point on 51 threads (not that I see it as a competition) but now I am down to 33 and I'm pretty sure I did not post over 10 'junk threads'.

Maybe, I am wrong, I just wondered.

UK, Ireland / Something to take to Poland from UK to sell... [47]

I just had a good idea. Seeing as though electronics (especially mac laptops) are more expensive in Poland than they are in the UK would it be a good idea for me to take something over to sell on allegro?

If so, then what?

UK, Ireland / Something to take to Poland from UK to sell... [47]

Then you spend your profit getting home again ;) ;)

Nope I simply live on the money I sold it for making sure the profit margin is spent on piwa.

;)

Canadian maple syrup

I was thinking more of high value electronics.

sell food... sell enough and you then move on to owning an internet shop.

I'm not sure get it...

I thought most Polish people find English food bland and boring.
